Let's talk Japanese music. The goal is to be as far-reaching as possible, so that we can all share in our knowledge of the best music that Japan has to offer. Maybe you're a fan of classic rock? Or hip-hop? Contemporary pop? Traditional music? Noise and other experiments? You name it: we're interested.

I bought this today for only $2 at my local retro shop here in the US. I thought it looked like a Japanese punk album and was VERY surprised I was right! I listened and it is AWESOME! However, I have no idea who the band is and would like to find out more.
Has Hosono House been removed from Spotify for anyone else? Can't find any posts about it / reasons given. Wanted to listen to it to sleep :(
I wanted some recommendations for acoustic Japanese songs because I find it bizarre that Japanese songs on Spotify only recommend songs that seem like an explosion of emotions and with lots of guitar solos hahaha, I just wanted to hear something "calm" but I almost don't think so, Could someone explain to me why these songs are so famous and the calmer songs are not? And leave a recommendation please🙏
Olá, pessoal. Estou procurando essa música há um tempo e nesse mesmo período me encontro sem resultados, até que por via de recomendações resolvi entrar no Reddit para acha-la!

Looking for 80s-90s Japanese female artists. Preferably rock & pop, but any genres ok
quirky pop song composed by Komuro Tetsuya.
Hi everyone ! I'll be in Tokyo next week for the first time and only for a few days (Feb 4-9). I've read about live houses and would love to attend a gig while I'm there. I listen to punk, garage and other high energy r&r bands. Including some Japan bands such as The Deadvikings, Michelle Gun Elephant and more.
Any live house recos or bars when I'll be there ?
Thanks
I remember first getting into Shinsei Kamattechan around 2014—they were my top band for a long time. Back then, it was hard to find much media about them online, and their YouTube audio quality was pretty rough, but I absolutely loved the band and Noko’s unique style. My favorite song at the time was probably Shinitai Kisetsu.
In recent years, I was caught off guard when I saw them doing anime opening themes since I hadn’t been keeping up with them as much. But it made me really happy to see them reaching more people. And now, seeing them on The First Take is even more incredible. It’s amazing to watch a band I’ve loved for so long continue to grow and get the recognition they deserve.
Can someone drop some tracks with similar vibe ? I recently discovered this track through a anime and hooked with it since then.
Does anyone know where I can find this song? I heard it on a Japanese radio station but I can't find a trace of the artist or song online...
I'm trying to find this song that was popular in Japan maybe 5 or 6 years ago? An exchange student had showed it to me and I loved it but I lost it.
Recently I saw an ad on tiktok with a cover of the song and now it makes me want to find the song even more.
All I remember from the beginning is "Hey good morning [......] Okay!" (From the English version)
It starts with a ringing alarm clock and then we go through the singers life of boarding a train and following the same routine and schedule where he meets the girl but is too scared to approach her. But on a rainy day, she lends him her umbrella and that gives him the opportunity to talk to her finally. (I believe there's a female version of her POV as well)
Look... I'm going to sound really dumb. I was an exchange student when I was 14 in Japan in 2003. There was a song that my host sister listened to over and over again and I don't know the name of it. So here is the sounded out English: Aka Coo Sabita Tsuki-do kobune yo-no-vee
Small translation to of the first part of the song: Red rusty moon night small ship floats?
Help.
🥴🥴🥴
Sorry bad english
- I found it on youtube, but maybe is on other platforms
- It has a girl voice (like vocaloid?).
- In the start of the video the girl has a mask, and then she take it off
I dont know how to describe the type of the song, remembers me of vocaloid but maybe isnt.
A pic made by me of the video cover:
Haven't seen this posted yet but One Ok Rock released a new song!
Also, they're on a huge tour!
So go buy your tickets!
I found a picture of an album for artists called k-bros, and I couldn’t find any information about them. I want to listen to their songs, but I can’t. Can someone give me a source to listen to them, i can’t buy the cd version because i don’t live in japan
