Hey everyone! Me and my friend finished our cycling trip from Utrecht (Netherlands) to Istanbul today. We have a flight booked for next week with our bicycles but we still need to find 2 bicycle boxes so that we can take them back with us. Does anyone know a bicycle/sport shop where they either sell these types of boxes or have some? Teşekkürler/thank you in advace.
please help me save my back lol
Thank you all!
I ve been here for 3 days and noticed that this street, is mostly has weird mountainy road, that always goes up and down, and i m curious,is there a place in Istanbul with normal straightforward roads like in any regular towns?
I'm trying to verify my İstanbulkart account. When I get to the ID verification section it keeps showing me the back face of a Turkish ID and not a foreigner ID (I chose USA in the information page before). Even when I try, it doesn't scan the back face. I notice foreign IDs don't even have chips on the back like the picture. Weird thing is it does scan the front face. Any ideas?
IST to FRA
It made an emergency descent (captain yelled it) lost 100kph, started leaning to the left, and then returned to Istanbul.
Eventually he told us pressurization issues and that's the last we heard.
Out of morbid curiosity, I just wanted to know what happened. I can't find anything and the staff didn't say.
Update:
No explanation but link to the emergency

Hello everybody, i'm looking for a professional psychologist thay specifically deals with alcohol or other addiction, that speaks turkish, in beşiktaş or kadikoy or somewhere close to this area... Thank you
Hi there! I visit my family often in Istanbul and I’ll be visiting soon. I need help finding something similar to a Dyson air wrap or a Revlon blowdry brush. Every time I visit I have a hard time finding a good straightener. I don’t want a cheap straightener from the drugstore. I need something modern that doesn’t fry my hair but it’s so hard to find anywhere in Turkey! I refuse to bring my Dyson air wrap and use a converter I will not take my chances thank you!
Arkadaşlar merhaba, tek yaşayan arkadaşlara bir sorum olacak. Aylık faturanız ve günlük öğün sayınıza göre market alışverişi dahil ayda kaç tl gideriniz oluyor.
Title says everything. Everyday in the early morning the muezzin calls and according to a fellow sleepless guy (Greetings to Malik) from reddit also over the allowed DB Level. Every night I hear dogs, multiple times. Every night i hear people misusing the horn of their cars deep in the nights, Transports beeping, people Shouting randomly and so on and so on. How, my dear people from Istanbul, do you survive this? Has any one developped insomnia because of this?
Looks like it's making another run in Istanbul
I know it's legit and that it works, I've ordered from it a few times, but can anyone explain why do products ordered in one order come with different couriers? I am aware it's different sellers but why on earth would they not assemble it all into one order and then send it to me? It's considerably more convenient and cost efficient to send one person instead of three, or use 1 locker instead of 2.
Am I simply forgetting to click some button? I could have missed something since I don't speak turkish.
I walk past it often. There's not much of it left! It's close to Moda Beach on Sağlık Sokak. Anyone know what it was?

Hi guys, I have some blood pressure and other mild cardiac issues, I am looking for best possible cardiologist in Istanbul. Cost of service not important, health is first.
Hello everyone,
I have taken care of a kitten since it fell down to my office garden and it was abandoned by its mom at her age like less than a month. Now I'm looking for a family for her so that she can be loved more and have a nice life :) So I'm looking for subreddits that I can upload a post looking for someone to adopt her
I looked at Istanbulcat & turkishcats subreddit but it seems like it's for uploading cute istanbul and turkish cat photos that they found on the streets, etc. but not asking questions or uploading post about adoption.
Which subreddit or website do you recommend me to use for searching anyone to adopt a cat?
And in case if you or your friend, family looking for a new cat and interested in adopting a cat, PM me please!
I'll upload some of her photos. She's so cute :)
(She was very small and now she's grown up but junior cat size!)
Selam!
I am from a country close to Türkiye and this is an advantage for me And I don't have financial problems and I can afford the expenses of New York My work is remote, and from this point of view, the place of residence has less influence But I don't know whether to choose New York or Istanbul for life If I want to move to a city close to where my family lives, I will choose Istanbul, and if I want to have no restrictions on being away from my family, I will choose New York. But the problem is that I don't know if New York is so much better than Istanbul that I can accept more problems? And also is Istanbul so great that I can accept problems like language and benefit from being close to family or not? I would like to know more, is there a big cultural difference between New York and Istanbul? For example, is misogyny and racism clearly more disturbing in Istanbul? (in the European section) In general, I'd like to see more realistic differences between New York and Istanbul like the cultural aspects and city vibes and quality of life and entertainment (while New York's costs are not a problem for me). Thank you, if you have any suggestion or experience, please let me know🙏🏻
I was in Istanbul for 5 days and my experience was mixed. Great history and the city is pretty. However, it feels like the place is set up to extract as much money as possible from tourists. To give some examples, 8% withdrawal fees at ATMs, cultural attractions like Hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace costing €30, €45, tour guide rushing all day through the cultural attractions just so he can get us to a few tourist traps shopping places of his friends, I could keep going but that’s not the point of this post. My question is, is there a cultural background that explains this? This trip has left me feeling very disrespected as a tourist to the point where I doubt I will return to Turkey anytime soon (or other countries in the region given I’ve had a similar experience in Egypt, and Morocco is getting a poor reputation also). Not trying to rant about the place, I’d love to hear what the locals have to say about this phenomenon.
