Croatia recently had their local elections local elections. Dario Zurovec was re-elected as mayor of the town of Sveta Nedelja, near the capital Zagreb, this time under the party Focus, whose ideology is classical liberal and bright green environmentalist, which is defined as being "less about the problems and limitations we need to overcome than the "tools, models, and ideas" that already exist for overcoming them. It forgoes the bleakness of protest and dissent for the energizing confidence of constructive solutions." Sveta Nedelja, although only 18,000-strong, is also one of the wealthiest in Croatia and also has the highest number of small businesses in the country. Focus also elected mayors in Pirovac and Križ. The party is also advancing a mayoral candidate to the second round of voting in the towns of Samobor and Sveti Ivan Zelina.
I am curious if anyone has heard of this book? Supposedly this was a libertarian society in New Hampshire that completely failed because it seems that nothing was organized and people were not respectful as far as getting rid of their trash which caused bears to come and destroy the town? Not sure if anyone else is heard about this because my good friend showed me this it’s very interesting.
Dozens of libertarians were elected across the country in it's most recent municipal elections yesterday. Most of those elected were running for councilor of several of Brazil's 5,500+ municipalities. These libertarians were elected in the more populated areas, most notably cities such as Rio, Belo Horizonte, and Porto Alegre. As for the election of mayors, there are two big municipalities, Mogi das Cruzes and Joinville, where a libertarian candidate has advanced to the second round of voting which takes place in two weeks.
