Rule 1:
No spam
Rule 2:
Don't be a dick to any hair transplant patient, even those not on our subreddit. There is much more leeway to public figures, influencers, and people in positions of authority, but this doesn't mean you can random insults, what you say must be grounded in a specific critique. But you can insult the moderator WallabyUpstairs, who believes in total leeway for any criticism against him, as he feels that there should be high leeway to criticize people in authority. This exception does not apply to any other moderator.
Rule 3:
Any financial conflicts of interests must be disclosed if they're related to any advice given, including multiple degrees of separation. Our subscribers absolutely have a right to know of all biases for any advice given, and anyone caught circumventing this may receive a permanent ban. Financial conflicts of interest must be disclosed in the 1st or 2nd sentence.
Rule 4:
No direct commissions. We allow representatives of a business or clinic granted that they follow rule 2. But receiving a direct commission incentivizes the worst type of behavior and advice.
Rule 5:
If you're going to name a clinic in a update or review title, you must name the specific surgeon that worked on you. If there was no doctor involvement, you must name the head technician. Updates without anything being named is ok. If a clinic refuses to list the doctor on their website, then the clinic can not be named in the title.
Rule 6:
If you work in the hair transplant industry, you need a flair to indicate that. Reach out out to the moderators to get your flair established.
Rule 7:
Do no speculate on anyone's mental health. Not even a person in authority or influencer. No loopholes, don't even give an implication or 'sentiment'. Yes we have high leeway for people in positions of authority but not for this. But this does not apply for the moderator WallabyUpstairs, who believes in total leeway for criticizing him.
Rule 8:
Absolutely no 'thirst' comments against female members of the hair transplant industry. Don't even try. Don't try any plausible deniability or faux ignorance. No, your way of doing it is not 'classy', 'charming', or 'high minded'. You're not different. Exercise some impulse control. Sexualizing female members of the hair transplant industry on other forums will also results in punishments. Just don't do it.
Rule 9:
If you are a clinic, supplement, pharma company, or any other type of marketer, do give unsolicited messages to our users. If you receive an unsolicited message, we would appreciated an alert, and you can also report them to the admins by clicking on the 'report' button at the button of their message, or by pressing the flag in the chat.
Rule 10:
Generally no results and other posts by clinics/surgeons. Though we don't have anything against surgeons posting their results in theory, our front page is already crowded from patient postings, so we generally don't allow postings by clinics. Though there may be instances where its good for our community, such as important info. But self advertising type posts are definitely not allowed. I'm trying to develop a subreddit where clinics can make posts freely including their results here https://old.reddit.com/r/HairTransplantDoctors/ Although its not officially launched, they can start posting results or any other posts there. Doctor ARE free to comment here, please dm the mods to obtain an industry flair.
Here are our extended list or surgeons you can scout

Code 1
There is total leeway to criticize moderator WallabyUpstairs1496 . People should be given high leeway to criticize people in authority position. I, the person who is writing this, WallabyUpstairs1496, can set boundaries for myself, but not other moderators. Please treat all other moderators with the same respect you would give anyone else. But for critiquing moderator WallabyUpstairs1496, you have total leeway. As for other authority/influencer/moderators off this subreddit, you have very high leeway, but not total leeway. Don't speculate unflattering things about their private life or mental health or anything like that.
Code 2
No financial favorers or gifts. This is not only a subreddit rule, it's a reddit-wide rule https://www.reddit.com/r/HairTransplants/comments/14rtbuq/full_disclosure_a_clinic_reached_out_to_me_asking/
Code 3
Anyone we criticize has a right to give a statement for whatever criticism we give. If we can fit it in within the character limit, we'll edit it into the post where we criticized such entity.
Here is an example where Spencer Stevenson "Spex" was banned from this subreddit for purposefully being deceptive about disclosing financial conflicts of interest, and then feigning faux-ignorance about it. He has led many people to a path of not the best hair transplant experience since he has people on his list that are not in good standing with the veteran class of the hair transplant community. Many people with 0 number of full journey independent reviews, and even a hairmill operator. But despite that, we included a statement from him after he was banned.
Here is another example where Melvin Lopez and Patrick Hennessey kept recommending one of the most horrific surgeons known to the community, Dr Diep, while taking a monthly fee from him, despite them full knowing the full extent of his horrific practices and horrific results in patients, even going so far as to lock and remove meta threads discussing Dr Diep.

I’m already booked for September 2025, and I have pretty bad seborrheic dermatitis (I think I got it from minoxidil). Some surgeons I contacted responded it’s a problem, while the one I am booked with said ok.
How did you deal with this? Did you wash with ketokonazole on the day right before the surgery? Was it super itchy afterwards?
Some surgeons said presence of dandruff can be big problem, and I am not sure if there are any tips/tricks to address this. Do I double wash it with ketokonazole right before the surgery? I’m just trying to be as prepared as possible. Maybe I brush my scalp with a special brush to get rid of the dead cells?
