Going to visit Guangzhou after ~10 years away. I will be staying there for a month and am worried about paying for food, groceries, etc. Do most shops/restaurants still accept cash? (I assume I'll just get strange looks)

Hey all,
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on good areas to buy some local trinkets we might bring home as gifts for family and friends in the US. I know there’s stuff around Liwan and Yuexiu but I don’t know of specific areas to check out. The tea market comes to mind as an option. Thanks for your help!

I bought a sim card in guangzhou airport and I want to avail the 8 rmb sim lock when I am not in china; however, I can't seem to activate it through the china unicom app as it says that I need to remove my sim plan. The problem is I have a 24 month contract with my sim and I only used it for about 2 months now and currently im not in china. So i got this text yesterday, i understand that i took a wrong route that wasn't meant for E-bikes as it was short, but the steps provided aren't working. I have tried logging into the 12123 app and also the Guangzhou traffic police mini program on weixin to see my traffic violation and pay the fine, but my residence permit is not working for some reason. It gives me "an unknown error" on both the mini program and the 12123 app, each time i try logging/registering into them even with the correct credentials from my notarized passport. Kindly, guide me what to do next and should i actually take my bike to the address in haizhu to sort this issue out? What will the repercussions be? How much will they fine me, and will they confiscate my license or in the worst case scenario, my E-bike?
I have some old items I would like to get copied--mostly sportswear not suits. Not interested in new custom items or fake designer, but only just getting something I already have remade as new and maybe a second one in a different color.

Hi all, does anyone know a reasonably priced door-to-door barber who is able to come to me in Panyu in person to do a men’s haircut?
I’ll only be having a 6-hour layover in Guangzhou. Hence, going out of the airport is not an option due to limited time. But I still want to make the most out of my stay there by trying out the best food offers within my reach.
What food/s do you recommend I try in the airport and where can I buy it there? I also saw that there is a Michelin restaurant but is it worth it? How much is the price range and what is the restaurant’s name? I’m open to all suggestions! 🫶🏼
Anyone wanna grab some drinks or eat some good food Saturday evening ? European M30 here, came after work, feeling a little lonely over here

Hello!
I plan to fly from Malaysia to Guangzhou on Dec 5, stay five days in the city and then leave to Macau. I read Macau is considered a "third country" in the Chinese visa policy, so I can visit Guangzhou visa-free. Still, I am confused about the "ticket to the third country" part.
According to this site, there is no direct train/bus between Guangzhou and Macau, you need to walk. So please explain to me: how can I book a ticket to prove my "third country" route in this case?
Thank you for help!
I’ve heard of Dashatou electronic market but I’m not sure if that’s just for second hand or if they also sell new ones. Just worried about getting scammed?
Are there any reputable areas or shops to buy these from? I’d prefer new ones. I tried searching Kodak and Nikon and they have shops, but most of them appear to be for printing photos?
Hi all! Any recommendations for trendy men’s clothing/shoes similar to Korean/Japanese style? Thanks!

I’m visiting china for 3 months in December, I have managed to get short rental for this time, the apartment is located near Cuiyi Community Weiyuan. As it’s my first time in general what’s this area like? Is coffee shops, supermarket shops in general nearby and what is this area known for.
Thanks
