Looking to replace my 43x magwell. Recently sold my Shield arms premium magwell.
These are the ones I'm looking to decide between.
1: SLR 2: Empire katana v3 3: SHEILD ARMS EDC 4: NINEX19 for 43x 5: Patriot CNC
I like them all, but the SLR looks the best to me but I've heard problems with it slipping. Second is the Patriot CNC.
New index points for the 43x as well as a high tang border layout.
Custom 1/1 Gritgrips slide (maybe one day it'll be available too everyone)
On a cerakoted GG frame, with a custom tactical pontoon system, and a few other goodies.
Truly 1 of 1 and even if you did something similar, you couldn't recreate this without some serious ins!
I can’t believe how hard it is to find this information on the internet. Def tried searching. Anyhow, I’m thinking of doing an Agency style trigger guard cut on my G45, and I’m concerned it might screw up the passive retention on my existing kydex holsters. My thinking is that since it essentially thins out the trigger guard, the locking points in a standard Glock kydex holster would allow for the modified frame to wiggle around and not be locked in.
I’m hoping I’m wrong. Anyone have any experience or thoughts here? Very much appreciated!
Some Glock mods are akin to pimping up a classic Ferrari with a bunch Temu gimmicks. Some Glock owners out there truly are the camber car and squatted truck owners of the gun world... your "toy" doesn't look cool, it looks tacky and dumb. Night sights, red dots, and such; sure, these are functionality mods. But tacky back plates with moronic fragile masculinity inscriptions are just cringy and telling of a maturity issue.
What would a hammer-fired glock look like?
Would you be interested in one, even fir the meme of it?
Build List -Grit Grips Frame -Overwatch Trigger Group -Shadow Systems Gen3 Slide -OEM Glock Gen5 Barrel, Pins, Slide Release, Slide Takedown
General Build Overview: • Frame: CCF Raceframes steel frame. With the slide on, the gun weighs 3 lbs unloaded, making it heavy but incredibly stable. • Magwell: Dawson Ice for fast reloads. • Mag Release: Factory mag release (kept standard for simplicity and reliability). • Vanek Trigger: Equipped with pre-travel and over-travel adjustment screws for a precise and customizable pull. • Slide Release: Extended and raised slide release for easier manipulation during reloads and competitions. • Polished Rails: Polished with Fitz for smoother operation and reduced friction. • Additional Features: Paired with a TLR-1 light for low-light conditions. • Slides: Two slides—one for EDC and one for USPSA. • Optics: Swampfox red dot on the USPSA slide and RMSx optics on the EDC slide for consistent sight picture.
EDC Slide Setup:
• Barrel & Compensator: SilencerCo threaded barrel (1/2 x 28) with a PMM comp, extending the length to G34 dimensions.
• Recoil Spring: 15 lb recoil spring for reliable function with defensive loads.
• Carry Holster: Tier 1 Concealed APX, which handles the steel frame and comp well.
• Concealment Challenges: The Dawson Ice magwell and overall weight make concealment a bit tricky. I’ve mitigated printing by using OEM mags and looser shirts, but the setup is still bulkier than standard carry guns.
USPSA Slide Setup:
• Barrel & Compensator: KKM barrel with a 4-port SJC comp—tuned for soft, flat shooting.
• Recoil Spring: 10 lb Wolff spring for faster cycling and reduced recoil.
• Optics: Swampfox red dot for quick acquisition and precision on the move.
• Mag Extensions: +5 extended mag extensions for increased capacity during competition.
Performance and Tweaks:
Initially, I ran into some issues: • Failures to Eject/Extract: Solved with a Gen 4 ejector and first-gen extractor. • Locking Block: The proprietary CCF locking block sheared, so I modified a Gen 3 block to fit, and it’s been solid since. • Barrel Fitment: The steel frame requires all barrels to be machine-fit, and after fine-tuning, it runs flawlessly.
Just got an sct19 frame (feels awesome btw) for my Wuelf slide I've had on my oem frame and put a mag through it for a function check with no malfunctions. But There seems to be something marking or dragging on the primers. Also spent cases were fairly dirty on only one side instead of all the way around the rim. Any ideas or concerns? Can't get more than one pic in the post for some reason so I'll post casings in the comments
I kno they say you can get a Tier 1 concealed holster to fit the Align Tactical Gas pedal with a heat gun but I have a Alien gear duty holster do you guys think I can get it to fit the holster ?
