I wonder if someone might be able to help out please?
I know I am going back in time, but I remember listening to a podcast a good few years ago and there was a story about a bloke who had a form of PTSD, but from things that haven't happened. For example he would visualise his family in a car crash and it was so real to him he suffered flashbacks to it, even though it never happened.
I am 99% sure it was a Reply All as I was on holiday at the time and had downloaded all the Reply All podcasts for the trip (but there may have been some others in there). I'm relistening to all the Reply All now but have yet to come across it. Does anyone recall this episode?
Thanks!
I've hunted around for this episode but can't figure out the title to look for it more specifically. Does anyone here remember that episode and know what they title was it where to find it?
So I found Science Vs and really enjoyed the way it dealt with certain subjects. Then I did some googling and found that sometimes the show massages information or doesn't interview 1st hand sources?
I ask because I desperately want a good quality science podcast that can be trusted to deliver accurate information in a way that isn't misleading and has a bit of humor and pizzazz. Where do I get that?
I think I missed something.
They did not say it was an update on an old episode or that it was a rebroadcast. However I can swear I heard much of this exact same episode in 2019 on the episode "Fasting Diets: what's the skinny?"
There's nothing in my episode notes (using PocketCasts) saying they revisited. I was listening on transit on my way home, so maybe I missed it in the beginning.
Prefacing by saying I've been a huge Science vs fan for the longest time. However time and time again, my least favorite part of the show is unfortunately the host. Her juvenile interjections on science based conversations, cringe laughter on mundane matters, and general cadence in conversation really takes away from what is a good concept for a podcast.
Anyone else feel the same way?
You can see the image here in an article released this month. Here is a screenshot:
I might be OOTL but I thought they laid off everyone at Heavyweight.

Anyone know who is running the feed lately?
What's the song at the end of Reply All 146 Summer Hotline?
…with a guy stuck climbing a fence?
The Oasis sanctuary website has some great photos of the birds:

the analogy really doesn't work but Gimlet being gutted and destroyed within years of being valued at $30 million is really something
Aside from the classics like This American Life, is anyone making well-produced podcasts that approach the quality of the old Gimlet ones? I'm not really interested in categories like "true crime" or "dudes shooting the shit."
The only thing I can find is one on CBD, but nothing on cannabis in general. Considering they've done ones on shrooms and, more recently, ecstasy and caffeine, I'd be surprised if they didn't have one on weed but I can't find it.
Hi! LOVED that episode and that show was awesome. Also huge fan of Science.
I JUST listened to this ep and that took me into taking a look at all these character's lifes and one thing got me wondering.... The ep is from early March 2020.... After like, 3 days, Universal Studios released Evan Scott's album. What happened? Did Universal Studio's "owner" listened to the ep and released his album just for the hype of the podcast episode aired 3 days earlier?
Also, Tyler Gillett (the guy who remembered the song) was about to release a new HBO show by that same month ("Ready or Not", if I remember correctly) AND he and his team were already producing the new movie SCREAM (you know... that from the horror mask with the open mouth haha). Those two things got me thinking.... I mean, I LOVED the episode. Its probably the coolest piece Ive eveeeer heard EVER.... But was all publicity for Universal's new release A FEW DAYS AFTER and the new Tyler's projects with HBO and the movie? In the episode, the band they hired to record the song from Tyler's memory even asked "Is this a hoax or something?". ANy thoughts or infos on that?
English is not my first language so I apologize if this comes out as an "a$$hole" thing to say. Im just wondering here, super excited after hearing this master piece! CHeers
Right on the begining of the last Science Vs. episode, they started talking about some news article about a 88 year old man found dead with an injury in his genitals.
The way the host and guests were mocking this poor man and the circumstances of his death was so shocking to me that I had to turn the podcast off and unsubscribe. I imagined if I were a relative of this person, how I would feel hearing this. Maybe he was someone's grandfather.
I couldn't listen until the end, so I might be missing some of the context, but I can't think of anything that would justify the cruel comments made.
Am I being too sensitive here?
