So I’m going to have a yard sale in the town wide yard sale next month. I’m trying to figure out how I can place items, our drive way is like of on a slope, we do share the front yard it’s a split duplex house, so I do have yard space. I have racks for clothes should I put that in the yard and lay blankets and tables out in the front of the driveway?

My trees are massive and dying.. branches fall all the time - small and large on my property.

I would love to have a yard / garage sale, but this is a concern. Can I put up a sign mentioning this risk? Because it could be a person or a car that gets hit. To the point, where I would prefer people parked at the nearby church ( if they allowed it.) Your thoughts?

I'm looking to build my mancave into a nostalgia room, with retro tvs and retro movies/games. That said, I'm specifically looking for VHS tapes and maybe some gamecube games, but really open to what's available in said categories.

Would these be items I could find at the average yard sale? Would I find deals or are sellers pretty savvy and sell at MV and higher with these, since I imagine they're always a hot item?

I was wondering if anyone heard of or thinks a garage sale map app would be a good idea? It would tell you from where you start a route to every garage sale in your town and maybe what will be in the garage sale? I myself think it will save time and gas.

I'm working on an idea to get more exposure for my business by selling concessions at yard sales of host that I solicit. I'm thinking of ways to sell this idea to the hosts like a percentage of my profits, publicity for their sale on my social media, or free food product.

For those having garage sales would you be ok with having a business show up with a concession booth? What would make it worth your while?

Hey guys! I've been a serial reseller for quite some time now, dabbling in various marketplaces. Lately, I've been pondering over when to list for the ideal time/money balance.

For instance, I'm currently in the process of moving out of New York and trying to sell off some of my belongings. For things like electronics, I can usually get them sold in a day/two for a good price. But I find that things like furniture or clothing take much longer. If I want to get rid of things quickly (within 1-2 weeks), posting on local buy/sell groups doesn't work, and sometimes I just rent a flea market booth and sell all my stuff there.

This situation got me thinking: How early should I be posting my items if I want to ensure they sell by a certain time? Are there any other tips ya'll have for getting things out quickly? Of course, if I give things out for free they go immediately, so I'm focusing on maximizing my profits still.
Moreover, when the selling date isn't urgent, but I still want to make some extra cash from items, how long do you guys usually wait to reduce the price or relist?

I need to order a dozen correlated yard sale signs to reuse in the future (it will have our address, arrows, and "Saturday 8-12" so that the date isn't relevant). We do yard sales twice yearly with friends so the cost is well worth it for us to get multi-use signs. We are near several major roads so these signs are critical for us to direct traffic into our neighborhood and we get good turnout.

I'm trying to decide if they should look like typical red/neon yellow yard sale signs or if I should design something more modern and "business like" in Canva? I know the former would be the typical attractant, but what do you think? Would you more likely stop at a yard sale if the sign looked like a cute modern graphic (like a coffee shop grand opening sign?)? The price will be the same either way I print them.

What is typical etiquette for the beginning of an estate sale? I posted some ads and folks have already asked if they can come early (which I'm not interested in).

I'm thinking about having them form a line at start time and each person gets to call dibs on one or two items.

Is it a faux pas to allow any bidding at the beginning of the sale?

I want it to be reasonably fair, but at the end of the day I'm just trying to get rid of stuff and make money.
