In the second part of "Warped" Kronos tries to time travel back to the big-bang and as GL Jon Stewart and Batman try to catch him Jon says that the Lanterns have a prophecy that no one must see the beginning of time, and what started COIE was one time traveler flying too close to the sun and went back to the beginning of time to find a hand cradling the cosmos like GL and BM were trying to avoid. So does this mean the Crisis occurred and the OA guardians knew what happened and gave strict warnings that no one should see the Big Bang to prevent another Crisis?
This just strikes me as so odd, and nobody seems to be remarking on it. So Hawkgirl was engaged to Hro Talak, explicitly said she was in love with him, went on a mission to earth and just kinda... forgot about him and started a new relationship with John, only to kinda temporarily toss him aside when Hro comes back until they have their falling out at which point she decides she's in love with John more? That is... an unspeakably dickish move, and frankly that's grounds for never getting back together even ignoring the whole betraying the entire human race thing. And yet the second Hro's beaten, he's just never brought up again, forgotten like the villain of the week he was, leaving only the discomfort of her betraying the human race to stand in the way of her relationship with John? Seriously? Is there something I'm missing? why is she given a free pass in this area? Talk about double standard…
How much does Bruce pay Terry, if he pays him at all? From what I've seen after re-watching some of the series, Mrs. McGinnis seems to have occasional trouble making ends meet before and after Terry starts taking his job "seriously". My memory is shot to hell but didn't somebody say that Terry was the breadwinner of the family?
Basically canary comments offhandedly about Mandragora's impenetrable bulk and is later unable to take him down with her scream
I can't confirm but I vaguely remember that, many years ago, it was said that Bruce Timm was a huge Marvel fan and a Space Knight fan, so it was him that make those Marvel references in the DCAU(?)
If I remember well there is also quickly a Captain America in red and blue (instead of blue and red) using also a shield, in JLU
Not sure how else to title this, but out of all DC cartoon fanbases, Teen Titans fans in particular are some of the more stranger people I've met. All they really seem to do is sob and rant endlessly about how the show is over. It's been 17 years since it ended now. Aren't there better uses of your time?
And I understand pining for more of a show you really love, I do. But fans of other cancelled DC cartoons aren't really doing it to that degree. You don't see herds of people ranting and raving about how Static Shock or Batman: The Brave and the Bold were cancelled. Hell in the latter's case, it has 65 episodes and a movie. Exactly like Teen Titans. And Brave and the Bold fans seem satisfied with what they have.
Even people who like shows that WERE cancelled too soon, like The Zeta Project or Green Lantern: The Animated Series, aren't crying nearly as much as Teen Titans fans, who has 65 great episodes to enjoy. That's a decent amount! The "cliffhanger" argument tends to come up a lot, but anybody who thinks that's a cliffhanger needs to up their media literacy or just do some quick research, because they made it with the purpose of being the end.
And then there's the hating of Teen Titans Go. Obviously the show is a far cry in quality compared to the original. But it's just a silly comedy show aimed at kids, who cares? I find it funny most of the time. But why is it that Teen Titans fans have all this energy to complain about the show merely existing, when in equivalent cases, you don't really see people raging at, say, Batwheels because it's a terrible iteration of Batman compared to BTAS.
Of course, I know all fanbases will differ, obviously. But there is a lot of overlap within fans of DC animation, though Teen Titans fans tend to be a bit more insular. It's definitely the most unhinged fanbase of all DC media I've seen. Young Justice fans are the runner-up.
Do you kind of wonder how Nightwing was unable to overpower Harley Quinn when she was on top of him and tickling him? She even pinned both of his arms on her bed to keep him from getting up. This was in Batman and Harley Quinn.
In Static Shock, Batman mentions that Robin (Tim Drake) leads the Teen Titans and that the eponymous hero and his partner Gear will meet them someday.
There is also mention of “The Green One” presumably Beast Boy. We see Speedy in JLU, so we know that some of the sidekicks/partners are around.
Which young heroes would compose the DCAU’s Teen Titans?
Do you kind of wonder how Harley was able to drag or carry Nightwing back to her rundown apartment after she knocked him out in Batman and Harley Quinn?
Now that we know it’s finally OFFICIALLY releasing, any specific tracks from certain episodes you want on Vol. 1?
For me circe takes the cake. We shouldve gotten more of her. Her appearance in JLU is what solidified her as my favorite WW villan
Announced by composer Kristopher Carter today:
So I know JLU and Batman Beyond are connected series, but what other animated shows/movies are connected in the DCAU. Always been a fan of DC but I haven’t read many of the comics and most of the shows I watched when I was too young to remember.
“Nile crocodiles [have] the strongest bite at 5,000 pounds per square inch (PSI) and saltwater crocodiles having a bite force of 3,700 PSI”
I’ve already checked out the comics that were directly inspired by the DCAU (JL Adventures, JLU Adventures, JL Infinity) as well ad Adventures in the DC Universe.
I’m thinking about checking out Justice League New 52 or Justice League International. Do you have an opinion on either?
