Q&A Session with Carlton Cole in Chicago September 19th

Any fellow Chicago Hammers going to the Q&A at AJ Hudsons tomorrow? Going to be my first time going so wondering what to expect. Anything I should try to Ask/Say to Cole?

Claret membership value without attending matches?

I am supporting this team since 1998 (PDC). Moved to London several years ago and live around CW, so the dream to support WH became true. I attended a couple of games, but overall I am much less passionate about football and just following it online. And buy some merch on sale/ I was curious if there is any value in the membership (if you do not need tickets). It does not save much if you get things on sale anyway.
How do you use your membership otherwise and do you really need?

My preferred lineup

This is what I would like to see. My only issue is Paqueta being on the bench. He's been a little loose at times on the ball, but he can be a game changer.

I'd like to hear some thoughts on it, as I don't really like Kudus on the left and I don't like displacing Bowen on the right

Anthony Martial…

Martial has missed 100 games over the last 10 years through injury, which is a significant volume of matches per season, however if he were open to a 1 or 2 year deal, would you take him?

My thoughts are Bowen through the middle fails to fully utilise him, albeit frees up Kudus to play in his favoured and much more effective position. Antonio has been woeful so far, and although Ings took his goal well, I don’t know if he’s any more than a roll of the dice on the 70th minute mark.

Thoughts?

Help with assigning ticket to a member please!

Trying to get me and my mate (both claret members) tickets for united game but when I go to assign one to him it says “client selected does not have correct attributes to purchase seats”. Anyone know why this would be? Thanks

Food recommendations from West Ham fans

Hello all!

I am working on a TV series about food revolving around football. It's with a famous foodie presenter too. I am looking for the best food recommendations for prior/during/post match at London Stadium, if anyone could help? Any recommendation near Boleyn Ground would be well received too!

  • Anywhere near London Stadium with great pre-match atmosphere? Fan-favourite?
  • What concession/food vendors at London Stadium are worth trying? Where's the best pie? Any worldie scrans available at the stadium?
  • Also, where to go after a game for some 10/10 grub?

I've heard the Ribman was a staple outside Upton Park, do fans still try to find him?

Please let me know!

Bit of my writing

Hey Irons gang, I wrote a little bit about Lopetegui’s selection dilemma versus Fulham.

Little bit about me: I support BVB and West Ham, I did a journalism degree but don’t work in it. I suffer from a lot of anxiety so haven’t written anything in a few years, but trying to get back into it.

Let me know what you think http://fourfourtom.home.blog/2024/09/16/monday-morning-takeaways/

In Lop's Defence

  • We've played 4 games against really good teams, lost the two you would expect and got 4 points from another 2 games we could easily have lost
  • All of our best players were involved in international games, Paqueta for instance started both games for Brazil and only trained with us on Friday. It makes sense we were sluggish yesterday.
  • We already look a much more coherent team than our last two season under Moyes. I'm sure we will only improve over the course of the season.
  • We made a lot of changes in the summer and Lop is clearly taking his time to bed in new players. I don't think the lineup yesterday is anywhere close to his ideal starting 11, but we will get there.

All in all I'm happy with our start to the season, and I really disagree with anyone claiming we are just playing the same as we did under Moyes. We lost 5-0 away to Fulham last season, and 5-2 to Palace.

Anyone feel like selling Scamacca was a massive mistake?

Think about it, Weve traded scamacca for a much older version of him in Fulkrug and before people say, Undoubtedly we'd have gotten the best out of his in this system as he was more mobile than Fulkrug. Especially with Playing higher up the pitch and having runners in JB and Kudus, more technical passing from Paqueta and Soler etc.

The link up could have seriously opened up teams and he had a very good finish.

Cant help but feel he'd have made a massive difference in this team.

Ings deserves a run of games, yes or no

He's not had a run of starts since he's been here, and he always looks pretty sharp in tight spaces (in and around the box) especially against lower half teams.
For me, he was cursed by Moyesball but now with a slightly more possession based style of play he will look better. He can't be any worse than Michail Antonio looking like he's lugging a caravan behind his right leg the whole game
There's a good player in there I can smell it

Jhon Durán hit a screamer against Everton

In true West Ham fashion, he scores against us and has 3 goals so far this season, all off the bench. Hits a 35 yard piss missile to put Villa up 3-2.

Best goals per minute ratio in the premier league outside of Haaland as a matter of fact. Wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves this season worth 80 mil.

Anyone want to watch the game together tomorrow?

I’m in London for the game vs Fulham but didn’t get tickets, so I’m looking for a good West Ham pub to watch the game and ideally someone or some people to watch the game with. Lmk if you’re up for it

If I buy an available ticket for a home game via the west ham site, I take it they'll sit me in the home crowd.
