When the SLC Comic Con opened its first year, it grew to be the fourth largest comic con in the U. S.
This subreddit is to store info from the previous year and announce updates for 2014.
This is a sub for everything related to the SLC comic con and FanX (Easter Weekend)

I see no one has talked on here for a while so I may not get an answer. But I am thinking of getting a photo op with Stephen Amell, my favorite actor who has changed my life personally. However my family only has one day there this year and don’t want to make them spend all day just for me to get a photo.
I'm reaching out on a limb because I cannot find this piece of art anywhere.
I have this absolutely beautiful art print of Rey and BB8 in front of Utah Delicate Arch that I purchased back in 2017 in Artist's Alley. I can post the art if you guys would like but it's one that once you see it you don't really forget it.
I super super regret never getting it signed, and I have no idea who the artist is, though I talked with her at the convention when I bought it. Is there anybody out there who may be familiar with this piece who knows the artist? Or a way I may be able to find this information out? I've tried googling it but I haven't been able to find it.
So Events that are directly related to the convention that happen afterwords. Like a Cosplay Rave , or Speed Dating, etc. they had these at most of the other events I’ve been to but I haven’t been to FanX since the first one and I went with my parents so I didn’t exactly get to hangout for too long at the Con.
I'm only able to go to Saturday's fan X. I wanted to know if it would be worth it to buy a gold pass?
I was wondering if it’s possible to buy tickets for fall anywhere yet. Anyone know where or when I can buy tickets?
I’m thinking I might be a vendor at a future FanX. Is there anyone here that has been a vendor before? How about anyone who has sold unique, one of a kind items? How did you do with what you sold?
I’m so excited to FanX! Unfortunately, I only get to go to Saturday due to school. There are so many panels that I want to listen to on Thursday and Friday though! Does FanX have a twitch or anything they’ll be streaming on? AnimeExpo in California did that, I don’t know if it’s a common thing but I really hope there’s a way I would be able to listen to the panels. Thanks!
Hey guys, i haven’t gotten my wristbands or anything yet, should I be concerned? My friend got them about a week ago
Hey, FanX-ers.
First year at FanX here in Salt Lake, first big convention (do we count GamesCon as "super big"?) and my friend group will be dressing up as our DnD characters.
As a rogue, I'm going to have some form of dagger and shortbow combination. However, the roadblock I've found is that steel / metal weaponry is not permitted.
Any suggestions as to where I could find a dagger that both looks decent and is permitted in SLC FanX?
Cheers, see you all in September.
I'm attending FanExpo Canada next month and excited that one of my favorite actresses, Famke Janssen will be there. Sadly I have received a huge amount of negative experiences from fans who saw her at the London Film & Comic Con 2016 and was really hoping it was an isolated incident and not her norm.
Can anyone who got an autograph from her or a photo op share their experience? It has me on the fence about buying a photo op ticket as I would hate to have half the bad experience that other fans have reported. Thank you!
I just bought a ticket with the student discount option, however my school does not issue any type of identification card. What would be the best way for me to prove that I am in school without an id card?
Was wondering if anybody had a coupon code for Salt Lake Comic Con tickets before I purchase them. I plan on purchasing them tomorrow morning so was seeing if anybody had a spare. Thanks in advance
I don't normally do design contests, but I had some old art that I repurposed and thought it was fun concept. Notice the Utah shape in the heart...Ehhhh? Right?
Hi, I ended up with a couple of extra passes for San Diego Comic Con. I am looking for people who would like to split gas and a room, but I'm also open to just selling them. I am planning to leave Salt Lake Wednesday morning and head back Sunday afternoon.
So I activated a couple of 3 day passes a couple minutes ago and on the activation status for the product it says VIP pass, but the passes are white. Are they VIP or is that just how they show up when it's a 3 day pass?
For a bit of context on my situation, a family member was in Comic Con last year, and since I literally couldn't find the link anywhere to pay for a booth, he sent me a link. A woman working at FanX called me and told me that doing that could lead to being banned from future events, but since neither the family member or I knew, she said it should be fine this time around. That's one thing that's making me nervous, and I want some sort of confirmation. The $200 is withdrawn from my account, and it's next month. How long is it going to take to hear back from them??
