I love Christmas music and was wondering if anyone knows of a Christmas choir where I can go listen to music. Thanks!
Decided to just do a small 12-15 person ceremony (non-religious) with my dad officiating on our anniversary of our first date— which happens to be a Wednesday in February, yes in 2 months :). Thinking of having the ceremony somewhere intimate and inexpensive and then going to a nice lunch or early dinner afterwards with the whole party. If Harvest was still around, that is the restaurant style I’d shoot for… What venues would you suggest for the ceremony and/or lunch? I’m in to unusual and creative solutions and up to 50 miles outside of Madison would work too. Thank you!
EDITED TO ADD: Ceremony venue and restaurant venue can be separate—looking for a creative idea for the ceremony spot! Also (lunch or early dinner won’t be long, 2 hours max)—I think we might go ice-skating at Tenney Park afterward!
Any Madison pet owners have spot pet insurance? If so, what has your experience been like with them when it comes to submitting claims?
Just signed my dog up for it today. Hopefully I’ll never have to use it but got it for the peace of mind.

There is a winter art fair happening Dec 8th at noble knight. Lot of local artists using the play space to vend!
Last year I got one in the West town mall parking lot, outside Dick's. It was a nice one, but I think it ran like $150. That felt a bit pricey to me.
I love crab rangoons. Where’s the best goons in Madison?
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you’re sleeping on some amazing independent bodyworkers/massage therapists in the area. There are so many great massage therapists in the area that people are hesitant to try due to the lack of Google reviews. There are a couple of massage establishments (on the isthmus) that I have tried and had a terrible outcome the times that I visited although they had 100+ 5 star reviews. Plus, most of the small businesses listed don’t expect tips which makes the total price cheaper than most of the massage establishments!
Here is a selection of small massage businesses (1-2 therapists) that I have personally tried and loved. I invite you to add your own recommendations to this list.
Alchemy Bodywork: Neuromuscular massage —He is a master of his craft. If you have specific issues that you have been dealing with for a while, he can definitely help!
Chill Therapeutic Massage: Therapeutic barefoot massage, cupping, deep tissue —The most thorough barefoot massage I have experienced in Madison. I highly recommend for the athletic type and those looking for deep, consistent pressure.
Divine Anatomy: Relaxation, Ashiatsu, prenatal —Relaxing and reviving in a very beautiful space. She pampers you. If you’re pregnant or looking to relax, this is the perfect spot for you!
In Good Hands: Sports, deep tissue, myofascial, lymphatic drainage —He is super knowledgeable and can relieve your aches and pains effortlessly. Definitely recommend for the athletic type and folks who deal with chronic pain.
Nomadic Healing Arts: Relaxation, deep tissue, trigger point, hot stone —This space is super cozy. Be prepared to melt into the table. Perfect for people of all backgrounds!
Somebody I know lost their Bose earbuds case on the bus from Eagle Heights to East Washington last night. If you happen to find it, please DM me to let me know! Thanks!
Any particularly good live holiday concerts to check out in the area this season? Would also consider driving to milwaukee.
Hi I’m a UW freshman and I’m back on campus from the break early so i’m gonna hang out with a friend who’s from the area
I need suggestions for what to do especially in this cold weather. My friend has a car so transportation wouldn’t be a problem & would prefer it to be low cost since we’re both students
Have an under 18 year old in the house that has shown interest in weight training.
Before we start asking at every gym wondering if anyone knows of gyms that are youth friendly or groups/clubs we should check out?
My wife and I are looking to move to Madison sometime in 2025 and are struggling to find any decent apartments/condos/townhomes that do not have sketchy landlords or faulty apartment appliances/maintenance.
Ideally we would like to be around the downtown Madison area with the following criteria:
We are both willing to negotiate a bit, whether it’s more and more outside the downtown area but as my wife is pursuing a job in the downtown area, the closer the better.
Literally any help is appreciated! Feel free to give restaurant suggestions too please! Thank you so much!
Thinking of moving to the area to be closer to family what is the 25y+ gay scene like outside of bars? Like is there a gay sports league or craft meet ups? I do not drink so I'm worried that there is not a lot of opportunities to meet people.
Hey everyone I'm looking for a place I can get rid of 2 broken mini fridges. Ideally for free
They have never seen snow, so it is already going to be a memorable Christmas. I'm also taking them to the arboretum and to see the eagles. What should else should we visit?
Foods to not be missed?
Any recommendation on the best lights? I remember there was one house set up to the radio over on the West side, does that still happen? Anyone has the address?
Thank you in advance!!
Edit: Thank you so much for all the replies. I am running off to get some groceries, I will respond tomorrow, but please know I appreciate your suggestions very much!!
Hey all.
I've been in the area for about 2 years but starting to realize I could strive to be a little more social...also low-key high-key hoping to get better at the dating scene and meet some real people.
What are some club options around here (i.e. dancing, board games, video games, reading, or anything else) to make new friends?
Hi! I’m thinking of taking a job in Madison! But I’m a bit worried about the city and how I’ll like it.
Some background: I’ve lived in NYC, DC, SF, Austin and Baltimore. I liked those cities in that order as well. Austin was too sleepy for me with no diversity and everything was a pay to play situation… and even when you did pay, it would be a really sad sight. I love DC and SF and NY because something is always going on, it’s very diverse and each part of it is so different.
It’s unfortunate because the job I loved the most was in Austin and I found a 10000% similar job in Madison.
Based on this, do you think I’d like it?
