X Japan is a Japanese heavy metal band from Chiba, formed in 1982 by drummer Yoshiki and lead vocalist Toshi. Predominantly a power/speed metal band with heavy symphonic elements, they later gravitated towards a progressive sound with an emphasis on ballads. Besides being one of the first Japanese acts to achieve mainstream success while on an independent label, the group is widely credited as one of the pioneers of visual kei, a movement among Japanese musicians comparable to Western glam.

"hide stash" Google Drive + Resource Document (Official/Fanmade websites)
Hi, today I'm going to share something I've been compiling and working on for quite some time now. If you've seen me around here before, hi, I'm the person with the insane hide / X collection that I posted here awhile back. I got into the band and this fandom at the tail-end of 2022 thanks to a YouTube video, and I've been obsessed ever since. However, there has been a glaring problem I've noticed while here, and that's how difficult it is to find certain scans or information.
Your first assumption might be "oh well Denoriel X Freaks is right there, you're in the server aren't you" and yes, I am! When I say that finding certain information or scans is difficult though, I mean stuff like hide's online diary and older X information from Japan itself, the former which has been basically a fart in the wind whether it be the original text or translated by fans online (it's just really hard to find is what I'm saying). There are indeed some fansites floating around that you can access, but they've either been abandoned or simply don't have enough to go off of.
So I present to you what is basically over a year's worth of work: the hide stash google drive.
This contains scans not only relating to hide, but X as well. I have MVs uploaded along with other miscellaneous clips and plan on adding more as time goes on. This also leads into the next thing which is the resource document.
Originally, this document was only filled with very few links and all related to the sites I knew to go to for information about hide and/or X Japan. However overtime I've discovered that it would be beneficial to sift through Wayback Machine and pick up any fan created websites that have either since been shut down or were blasted off the face of the internet when the GeoCities servers were shut off. Through this search I have found both the official websites for zilch and Saver Tiger. You will find these in the above document along with archives of hide's original live.co.jp website and even an archive of Taiji's blog/website too.
So as a summary:
- Finding info can be hard especially as a new fan
- I made a document full of links and have a drive filled with scans and videos
- resource document also has links to general visual kei websites that cover more than X
- Insane is my middle name or something
If I'm missing anything, please let me know. I want to be able to get everything into one place so that fans (new or old) can find it easily. I'm not doing this for any sort of gain, this is just something fun for me to do and keeps me busy!

What does hide's t-shirt say....what sucks, exactly? ๐ค๐ธ๐ตโ๐ซ
These 2 shots have had me curious ever since I became a fan 3 1/2 years ago. Image search hasn't helped and I have yet to find either of these images in better quality.
Does anyone know what the underlying t-shirt reads??? All I get is: A...[blank?]...M, A...something....SUCKS

And how many of those what I refer to as Smucker's Goober crochet sweaters did he have??? I've seen photos/interviews of him in blue and pink in addition to the purple and red as in the photos below. Maybe there was a "buy more and save!" sale somewhere....I don't know.... ๐ธ

Got married and walked down the aisle as a married couple to X Japan :)
Just got married on halloween, and the song we walked from the altar to was Forever Love, the Yoshiki Classical version, at the first swell at 2:11. It was awesome, as X has been part of most my life, and I loved sharing that song and moment with her.

The title of this post has been psychologically proven.ย ๐ค๐ธ This is the "feature wall" in my place-of-business office, not my home office. I have everything - or should I say, EVERYONE - I need to help me get along as a happy and productive employee: Ace, the love of my life Eric Carr, my "spirit cousin" hide, and The GazettE! ๐๐ค Even the VP of Human Resources thought it was cool. (So.....where's my bonus?!? ๐ธ)
The peace sign art I made in 2nd grade (1973-74!), the Eric poster I've had since the ad campaign was originally launched in the 80's (and I have a dupe of it in my home office), the Ace and hide Pink Spider prints both came from Etsy. The hide '94 Fernandes ad is repro'ed; the little "Shut up!" thing is a reprint of art hide drew himself on one of his guitars. And...the Gaze poster came with an Arena 37c Stacked Rubbish tour special edition issue.ย

TAIJI visit: which stop on Oshiage line has taxis?
Keisei-oshiage line. Route include matsuhidai. Last time there were no taxis at Omachi station. The walk sucked because the road didnโt have sidewalks.

Favorite song and live performance of it?
Just like the title said whatโs your favorite song and favorite live performance of it. Mine is Week End from The Last Live. I know itโs a sad live since it was their disbandment show but WOW! They put their all into it! It was just everything. The string instruments in the back at the last chorus, the piano bridge (I think itโs the bridge idk). The drum, the guitars, the bass. Just WOW! So yeah feel free to comment below your favorite one! ๐

Not strictly related to X Japan, but what's going on with Yoshiki and his idol group XY? Why does he want to quit as producer, why are their fans upset? Does anyone know more?
And what does "XY &Z" mean? That came up frequently in the discussions on Twitter but I don't know what it refers to. I only saw it in the bio of one of the XY members, is it a reference to that particular member? I saw a tweet by Yoshiki saying "some people broke promises" and that he wanted to have 13 members for XY, but now he added a new guy (called Tegoshi - I know nothing about him), so that would make 14 members. Does Yoshiki want to remove one of the original members, and that's what the issue is?

I think this gonna be a Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Frank Zappa type situation with Yoshiki
Homeboy kept claiming new music is on the way only to be shelved after the fact. Iโm pretty sure once he drops dead one day. His estate and Sony will announce theirs 20 years worth of unreleased material, and probably give all of their albums an official US release. (GodโฆI can only dream the day I finally get my hands on Art of Life on vinyl!) But I am certain itโll be some hokey compilations of unreleased material and maybe some unreleased live material. Or just a bloated rerelease boxsets of a single album with 8 disks of bonus material.
Just some random thoughts.

October 29 2024 marks one year since Heath passed. I still can't wrap my head around it.
This is my favorite photo of Heath and hide together. While it is heartbreaking (and unbelievable) that they are both gone, I find peace in knowing they are reunited in the beyond. I have no doubt they have remained just as beautiful as they are here, a musical kingdom at their feet. โญโค๏ธ๐โค๏ธโญ

What is your opinion on Toshi?
Since Toshi doesnโt associate himself or talk about X do yโall still consider him a member, do yโall like him, do yโall absolutely hate him? Iโm a newer fan so Iโm not too sure how people feel about him so I just wanted to know. Especially since heโs my favorite, idk what it is man, but something about him just instantly made me fall in love with him. His stage presence, especially from their indie/blue blood era, instantly captivated me and his fierce voice! He was the only one I could focus on. So yea itโs kinda sad how everything turned out with him and the band but oh well thatโs just how it is ๐คทโโ๏ธ. Didnโt meant to go on a whole rant here, but please let me know how yโall feel about Toshi and if yโall like him or not.

And "shout it out loud" to hide up there in Rock and Roll Heaven who threw a tantrum when his parents would not allow him to see KISS at the Budokan in 1977 (same time period as this GIF!) when he was 12! You were not alone, dearest hide-chan....I did the very same when my parents would also not allow me to see KISS on that same tour here in the States when I was 11. ๐ธ๐ฟ
