Dunmeri Language

Hi there. Are there any tutorials or articles that can be used for learning Dunmeris? I mean not just articles with general description of the grammar, but full tutorials on learning the language. If not, I'm planning to create my own set of tutorials how to learn Dunmeris including exercises for practice. I've already collected almost all Dunmeri words I could find(Dunmeris has about 1000 words). Your opinion?

Why do you love dunmer?

Hi, i recently found about this awesome sub after years of discussing dunmer superiority with those N'Wahs on ES forums. Dunmer are my favorite TES race and possibly my favorite fantasy race ever. I like them cause the Morrowind setting and the Dunmer lore is just incredible. I love their outcast nature, their sense of superiority and their general badassesness. Oh, and they live in big mushrooms, whats not to like? Those are not things i value IRL but, as fantasy goes, why would i choose a boring imperial, a dumb nord, a snobby elf, an uncivilized bosmer, or a half baked breton? Kitties and farming equipment aren't really a choice either. Redguards are kinda cool i guess. What are your reasons?

In terms of lore. What’s the best build for a dark elf? And also what factions.

I’m starting a new game as a dunmer so what would be the best build for a dunmer in regards to ES lore? I’m thinking of joining the Stormcloaks actually since the Dunmer are known for xenophobia and extreme love for their homeland I think in reality the dunmer would fit in with the Stormcloaks. Also Windhelm is home to many Dunmer so there’s also that. I don’t know what other factions I would join.

Anyone up for reading a Morrowind story?

My facination with Vvardenfell and the dark elves led me to write a story following different characters in the questlines of Morrowind. Check it out.

House Redoran Military

How does the Dunmer/Redoran military compare in discipline to everyone else as of 4E 201? I understand Redoran now controls most of Dunmer-held Morrowind, so they should be able to recruit mich larger armies, and with greater Council control, though should have access to resources first, no?

LoTR and TES Comparison?

I haven't read the Sil in a long time, but after seriously re-reading a lot of Dunmer lore, they really remind me of the Noldor and Feanor in some ways. Between leaving "paradise", having a very martial and warlike history, and suffering a lot of internal struggles. Now they're pretty wiped out, like the Noldor as well. Am I seeing what I want to, or have others seen this as well?

St. Jiub

Are there any theories regarding how St. Jiub rid Vvardenfell of Cliff Racers?

If there are, I'd love to here em.

Morrowind becomes and imperial territory

I'm making a D&D campaign based in third Era Tamriel and I want to know if I can include some war veterans from the wars between the Dunmer and the Imperials. When did Vivec and Uriel Septim sign the treaty?

What do you like most about the Dunmer race?

Dark Elves are my favorite race to play as. What originally made you want to play as one?

For me I was just wanting to try something new in Skyrim, and I ended up playing as a Dunmer girl, which ended up being the most fun I've had in a single play through. Since then I've played a Dunmer in Oblivion (which got me started on TES) and I've had at least 5 more characters in Skyrim.

So what made you want to play as a Dunmer? What do you like best about them?

[WiP] Progress Report

So, we're 8/27th's of the way done. Which, given our own individual situations is really good progress.

Good news, I'm done school tomorrow and work 3 days out of the week (part time, so not even full 8 hour days)

As always anyone who wishes to help us is welcome to, being knowledgeable in the field is a helpful bonus.

Next on my list is the war of the first council.

That's about it...

Organizing the Lore Compendium

This right here is what I'm going to be using to organize all the work. If you mess with it I swear I will make things unpleasant. People who are working on it will post stuff here, and I will transcribe it over to the doc.

Comment here if you're working on something and what it is so I can cross it off the list.

If you have a suggestion for something else to add, comment here.

Hey Everybody

Sorry for the inactivity, senior year's coming to a close and stuff's getting busy. I'll try to be more active soon.

In other news, some of you may have noticed that we have two new mods. Toby and Havel have been added to make the sub look nicer. Check out /r/csec for an example of their work. Hopefully we'll see some nice changes to the sub soon.

Activity

My apologies for being inactive as of late, school, robotics, drama club and a bunch of other stuff is preventing me from contributing to the sub. With senior year starting to come to a close I won't have much free time until May. I'll try to contribute things when I can.

[Announcement]

Well we're just over a month old and have hit 100 subs! I personally am incredibly impressed by how far this sub's gone for being about such a specific subject. Next up, 200 subs!

In other news, I'll probably have the stuff about ancestor worship up sometime soon, I made a post some time back about it so I'll probably be using at least some of that when I write it up.

That's all for now,
