Astrodome article - April 1, 1964.

One of the cool things left to me, after my grandfather’s passing, was a box of 1950-1980s Motortrend and Hot Rod Magazines.

I’ve been going through them to find old advertisements that I will pull out and frame (I’m a car hobbyist) for my office or general art.

I got to this April 1964 Hot Rod Magazine, and right inside the cover, falls out this Houston Chronicle. Thought this was pretty interesting given the life, history, and current status of the Astrodome.

President Harry S Truman bestows the Medal of Honor on Marcario García. On November 27, 1944, the man from Houston singlehandedly destroyed two German gun emplacements, capturing four prisoners. Wounded in the action he continued to fight until his unit's objective was taken.

Houston from the early 1970s - where can I see it today?

I'm working on a documentary that is set in Houston in the early 1970s. While we are in town to film interviews, we want to shoot some B-roll of locations that look as they did in the early 1970s. It could be anything...homes...buildings...parks...signage etc. Don't worry about "new" stuff that might be around like cars and such. Thank you for any suggestions!
