Please feel free to post news pertaining to hot springs, reviews of hot springs, and locations of springs (if it has not been previously discussed). Any subject matter that relates to a nice warm soak is highly encouraged.
Including directions in the comment section of a post in order to help others find new hot springs is also encouraged. It is the sincere hope of the mod that HotSpringsWest may become a comprehensive resource for soaking enthusiasts worldwide.
Do not post pictures of soakers that show body parts generally regarded as "private" of anybody other than yourself. Self-pics that display nudity are OK. Please tag any NSFW material as such.

My partner and I are wanting to visit a hotspring location around Valentine's Day. We have narrowed it down to Harbin or Wilbur resorts, for differing reasons. We assume it will be busy that weekend. Any insight on what to expect at either one? Overcrowded? Uncomfortable? Vibe? Thanks!
Hello! I have a mid-week work trip to San Bernardino coming up and was hoping to get a quick soak in. Unfortunately, I’ll be working until 5pm, which means arriving at the trailhead around 6:30 or 7 pm. A couple questions:
Is the trail to the Hot springs straightforward enough to hike in the dark (with headlamps)?
Is it safe to visit solo after dark?
I can handle some rowdiness, but don’t want to deal with a mob of tweakers and drunks.
Thanks for your time.
Does anyone have experience with swimsuit use at Baker? I went there the other day and there was one naked person, then probably 5 people in swim suits. Is this the norm? I don’t mind either way, but also don’t want to make people feel uncomfortable. I’m also new to this, so just trying to figure things out.
It’s so nice after the rain! I’m looking for girls that would like to go that may have never been or just couldn’t find it, I can show you the way! It’s always better going with friends 😚
I often commute from Seattle to Spokane for work. My travel days are pretty flexible and I want to mix in some adventure and outside relaxation, making a hotsprings perfect! Do you have any recommendations of places within 1-2 hours of Spokane or Coeur D’ Alene?
I welcome DM’s to help keep these beauties relatively hidden from those who don’t respect! Thank you!
Hi! Mid 20s couple here. Why do you guys think people do not like to go naked in hot springs? How regularly do you see nudity at hot springs? My girlfriend and I went to Tecopa Hot springs today. First time at a hot spring! It was amazing and so relaxing. Our skin felt good after too! Unfortunately we were the only naked people. There was a large group of people that were there today and no one was nude. We almost decided to ditch the nudity, but we decided to be nude in the lower pool since there was no one in it. We were hoping some others would be nude as well, as it makes it feel less awkward to take our clothes off. We aren't used to being the only ones since we frequented blacks beach a lot. We feel like being next to a water source and being naked should go hand in hand. It's not like bikinis cover up much and men chests are already exposed. Last question: Do you think it's rude to be the only nude people around? Curious.
Driving from Tempe, AZ to Boise, ID this week making a stop in Salt Lake City. Does anyone have suggestions for relatively easy hot springs (public, private or rustic) along the way? It's not exactly the peak season for travel that way I assume but if anyone has been that route recently or is doing the same, I'd love to find a spot or two to stop for a soak and scenery to get a break from hours in the car each day.
I’ve seen a fair bit of discussion of safety surrounding hot springs related to temperature, remoteness and alcohol consumption. However, I’ve been worried about infectious disease ever since I saw a sign stating that one area was closed due to cholera (!!) in the water. Anyone here ended up with a negative health event from a western hot spring?
Had it all to myself this morning!
i’m heading to Yucca Valley in april for a workshop, flying from WA and renting a car. Can anyone recommend a hot spring (ideally undeveloped but whatever) within 2 hours of Yucca Valley? Willing to hike a lil too. Because i’m renting a car, i’m also curious about clearance getting in and out from spot. Thanks in advance!
Hello, looking for information on hot springs in Idaho or Montana that are accessible via a 4 + mile hike in January or February. Looking to do some backpacking in the winter at a hot springs. If anyone knows a trailhead that isn't blocked by snow and doesn't have to many people (like Jerry Johnson) I would be very interested.
Hi! Anyone here snowshoe to rainbow hot springs deep in winter? I don’t see any reviews on Alltrails for this season and I wonder if it’s doable? And enjoyable?
Red Bluff hot springs, Utah Loved how the pillows turned out, tolerated how my skin looked like a tupperware used for tomato soup
Driving back Monday, any place worth checking out?
My wife and I are looking to go to a hot spring somewhere near Utah, where we can either camp near or stay near. I’m m28 she’s f25. Just looking for one that will be fun and hopefully have a clothing optional option.
Any info on clothing optional hot springs in so called?
Gotta love MT & ID winters
