Going to replace my decade plus old Dell XPS
Pretty much only need my desktop for basic work stuff (Microsoft Office) and other than that I store my music (Sonos) and movies (Plex). Other than that I need to be able to run 2 monitors. I'd like to make sure I have high speed data transfer and room for multiple drives inside.
Would love to keep it under $1000 but can go more.
Any suggestions?

Looking for a new desk with adjustable height, wireless charging, keyboard tray, cable management and outlets to plug equipment into it. I didn’t know how difficult it would be to find a desk like this till I started searching and getting no luck. If there’s any alternatives that could give me something similar, I am open to the idea. And hopefully the desk isn’t some huge table, looking for a nice medium sized desk. If you guys can provide anything, it’s appreciated. Currently trying to correct spelling in title…
I have an older Dell XPS (8500) is it possible to upgrade the USB to somethung more modern (faster)? And if it is, how easy is this to do?
I've done basic hardware upgrades myself - soundcard, video card, added SSD's and such but this is the one thing that is making my older desktop a bit of a headache to keep (the slow transfer speeds).
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, I'm trying to organize my desktop and make a folder for all of the elder scrolls games to go into (1 folder for all 5 games to be in) I wanted to use the ouroboros ES Online uses because it looks neat and fits the vibe of the series quite well, but Im struggling to get the image as an .ico file on my own. I tried resizing the image I wanted but converting it makes it super blurry. I tried looking up how to fix it but im not really finding anything that isnt what I already know (that the icon needs to be 256x256 and in the ico format) can someone please help me? much appreciated ^^ sorry if this isnt the proper subreddit. Image Im hoping to use is below
I’ve done some research and with the recent deals I was looking for some advice on what desktop to buy. I game pretty frequently and play all sorts of things. I want the best graphics and bang for my buck, looking for the ultra high seamless game play
What should I buy?
This is my first desktop in a while so I went for something easy, wallpaper is custom as well as the weather icons and the app launchers, all else is by other people :3
when i boot up my PC (windows 11), my memory already hits more than 60%. That is when nothing is open. The moment i boot something up, like a game, or start my stream (i sometimes stream on twitch) the RAM goes way higher. This results in my stream or game sometimes lagging alot. Is there any way to fix the high memory?
(for information, i have 16GB of ram- which is why im wondering how there is so much memory being used in the first place)
Now I wanted to demonstrate my desktop.
I did everything with Windhawk. I created the bar at the top with Nexus.
the background image is with Wallpaper Engine.
I worked through various mods for Windhawk and am still trying to make it even better.
You can rate it and I would be happy if you would like it.
The same cord works great for my Xbox with the same monitor but recently when I plug it into my computer my monitor says hdmi no signal. I was able to fix it for a short time by just unplugging my computer and plugging it back in but now that doesn’t work anymore. Any idea how I can fix this?
Here's my customized Windows 11 setup inspired by the Catppuccin Macchiato theme! 🐱☕ Using Winfetch for system info, Lf for file management, and MusikCube for music playback and Helix for code Editor —all wrapped in a minimal, aesthetic look. Let me know your thoughts!
I do Ancestry, like over 200,000 on one tree and I write letters and save pictures. Not much. I'm 65 and need to upgrade in the near future. My computer can't be upgraded anymore.
