I assume it's mostly left aisle/supporters of the democratic party in here. Although the term "supporter" may be a bit off these days. I mean... Are you still a supporter of the democratic party as a whole if you voted for their candidate in this last election? I certainly wouldn't wanna assume this. How can you be? — They failed hard. Like so very, damn hard. And you don't have to be either or, for now. You CAN ABSOLUTELY be nothing for now.
I'm not even sure Trump supporters are fully aware of what exactly will happen. In fact, nobody really knows yet. There's project 2025 of course but there's no guarantee it'll be implemented exactly as is.
Am I way off here? — Is the political identity in this sub more diverse here than I thought? Cause you can definitely watch Jon Stewart and hate only the Democrats. You'll still get your laughs in these days (and for the foreseeable future).
Or you could be watching the interview with the intellectual dimwits and wonder how they survive but still have your own reasons for voting Trump that are different from what you hear the daily show broadcast. One of the more likely situations unfortunately is that you saw Kamala saying "There is not a thing that comes to mind" (in response to being asked "What would you do differently?" — All Trump's team had to do was rebroadcast it)
Maybe not AS much, so yeah... Not thinking we got a lot of Joe Rogan viewers or Fox News viewers watching but the enemy is always checking in every now and again
I feel like the show has a very clear agenda.
Let's be real, wether you watch it on tv or on your phone... the media plays a big role in people's lives and has the power to shift views and shape minds. — There's a reason why in Russia the government likes to retain control of mass media.
However, I don't think you can blame this one on the media. That wouldn't hold up. Except for "People probably trust the wrong types of media" — that statement probably holds up.
P.S.: >!Hey guys, don't hate me for voting for Trump BY THE WAY. Him winning is not due to my absentee ballot vote. I did it fully aware the country will likely do worse. Which it truly would deserve. Being pretty sure due to your fucked up voting system that it ultimately wouldn't matter. I am a citizen, right now. I haven't wanted to be since 2016 but I'm not willing to pay a multiple of thousands of dollars just to get rid of my citizenship. Plus I still have senior citizens folks of mine living there so the issue is a bit more complex. Right I am the American Nazi! Please let me just be a NAZI. — Full disclosure: I don't call myself a NAZI (cause it wouldn't be accurate). But my Indian gay friend insists since my other nationality is GERMAN. Alright, he's not gay. But I'm sure he won't be offended I wrongfully accused him of the opposite sexual orientation. Especially since I didn't mention his name. So he'll never ever find out. (Kidding again. I'll screenshot this of course.)!<
Third and final round of this poll that I have run every few months in 2024. See how the community's opinions have changed over time:
Here are counts of episodes hosted by correspondent in 2024 (as of November 27):
^(For those curious, Jon Stewart has hosted 31 episodes (4 live shows) in 2024 so far.)
Which correspondent did you enjoy the most as host?
needle in a haystack but maybe someone remembers. he was talking about the difference between america and other countries that take in refugees, specifically about how the american process gets people to assimilate to our culture more than other countries. that we integrate people throughout our communities and not segregate them to small parts of towns. pretty sure he wrote a book or something. if anyone remembers i would greatly appreciate it.
Desi shows a clip of Trump talking about eliminating the Department of Education, and wow, does he look like he is not going to be healthy enough for a full term. His skin is so blotchy even through the bronzer.
Not that things will be any better under Vance.
Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone might have some insight to help me with this. Yesterday, my friend and I were in general admission for tickets through 1iota, but unfortunately, we were the last two people who didn’t make it in. A woman who worked there came out and told us we could both get VIP tickets since they couldn’t get us in that day. She said to email her with three dates that worked and that her email would be available on 1iota.
However, when I checked 1iota today, I couldn’t find her email because my tickets have disappeared. Has anyone had a similar experience or happen to know the email for contacting The Daily Show about this? I’d really love to get the VIP tickets but have no idea who to reach out to now.
Thanks in advance!

I dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I'm curious if anyone has any information on an old Daily Show piece. It was, in my memory, in response to a Glenn Beck thing where he was sad things in the world in October 2009 weren't like the old "Hey Kid, Catch!" Coke commercial from 1979 / SuperBowl 1980. The Daily Show correspondent interviewed someone who was an adult in the 80s who said actually things were bad then too, then found someone saying it was better in the 50s, and then the 20s, and then concluding actually maybe nostalgia for when someone was a child isn't trustworthy.
At least that's my memory of it! Perhaps ironically, there's a good chance I'm misremembering a good portion of this thing from when I was younger. Does anyone know what episode that would have been on so I can find it, or have a link to where I could watch it again?
I have the last two nights of TDS recorded. I've been watching for 25+ years. I'd rather watch the Desi episode first, then Jon. That's it, that's the post.
He was my favorite source of news and humor.
Now I don't find him funny and I dont feel well informed.
Part 2&3 cannot be found anymore, but I was able to put together links from internet archives to find them.
