Hello!! So I'm in a pitch, my plans to go with my brother fell through and I didn't think I had a chance to go but my friend that is going and wanted me to a least try and figure something out so I am. To add a piece of information real quick my friend is going with his dad so I do have an adult ticket involved but the problem is that he, his dad already bought the ticket and like said I can't buy a kid's ticket without an adult ticket with the purchase so I have a few ideas but unsure of if they will work. First is that can you add on a kids ticket onto for a pre-bought adult ticket? If not my other idea is that can you can buy a kid's ticket on the day of the comic con of course with an adult with us and an adult ticket? If not is there any other way I can get a kid's ticket without maybe trying to recourse my plans with my brother? Because that probably won't happen and I really want to go with him but don't really have the money for an adult ticket.....and I'm twelve too so I really don't want to as this is my last year going with a kid ticket as I'll thirteen by next comic con.......Does anyone have any answers or other ideas? Please help ;-;
This will be the second time I'll have a table at Denver Pop Culture Con (Formally DCC) and I'm having a little trouble figuring out a few things:
-Waterfall rack; is that a wall you can use to display artwork?
-Should I look into paying for a few electrical services?
-What could help me bring in more potential readers?
-How many pieces and how many copies of said pieces should I have on hand?
I'm a little overwhelmed...
I'm a bit torn on their decision to change the name. The email they sent out (included in this article https://theknow.denverpost.com/2018/09/24/denver-comic-con-changes-name-to-denver-pop-culture-con/196185) has good reasons, such as the possible legal issue with SDCC and the whole Pop Culture Classroom involvement, but I'm still kind of bummed about the change. I felt similarly when they changed the Cosplay Shindig to the Cosplay Classic, but I wanted to hear what other people think about the name change. Do you all like it, or not so much?
Anyone know estimated date for when 2019 badges will go on sale?
Hello everyone,
I am looking for a Breckenridge Brewery Snape-ricot pint glass. I am trying to collect all the pint glasses for every year that I have went and that is the only one I am missing.
Does anyone have a spare pint glass?
I went to Denver comic Con 2018 on Saturday and went to an artist's booth who said she was contracted with Disney, and she had beautiful pieces. She was working alongside another artist who did fantasy pieces as well.
I'm trying to find the name the of female artist that did the Disney pieces. She had a dumbo, frozen, and Ariel piece up, as well as an original she made of an Angel.
Is anyone able to help me out in finding her? I already went through pretty much ever female artist on the exhibitor page and still couldn't find her. Thanks in advance!
Hello! I am looking for one of the Captain Colorado shirts from DCC 2018. Does anyone have any ideas where to find one, or have one to sell? The normal avenues (google) has not been fruitful. Men's, side M or L. I was there, but I didn't see this amazing shirt till later.
I'm doing some research on conventions and was wondering how much money they cost to set up and maintain. I'm looking forward to the response.
I remember seeing an ad for a Journey Live concert. As in Journey the video game, not the band. I don't have the booklet anymore, does anyone else have details or a site I can visit to buy tickets? I couldn't find it through google.
Thanks!
I'm just curious if anyone has any insights in to why DC comic book artists and writers seem to be very well represented at DCC the last couple years but Marvel not so much. Is there some kind of exclusivity agreement in place (IE DC will send some great talent if Pop Culture Classroom agrees to give them the spotlight at the con), or does someone working with Denver Comic Con just have a better working relationship with DC perhaps?
What happened to Sci-Fi Speed Dating?
Wow! I can't get over how nice it's been to basically just stroll in to the Con on Friday and Saturday. As luck would have it we haven't been able to arrive early to queue up, like we've done in years past. We've arrived right around 10am both mornings, and while we were expecting to wait at least an hour, maybe more to get in, we just walked right in. Could. Not. Believe it.
Kudos the team that put together this year's plan.
I seriously only want to see the two guardians cast members and I remember years past being stoked to see Bruce Campbell, Edward James Olmos, Michael Rooker, etc.
I wouldn't mind if the price reflected the scale of the con (in terms of panels/guests/vendors, not the attendees they claim to have), but a Saturday ticket is more expensive than a Saturday SDCC badge.
Im a comic con vet but i'll be alone tomorrow and sunday. If anyone would like to meet up and talk about anything nerdy, especially anime, music, or video games, comment! ill message you my phone number and we can meet up and hang out!
Does anyone know what the deal is with the food in the food court?
e.g. Is it actually decent (Quality and variety)? Are the prices bumped up a bit? Or should I expect to just find lukewarm churros and suspicious burgers?
I intend to bring some snacks with me but I'm going to need more food.
Edit: Thanks everyone! I wound up walking to 5280.
My daughter is very keen to attend the Scholastic panel at 10:30am on Saturday; most of her favorite authors are speaking during that session (Jeff Smith, Raina Telgemeier, Kazu Kibuishi).
I've read that the lines to get into the Con can be very long on Saturday morning. I plan to grab our badges on Thursday to save some time.
How early should we plan on showing up to make it to this panel on time?
