Being a game dev can be a bit of a bitch sometimes, so lets at least laugh about bugs and other issues with each other

Share funny things that happen to you during game development, reaction gifs or memes.

Content should be humorous and not just promote a game.

Please Post:

  • Gamedev memes
  • Gamedev related reaction gifs
  • Screengrabs/gifs of funny bugs or other things you encounter during game development
  • Evidence of gamers not understanding the first thing about game development
  • Real life pictures/videos that remind you of gamedev stuff

Please Don't Post:

  • General gamedev tips
  • Serious discussion or questions
  • Content that is primarily promotional and/or not funny
  • Content that is not related to game development

Rules:

  1. Keep your memes and jokes relevant to game design / game development
Programming, Art, Animation, Marketing, Narrative, Customer support and more can all be part of game design and are therefore appropriate topics to post about.

1.a) Please avoid generic programmer memes that have no connection to video games. (Clarification here)

  • Keep it humorous
We enjoy and appreciate memes, reaction gifs, screengrabs of funny bugs, evidence of player misconceptions about what game development entails, real life things that remind you of game dev stuff and more. Posts must contain an attempt at humor.

  • Keep it kind
Remember that you are talking to (and about) real people. This subreddit does not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or any kind of personal insult. Be kind.

  • Keep it fresh
No reposts of anything that is currently in the top 50 of all time or in the top 25 of week, month or year.

  • Rules will be enforced at Mod discretion. If you disagree with the rules or have other feedback for the subreddit, please open a meta thread.

    But why nothing serious?

Because this is a humorous subreddit. For serious discussions of games and game development, there are already plenty of subreddits, like:

    Choose wisely solo developer

Just something I’ve noticed on Reddit, probably because I’m using synty for my next game lol. But this isn’t about me it’s just the general attitude I’ve seen towards the assets.

Seems like if it’s using Kenney it’s a cute lil indie game but if it’s synty it’s a cheat asset flip.
