which works better for you?
which has more permanent effects?
if you had a bad experience with one of them, what was that like?
I have been taking 0.5mg of finasteride daily for around 4.5 and using topical minoxidil as well. My hair loss has become very minimal or has stopped completely however I have baby hairs on my hairline as well as my crown that don’t grow past a certain point. I have just increase me my dosage of finasteride to 1mg daily but have no idea if it will do anything. Any suggestions on what to do or is there anything that can be done?
Please help
Is it okay to massage the part of the hairline where you slightly receded and want new hair to grow? I know scalp massages are good in general but what about the hairline? Might be a dumb question but I’m just trying to do everything I can do make it better
Hi I’m 28 yr old. My hairline has started to go backwards, its m shape(could be maturing). But my hairs are alos thining in the middle near the forehead. Honestly, i have had a lot of stress lately in past 1 year, and my lifestyle haa been very inappropriate. From eating unhealthy to no exercise at all, and uneven sleep. I also had sever deficiency of b12 and vit d few months ago. My father had full head of hairs in his 50s Do you think if i fix my lifestye , i might stop the hairfall. And how long after i recover from deficiencies might the hairs thickens
So I noticed my hair falling out pretty rapidly since January or February. I found out I was pregnant for 7 weeks from Feb to April. This might have caused the initial hair loss, but now it's starting up again rapidly... And I ain't pregnant. I am on birth control and a women's multivitamin, though. Plus I've been in graduate school, so I've been highly stressed from that and life in general.
My dermatologist looked in April and said it's hair thinning but didn't seem too concerned. She said it could grow back I think. She recommended a product or a medication but I forgot what it was. To be honest, I get concerned that products/meds can cause more side effects so if you have any recommendations, can you let me know what side effects they could or have caused?
If I work on my stress levels, could my hair grow back? Is there anything I can take, or products I can use, or would a simple lifestyle change help?
Before everyone attacks me because the manual says not to use massage guns on scalp, hear me out. But also this is not me advising you to try this method, just sharing what I'm doing and the reasons why.
I know not all hairloss can be stopped just from increasing blood flow, but it is proven in multiple studies that it CAN help increase thickness and health of the hair (texture, shine, etc). https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4740347/
Per this different study (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10003898/) using a massage gun on the calf, they concluded that:
"localized percussion vibration using a massage gun increases VF (Volume blood flow) and MV (mean velocity of blood) and that higher frequencies and longer durations of vibrations lead to greater increases in both."
I know I couldn't use my hands everyday for scalp massages but I could easily use a massage gun. The trick is to make sure you're using 30hz minimum and 50hz maximum. Most massage guns will tell you their RPM's per each level, and you use a RPM -> Frequency HZ calculator to get close to 50hz.
So how do you use the Massage gun without hurting/injuring yourself?
I learned that piece from this video https://youtu.be/LsvTB_JEnz0?t=210
I get the very large surface area attachment for my massage gun (in my case it's the large ball attachment), set it at the right setting, and use the gun sideways like he does in the video. By putting it sideways, I'm not bouncing it off my head. I noticed my scalp vibrates ever so slightly, and it feels quite nice. I also notice my head feels different for at least 30 minutes afterwards, it feels like more blood is there, similar to if your head were to be upside down for a minute? You have to try it to know what I mean.
Anyways, gonna try this for a bit as I've had a hair transplant a few years ago , and my new hair is now getting thin, whispy, crispy, and turning into the exact same hair quality that my native hair did before I had the transplant. I'm thinking my native skin is the issue.
Side note: I am on oral finasteride, oral minoxidil and use a LLLT helmet.
She's 30 and I feel bad for her. I want to try to help her with it in any way I can. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Will creatine increase my hairloss if I'm already losing my hair? I'm already on finasteride will that counteract the increased dht from the creatine?
My girlfriend of two years thinks she is going bald, but I don't notice any difference in that time. I want to help confirm that sentiment, so I'm wondering if there's some sort of scan that can be done that we can then do in another 6 months or so and compare?
I am applying natural oils to my hair once in a few days but every time I massage it I see 60-70 hairs it feels like I am damaging my hair what do you guys think
I see a lot of dudes taking hair loss selfies and ask if they are balding. In many cases, it does look like it but the smartphone and the lighting on it enhances the appearance so you look more bald than you actually are.