Thanks
I had my hair transplant last Thursday. The price included follow up prp and laser sessions, however I got upselled to do something called G-cell procedure instead of prp, and it is supposedly better than PRP. Has anyone here done it. I have a hard time finding anything online about it. Or was a squeezed out to pay more.
I’m 29-year-old male never been on any medication, non-smoker, very little drinking, fit, and sexually active. Never had any problems with ED or low libido quite the opposite.
I’m planning on getting a HT soon, and I understand that in order to preserve the native hair , it would be recommended to start taking finasteride in order to maintain it. How common are the side effects and what can I do to know if I am potentially going to have any , any tests lab / bloodwork ?
Am I wrong or right for thinking, for a visually balding man who wants a hair transplant, a mediocre hair transplant is better than no hair transplant at all.
Hi everyone!
I’m planning to get a hair transplant in March 2025 (if possible) and have started researching surgeons in Turkey and Europe. I know the waitlists for top surgeons can be long, but I’m willing to wait or even join a cancellation list if needed.
I’ve looked into Dr. Keser, and while his work is amazing, his waitlist is already 2 years long, and the cost (€4 per graft) is a bit high for me. I’ve also heard great things about Dr. Pekiner, but I’m looking for recommendations for skilled surgeons who might be a bit more affordable.
I need around 2,500 grafts and need work on my temples too, and I think my hair is at Norwood 2-3. Any suggestions for experienced but less pricey surgeons? I’d really appreciate your input!
Thanks in advance! 😊
Looking at getting a hair transplant. I’m in PA. Any recommendations for doctors around the northeast?
I had a hair transplant 7 days ago. Only the front of the hair was transplanted (2500 grafts). Today evening when washing my face I notice that my eyebrows hair is falling out in a larger numbers. I have never seen anything like this and at this rate I will lose them completly soon. 😭
My eyebrows were NOT transplanted and shock loss hasn’t started in other areas yet.
Is this related to hair transplant somehow? Some infection maybe or side effect of too much anasthesia?
I also started fin 3 months prior the transplant, then stopped a week before and yesterday restarted the treatment.
Has anyone have similar experience?
I am going to consult the clinic, a dermatologist and do some blood tests, but I would like to get any clue what might be the cause as soon as possible. My eyebrows has always been nice and healthy, so this makes me very worried.
The picture above is from a few days ago. Eyebrows shedding started today.
I have used it for acne and it is really good for reducing redness. I am at 1 month and 10 days and I want to reduce the pink crown area.
After Hair Transplant 1 months Later Can i take Derma fillers in to my face does it effect my transplanted Hair Growth please help me Thank you
I got a transplant of 4.5 thousand grafts (allegedly) about 8 months ago. Under most angles, I can see an almost unobstructed outline of my head, despite feeling substantial thickness when I comb my hair with my hand. How bad is it? Should I get it repaired?
My scalp started itching few hours ago like crazy!! Why?? I took 2 Vitamin Pills, 3 Priorin and the medicin i got from the clinic + finasteride. Does this have an effect?
Anyone here seen him? Saw a few posts- impressive results. Google reviews seem mostly mad at cost, but how is he as a surgeon? Anyone seen him?
I am about to have a HT and my surgeon prescribed me Thermal Water in Spray. To my surprise, it is not cheap (~$30USD per 250mL). So my question is if it essential to have a successful and quick recovery or it can be replaced for another kind of water like sterile saline solution?
To be clearer, are the benefits against normal sterile water higher enough to worth it? have you noticed benefits using it?
Thanks a lot!
Hi all,
Summery of my condition: I used everything (except Regenera) like PRP, mesotherap, stem cells, some oils, topical finasteride & minoxidil and finally tablet minoxidil which is the only one who give decent results but I stopped it to avoid side effects like hair growing everywhere, low blood pressure and potential affect on men sexual health
My questions are:
1- I plan to have hair transplant soon but should I use topical minoxidil after the transplant ? Some doctors say it's necessary
2- if it's necessary, should I continue forever or just as some doctors say only for 1 year which sound illogical because the hair fall will increase if I stopped it ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone. Currently in North America and I'm considering a hair transplant. My countries of choice are either Colombia or Mexico with Turkey as a final option. Can you please recommend a SOLID clinic in my first two destinations? Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
I’m considering getting a hair transplant with EsteNove, and I’m looking for honest feedback from anyone who has had their procedure done there.
How painful was the anesthesia on a scale of 1 to 10 (especially since they advertise painless anesthesia)?
Are you satisfied with the results now?
How professional were the staff during the procedure?
Did you feel like you paid more than necessary?
I read a review about EsteNove on Trustpilot, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people here on Reddit who have personal experiences with them. Your insights would be incredibly helpful!
I don’t think much shedding has occurred surprisingly. No redness that I can see either. Hope they all survive, let’s see… I started Oral Fin 1mg & Oral Min 2.5 mg 3 weeks ago (same day as HT), previously was on Topical Fin+Min only.
