Does anyone know if the Argentina coffee and wine bar is still open downtown? We went there a few times before and now I can’t find any info on it now it was on the strip
My family are heading down today for a week in Hot Springs and we have an Airbnb on the Ouachita River and was looking for info on any bites happening this time of the year. I know traditionally most places stock trout below dams and same is the case here. I've never really been a trout fisher and growing up in SWMO I really enjoy floating and catching small mouth and other pan fish on the rivers. I've read a little on the fish in the area but would love a local's perspective on tips and pointers.
Also is it going to be worth my time fishing as I've seen flooding has occurred not too far west of the area?
Hey all. We are visiting this weekend and staying on Lake Hamilton. I searched the sub for dog friendly stuff and it seems like there’s a good chunk! This is what I have as far as food goes:
-Superior bathhouse brewery
-Best Cafe
-Rolando’s
-Steinhaus Keller
-Bubba Brews?
-Grateful head
It sort of seems like Central Avenue is a main walking area with shops and such, is this right?
As far as activities go, we are aware that most, if not all, hikes are dog friendly. We may go to Garvan Gardens? Also we’d like to do the BARK ranger thing if we can. Any good trail recs are welcome! (preferably with water/creeks!)
Are there any places that are particularly more dog friendly than others?
Thanks!!!
I was on the top level of the free parking deck on Exchange Street this afternoon/evening making photos of some of buildings and scenery as the sun was setting. I believe I left my camera logbook on top of my car when I left. I was parked on the top level near the handicap spot nearest the stairway facing east.
If you're reading this and find yourself in the area tomorrow, would you mind taking a look for it? It's a Field Notes brand notebook with a state park design or similar on the cover. I'd love to get it back so I can have a record of the camera settings I used. I was shooting film and digital, and, unfortunately 35mm negatives don't record EXIF data like my DSLR does.
Mods: my apologies if posting this here and in r/Arkansas goes against the sub's rules. It won't be the end of the world if I don't get the notebook back but I'd like to try.
Is the go to for singles?
Hello, I’m 25, male from the Bay Area. I might move to Hot Springs soon. I know it would be a big change for me. I was wondering how life is like there. How is the dating life? Demographic diversity? Job opportunities?
I like walking around downtown but who likes hiking/wandering alone lol, I'm 20f
As the title asks. If you were to buy a house in HS today, which neighborhoods would you pick? I'm talking about walkable areas around town, within the city limits. Which neighborhoods are up and coming and what areas are being worked on? I see alot going on here (the good and the bad). Thanks all.
I live in the downtown area and the water seems like it's always turned off at random times.
If you got gas Sunday Jan 12th in HS and immediately had car trouble. Call the gas station. I did and they got water in their gas from freezing pipes. The gas provider is insured covering all costs.
Wife and I are planning a little weekend trip to Hot Springs. Was hoping to get recommendations on a good place for a couples massage. I've done my own googling but always nice to hear from people on here.
Ideally looking for a place that has a male therapist, as the wife prefers a male therapist. The massage is the main purpose but if you know a place that has a good package deal that would be cool to.
If anyone has any experience with the spa at Oaklawn I'm curious about the facilities there. We most likely will stay there, but definitely open to going off site.
Thanks in advance.
Are there any enclosed communities or resort style places in or around Hot Springs? I am looking for a place I can kinda let my kids out the front door and let them go ride bikes and be kids.
Some buddies and I are planning a trip to hot springs in May-June. There is 15 of us. What are some things we can do? (Lake, boat rentals, golf, bars, restaurants, etc…)
I really hope whoever purchases doesn't ruin the place by changing it to some lame country or fancy bar, it's unique for a reason and a one of a kind bar in HS. What do you guys think will happen to the place and why are the owners selling in the first place?
Is there a good resource for images from old photos of the area? Any era up to the late 90s.
Thank you kind soul! Stupid decision on my part but I made it to work after getting stuck. You also showed me there are still good people out there! Thank you again!!!
I'm wondering what the road conditions currently look like. Has anybody been out on Airport or Albert Pike today?
IDriveArkansas already shows a number of accidents thruoughout the state. Some in HS as well.
Are there any other locations like this in the area? This is on AR-5 by the Promised Land Dr bridge. I already know about the one on Exit 3.
