I’ve been wanting to go to edc japan for years. I plan on going this year. My question is when do they typically announce the exact dates. Trying to buy my flight tickets as soon as possible.
Hey from California! I’d love to hear from everyone’s who has been to EDC Japan. I’ve only ever been to EDC Las Vegas and it’s absolutely incredible in my opinion.
I have questions like..
Pros? Cons? How was the weather ? Do people go all out on outfits like edc LV? Is everyone nice? Is “plur’ alive there? How’s the lines to get in and for the rides?
I want to bring a mini-backpack but wanted to know if bags are allowed and if they are, do they have to be one compartment?
Hi I’m from the U.K. and wanting to buy a couple of GA tickets for EDC Japan on Saturday through the Lawson / Ministop method.
Currently in Japan and attempted to register to apply for the tickets online to then pick them up from a Lawson store.
The issue I’m running into is that I can’t verify my UK mobile phone number. Anyway around this? Or can I just buy the tickets in-store?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
So I’m going on Day 2 of this year’s EDC and I don’t have any companions yet ☹️ Anyone willing to let me tag along?
First time ever going to EDC and my first ever concert so to speak.
I’d like to meet up with some cool folks during my time there. Just hit me up if you wanna hang out!
Also, how should I go about preparing for EDC and is there anything I should bring with no matter what? And will I be able to bring along my Canon G7X Mark ii for this journey?
I bought some Tickets in ministop here in Japan, I paid in cash and they gave me what it looks like a normal ticket but I was told that the EDC tickets are like Bracelets so, are these the actual tickets and I just have to take them to the festival? or do I need to go somwhere to pick up the real ones? Help me please.
Was gong to get VIP tickets to edc japan 2019, not that i can afford them but i want a smooth experience for my girlfriend to her first concert ever. i used to crowd surf to Pearl Jam, and hit the mash pit to Metallica back in the day, so i'm good. is it worth the crazy price? is there a good vibe up there, and lots of dancing? I saw in 2017 the VIP section was way back from the stage but cant find any info on last year or this year.
I bought the first release ticket but my mates decided to bail and save their money for ultra lol, so looking for people to go with this coming May!
Does anyone know when the line ups get posted? I’m trying to get a plan together but we’re a few months out with no lineups.
Hello all,
Just thought I'd ask a few questions. I'm going to be attending solo. If anyone would like to meet up that would be cool alos
I'm from Australia and This is my first international music event that I have attended. I initially came to Japan for a holiday with friends and didn't even realise EDC was on this weekend!!
when purchasing tickets there's 2 blocks to choose from, L block and R block. Do these blocks just correspond to the entrance gates? Does it restrict anything else?
I love hardstyle music and am not much of a fan of house. Is it mainly house music that's played? I'm keen to go just for the Experience regardless.
in Australia drugs are a very big problem with music festivals. Is it also a large problem here too? I'm guessing it's is not as bad? I'm not sure. (This is also my first time in Japan)
Also in Australia drink prices are ridiculous. What's the average prices for drinks?
Am I able to bring my backpack with Me as I'll need to carry my portable charger and passport with me.
I'm currently staying in shinjuku. What's the easiest way to get there?
If there's anything else I should know please comment.
Thanks!
Going to EDC solo this year.
The story is my friend got occupied by work and I have booked everything, so I will be going to EDC Japan solo this year.
Just wanted to see if it is gonna be quite awkward for me to go alone. If possible also just wanted to see if there is any party I can join in as well.
I am a pretty chill guy. Know a bit Japanese, used to studying in Australia and now back to Hong Kong to work. :)
Nootz nootz nootz!!
Hi! We're going to EDC Japan this year and had 4 questions.
(EDC Las Vegas 2016 sold out 3 weeks before the event. We're trying to buy tickets later.)
Which block is better to avoid the sun at Zozo? Left block or right block? (Sensitive skin...)
We're currently traveling and don't have an address we can send the tickets to. Is there a will call option available?
How strict is security? Does it take a long time to get in for non-VIP guests?
Thank you!
Hi y'all, I was born in Seoul, Korea, but went to school in the States (high school - grad) and now back in Seoul living and working, etc.
Concerts wise, I've been to armin van buuren(philly) once, ColdPlay(SF), and Dave Matthews (SF and charlotte). But never a festival like EDC.
