Let's talk Japanese music. The goal is to be as far-reaching as possible, so that we can all share in our knowledge of the best music that Japan has to offer. Maybe you're a fan of classic rock? Or hip-hop? Contemporary pop? Traditional music? Noise and other experiments? You name it: we're interested.

they only let me put one photo here so i’ll have to list them out there’s DJ510mariko, GOTO MARIKO, ほくたちのいるところ。, and GotoMariko acoustic violence POP, the one the newest music is GotoMariko acoustic violence POP, with a album called mirai which came out the 11th of january this year
Why do people associate them with pop music when its clearly rap. I mean the vocalist was a succesful battle rapper and the dj has win on the international level and even perform in the Olympics. I get it's pop rap but why do rap fans in Japan perceive their music this way?
Couldn’t find any recent post asking for song recommendations that have half Japanese and half English on them.
So I’m looking for song recs with that mind. If it’s purely Japanese I like songs that’s easy to sing along to like with easy beats or melody to it. Not a fan of heavy metal though.
Anything would be much appreciated!
I found this playlist on yt a while ago , unironically saved my life. I want to know where can I find more of this genre/vibe
Also no Ichiko Aoba
モーニング・プレーヤー Shohei Takagi Parallela Botanica
2024, J-Pop
I love Mrs. Green Apple, Higedan, and Bump of Chicken. Any recommendations for me please?
So i was just faintly reminded of this so ill give yall what I can. So about 10y ago I had a Pandora (cant get into it anymore) it started with re:re: by akg then added sambomaster, the pillows, high and mighty color etc. Some intro/outro songs from anime at the time but mostly i was deep diving that style of rock. So the song in question was kinda a rap/hip hop style, slowish and almost more spoken than sung but the chorus was sung the only word i remember is before the chorus he said datte(?) Dudes voice was deep and blusey and I think the cover of the album was like a grey building and windows almost like an alley but I might also be thinking of something else with that. If yall would know with this little info I'd be impressed and very grateful
The song is Yours by Yuki Saito, me and a friend of mine both recognize it and know it's from an anime but for the life of us can't find which one, I want to watch it again but can't remember what it was, please help Song link: https://open.spotify.com/track/7FlKUcPudGd2MpgSB2RXrR?si=8ZA70GKrSQ-wTuNHvy57xg Edit: I might have confused it with the outro to my dress up darling as it has been awhile since I last watched it, but the songs still don't seem similar enough to be it
I'm not looking for any specific genre, although something post-rock would be nice. But you can recommend anything as long as you consider it a beautiful album.
Looking forward to your suggestions!
