To any birders out there, I was out at Horicon today. I didn't see much at all, but then I saw a goose that looked a little off. Busted out the binoculars and first thought maybe it was a tundra goose between colors, but it's head and neck were white and most of the body was brown. The separate colors were distinct.
I didn't try getting a pic with my phone and binoculars because I didn't know how cool it was. I found it just before leaving and pretty close to the visitor center. If you'd take the loop right there and go left, it was that way sort towards the boardwalk area.
I was in the program for low income people to get cheap internet. It was like $11.40 a month.
Since then every month it’s gone up like 20$. First it was $40 then $60 now it’s $82 a month and nothings changed.
Is this what people pay for only internet?
Hi everyone!
My spouse and I are searching for a photographer/videographer for our upcoming wedding and initially hoped to connect with XS Productions in Milwaukee. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to reach them.
We’re drawn to the moody, cinematic style they offer and would love to find someone who can create a similar vibe. We’re open to recommendations from Madison, other nearby areas in Wisconsin, or even photographers/videographers who are willing to travel to our location.
If you know any talented professionals who specialize in this aesthetic or have the capability to achieve it, we would greatly appreciate your suggestions! Thank you so much!
Title. I am way overdue for a service and need some recommendations! Hoping to get a good, honest evaluation of my car and no overcharging for any services. Thanks!
It was announced at the game today that there will be a concert at Camp Randall, first concert there in 28 years. It will be announced on Tuesday. Any idea who??
I was waiting for the B bus and Google maps stated the bus would be five minutes late. The screen in the station stated it would be on time and even went through the "arriving now" notifications. The bus was indeed five minutes late. Do the screens in the station just give the scheduled times and not the actual arrival times?
Hey y'all, anywhere in town we can play bocce ball? Thanks and ✌️
Does anybody know where there’s a TV schedule I can find? I just moved back into Madison and am having a hard time finding any info on TV affiliates. I have Hulu Live and some local channels
How can I find a good book club? My friends and coworkers aren’t big readers (I’m F27) love novels, romance, lit fic! Downtown preferably!! TIA!!
Hi all! Trying to figure out places in town to meet people near my age (25M) who are into classical music. I play some instruments at a pretty basic level but I was a non-music major in college, and none of my friends are really the types who'd go to an orchestra.
Places I've tried:
I've heard the First Unitarian Society may be a place to look next? I'm not religious, but sounds like they don't mind there, and supposedly musicians play for certain services and hang out.
I'd also be up for taking non-university beginner/intermediate group instrument lessons if there are some other adult learners there too!
Any other places orchestra-goers gather socially? Or anywhere I've tried that I should give a second look?
Hey everyone!
Anyone from Madison going to NBA preseason game Milwuakee Bucks vs. Los Angeles Lakers on 10th October? I was wondering if anyone has some extra space in their car and wouldn’t mind me giving a ride. I can chip in for gas or grab you a snack for the game!
Thanks in advance!
Honestly I feel the place has been going down hill steadily, and it’s very over priced. Wonder what will replace it.
I kinda need anime friends more bleach type, isekai, fantasy but any works just people to talk about anime
Are any of you experienced poll workers/city of Madison election officials?
Im looking for a couple of volunteers to help with a strictly non-partisan voter registration event in downtown Madison on Wednesday October 9th, 10-5pm.
I’m not having any luck getting the Voter Outreach Coordinator for the city to respond to my emails asking for help, so no way to get in touch with the voter outreach volunteers that are part of the team sanctioned by the clerks office.
If you are able to help direct message me for more information.
Thank you!!
Anyone know why there were four black hellicopters over Madison today? I just saw them from around the Burke area at 10:25AM.
I live in a student neighborhood. They just started partying and playing loud music about 30 minutes ago at 8:30 am. Thankfully it’s classic rock.
I work at a hotel and like talking with the guests about our lively game days. What’s it like in your neighborhoods and businesses? I don’t care about football but I’m glad the city is having fun.
Edit: The score was 52 to 6. Holy shit. It’s going to be a fun evening. In Wisconsin we drink a lot whether we win or lose. But thankfully everyone will be in a good mood.
Looking for a Covid booster today. Quartz insurance, my clinic doesn't have them today. Ideally Eastside, thank you!
Edit: Grabbed the last apt of the day at the drive through. Thank you! There were openings at Walgreens too.
It was cool when you could drive up and down State Street. It was a different time. I remember a really cool restaurant called the bittersweet.
Went to dinner with some friends from out of town at the Old Fashioned Thursday evening. Made the mistake of eating outside. We were accosted by three separate Panhandlers who were circling the dining area for much of our time there. We refused them and caught an ear full of cursing from one of them--while we were sitting at our table! She ended up getting arrested and hauled off right in front of us. We felt bad for the young waitress who was trying to fend them off while doing her actual job. Pretty embarrassing for our out-of-towners to see what (real?) Madison looks like.
Does anyone know where i can buy deer jerky? Me and my girlfriend are up here for a few days and would love to buy some if anyone knows anyone/place itd be much appreciated!
Anybody out looking?