Probably a really stupid question from someone who plays too much COD, but are there any open Emitter RMR optics on the market with magnifying windows?
From google searching and looking around, all I have been able to find are rail mounted magnifiers that would mount in front of an optic. It doesn't seem that open emitters with a magnifying lense actually exist.
Got the grit grips completed frame during the Black Friday sale, now all I really need is a slide and barrel and I have my first “glock” that uses rarely and oem glock parts lol
Had a Gen 3 that I dropped some coin on with an EPS Carry direct milled. Someone wanted it so I got a Gen 5 for RMR direct milled.
Dude bailed on the Gen 3 so I'm debating if I should get the slide re-cut for RMR, or try to flip it to recoup costs on a new slide properly cut for RMR.
Pics for your pleasure lol
So I’ve never had issues with my model 19 gen 4 before but I got the slide cerekoted as well as put in a new barrel (zaffiri) and now I’m getting light primer strikes. Granted I’m using Winchester (not the best ammo) but still I haven’t had these issues until I modded out my Glock. Any ideas of what I should do?
I'm thinking about ordering a black PSA micro C-1 slide for shits n giggles.
Which frame should I put it on?
The OEM or SCT43 that currently has my OEM slide on.
I keep going back and forth of which frame I like the best, but after I found these rapid engineering beaver tails, I think I want the OEM frame as my carry again. But need a different magwell as this shield arms one sticks out a little too much.
We think so 😁
Let me start by saying this is not a carry gun and is just a setup I use for tinkering and range time. It’s a PSA Dagger frame with P80 flat trigger shoe and Ghost Ultimate 3.5 connector. OEM Glock Gen4 trigger bar and Gen4 housing.
The issue is when the trigger safety tab is against the frame, the cruciform passes the drop shelf and is able to be pressed downward “failing the drop test”. I’ve verified it does not engage the safety plunger at this point, preventing the striker from coming forward in the event of a drop shelf safety failure.
With the trigger fully forward simulating battery, the cruciform is nowhere close to falling off the drop shelf. It’s ONLY when the trigger is partially depressed, relying on the trigger safety tab to do its job.
My question is, does anyone have a solution for this aside from building up the drop shelf or changing the trigger shoe? Is there a way to get more safety tab engagement? Is there a good way to tweak the bar to sit on the drop shelf more? Or is this just an issue with this shoe and this frame specifically?
The trigger feels fantastic so I’d love to keep it as-is if possible.
This was not an issue with an OEM Glock shoe and Ghost connector, but OEM Glock shoes feel like doo doo. (Easy fix is to swap shoes, I know)
Anyone else ever run into a similar issue?
Thanks.
It's never done, none of them ever are though so here's my WIP/Gucci micro. Threw on the "Primätia extended and raised slide release" and im kidding digging it. (Primätia-kagwerks) I'm running out of things to change.
Thinking of making a broke man’s version of the G45 eventually using that same frame for a clone G17 or G47.
I’ve been eyeballing PSA’s full size frame and playing around with it since I already have a G19.5 thought about using that slide to play around with the full frame. I know from research that the backplate will need to swap in order for the slide to work for that frame.
Kinda thought if I didn’t like it or care for it I could just sell the frame and cut my losses since it won’t be a huge loss imo.
So long story short what I want to ask is has anyone here done something similar using PSA’s dagger frames and a Glock slide?
I know this has been asked 50000000 times. Currently running Glock 45 with a Landers ported slide. It is my EDC, Duty and competition gun. Looking for legitimate suggestions for possibly getting a new trigger to safely fit all of the roles listed. Thanks!
First WML. I may run up to Academy to pick up a light, and the TLR-1 HL is available for $130 on my card. Any other recommendations?
I just got this light and I’m currently waiting for my T1C holster, and I’ve heard a lot of people say that a light that big can be uncomfortable. Is that true from y’all’s experience? Is it tolerable? Also, would a small wedge help if I place it right below the light bulge on the holster?
Does anyone know if there are rail compensators for a glock 48 gen 5