I loveeee deadmau5 and above&beyond, and I am thrilled that they will be coming to Japan, which is like just 3 hrs from where I live.
I have a friend who live in Tokyo so I can crash at his place.
Only concern is that I know no one who will be at the festival.
When I go to concerts, I go with friends and having a company is always x100 for the fun. My friend who's living in Tokyo is not into music that will be played at EDC atall. He said he would come if I pay for him, and I will be happy to pay for him, but I know that he won't enjoy it and that won't help me enjoy the show neither.
So I guess my question comes down to this.
Do you think I will be able to enjoy EDC without knowing anyone at the festival? I am a easy going dude with quite an open-mind.
Cheers!
Hey everyone!

This year I am back and ready to help anyone out while they are in Japan for this season! Just a little background info on me:
I moved to Japan 2 and half years ago to start a new life in this crazy city. I come from California, Bay Area! I decided I wanted to quit my job working at google and wanted to travel the world, but not only did I want to travel, I wanted to meet people and help them out with anything related to travels and cultural understanding.
Last year, I started to work as an airbnb experience host(tours) that host nightlife experiences in Tokyo! So this past year, I started my own little business in Japan via Social media called Livguide, a place to get information right away from actual locals!
I also speak Spanish, and Japanese!
So this year, I wanted to organize a bar hopping get together for anyone coming to Japan this year for EDC Japan! Even if you don’t drink, you should still come out and hang out with me! I love taking people around the local hidden areas and you’ll get first hand experience with locals!
If you use instagram, just follow me on my business page:Livguide. It’s the same for facebook in case you don’t use instagram. And if you don’t use neither, you can message me on here or on line app: Afcastillo64.
I hope you guys find this info useful, and would love to meet you all before, during, or after edc japan! Take care and don’t shy away from asking me for help!
This will be my first trip to Japan, my 5th EDC, and coming in a week before and staying for a week after, I really want to make the most of my one vacation this year.
So with all that said if anyone can provide some information on the pre and after parties, it would be much appreciated
I went to EDC Japan last year and I’ve been living a little south of Tokyo for a couple years now. I speak very little Japanese and I’m from Texas just as a background.
First thing: if you’re booking a hotel and want to go to the after parties at (probably) AgeHa, Womb, or EleTokyo than DO NOT book a hotel near the event (in Chiba). Trains here stop running pretty early, around midnight, and don’t start up until about 5-6AM depending on the line. Womb is very close to the Shibuya station. AgeHa is a little bit away from the Shibuya station, but you can take a free bus from there to the club. I’ve never been to EleTokyo though so I’m no help there haha.
Second: Once again, when it comes to booking..just choose Shibuya. It was such a major pain in the ass that we chose to stay in Chiba by Makuhari Messe 🙄 We chose an air bnb that was supposed to be close to the event..and it was, but we couldn’t get on a line that actually connected to Makuhari Messe from where we were and that forced us to get a taxi. Luckily my friend could speak Japanese so she called for one. If not, we would have had to walk for like an hour.
Third: The whole L-R thing is literally just left or side of the arena for the main stage. I would choose L because it is way more accessible than R. The R is waaayyy on the other side and pretty inconvenient.
Fourth: The beach stage has basically no ADA compliance that I saw. It really has no way to get where the stage is unless you’re walking through the sand. There is no flooring put down or anything, it’s just right on the sand so bring some sandals or something because I was dumping sand out of my vans for days 😂 Sunglasses and bandanas will help keep the sand out of your eyes/mouth/nose too 🙏🏼
Fifth: The portapotties are a trap 😂 They are the “squattypotties” and the other bathrooms they have by the Circuit Grounds stage on the beach are portapotties too. I would also recommend bringing some travel tissues because toilet tissue was scarce.
My one big complaint was that there were no carnival rides at all, so I’m hoping it happens this year. I also think the production quality from last year wasn’t up to par with the Insomniac brand, but I’m still excited to go this year 💗
Canadian traveling to Tokyo for EDC Japan, first time at the event and also first time in Japan. Will be flying in on Friday and leaving Monday. Looking for details on places to stay ? should I choose closer to the event like APA Hotel & Resort or more into town. Hostels or Hotels ? when buying tickets, take R or L tickets Traveling Solo. Any information would help, Cheers
