Hey all, planning a move to NYC some time early-mid November. Was looking at apartments in LIC, particularly Jackson Park. Would be down to share a 2bd or 3bd!

Some info about me, I'm a software engineer (surprise surprise) working hybrid in Manhattan. I'm into video games (pc + ps5), movies/shows/anime (watching Industry rn, hyped for Dandadan), weightlifting, playing classical guitar, and finding fun stuff to do around the city!

Not really one to throw parties or anything like that, might have the occasional kick-back but generally have a pretty quiet lifestyle. Will most likely be doing stuff outside the apartment if anything.

The room is in a flex apartment with a second roommate (I’m the person that’s leaving not the roommate). You will be subletting my portion of the lease.  He typically needs the bathroom from 7 – 7:30 AM, fyi.

The building is a modern building with a doorman, elevator and laundromat downstairs. There is a bike room downstairs and a gym in the building (included free with rent). It also has a rooftop. There are no washer/dryers within the apartment but downstairs in the building.

The apartment has a nice and large kitchen space but it does not have a common area/living room. It has a dishwasher. It also has central heating/cooling that you can adjust. The apartment has large windows and lots of natural sun if you want to just keep the blinds open.

The building is in the Court Square area of LIC and very convenient for trains. It’s 1 block away from the Court Square train station (E, M, G, 7), a few blocks away from the Queens Plaza (E/M/R) and Queensborough Plaza (N/W/7) stops.

The roommate is a man in his 30s and a male roommate is preferred. He is very clean, quiet and tidy. The same is expected of you.

No couples or children allowed.

Male roommate is preferred.

The move-in date is officially December 1, 2024. There is a potential to move in late Novemeber but not early November.

Move-In Total Cost: $3,600 (You owe 1^(st) month’s rent and a deposit - $1,800 each so $3,600 total).

Monthly Rent: $1800/month.

Thinking about moving into LIC and been eyeing the luxury apartments. Been hard to tell how good a gym is from just the pictures they have on streeteasy, so I was wondering if anyone had any recs for good apartment buildings with good gyms?

By good gym I mean a decent amount of machines, squat racks/benches, etc. More than your typical hotel gym. So far, Jackson Park, Sven, and 5pointz seem to have the best gym (although I haven't heard great things about the last)

Just sharing some love for the Blue Pad Thai foodtruck in front of Warby Parker. The food really hits the spot in terms of flavor, and the owner is always so sweet. It does take a bit of time for them to prepare your food, but very worth it for me to support a local business that makes your food fresh. Highly recommend them!

Does any one have any information on a center that caters to reintegration of adults who are delayed or autistic? When I Google I see only the private institutions which are too expensive so figured I’d give here a try
