Gotta say, in the play they are nerdier than I thought!!! Scorpius especially!! Lmao like he is sooo lame/silly in the play but in an endearing way. I didn't picture him like that with reading the script at all. Lol.
3 hugs total. They held hands briefly as Albus pulled Scorpius into a hug. Scorpius seemed REALLY affected by the hug. Like full-body affected. He was shaking in his eccentric way. š¤£
They unfortunately cut out Albus crying when Harry said he couldnāt be with Scorpius. š¢ It was sweet at the end when Albus was hurt when Scorpius said he wanted Rose in his palace of harmony. Albus was like, "Are you sure that's all you want?" or something like that. They looked like they were about to kiss or something, and then Rose showed up and said, "It's only awkward if you make it!" Like she wanted them to just hurry and kiss already!!
But the fact that Delphine could tell Albus was in love with Scorp when the whole time she was flirting w Albus and thus barely saw them interact but she must've seen enough. Delphine literally sed to Albus, "At first I thought ur weakness was trying to please ur dad, but now I know its love" and pointed right at Scorpius!!!
But with their last hug, Scorpius said he wanted this to be something new they did, and he meant it in a way that he wanted it to be their new normal! And then ofc Albus's coming out scene to Harryā¦ Godddds, like you just know by 6th yr these two would be an item.
As a major Drarry shipper who loved HPCC especially for the immense drarry, it was kind of a disappointment in that respect (they cut out most of the impactful drarry scenes from original script). They must've chosen to cut it for more Scorbus moments.. But it made no sense then, to cut out Albus crying? ?? But it was literally SO AWESOME & FUCKING AMAZING overall.
I got the chance to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway again tonight, after the new shortened version debuted on November 12th. Previously, I saw the show on Broadway 3 times this year, in the post-pandemic version (one night, 3hrs 30mins).
I was very impressed with how they managed to cut an additional 35 mins of content without losing any of the illusions, choreography, and artistic staging. I was especially worried about the score and choreography, but that was mostly untouched. While the story felt a bit more rushed at points, the dialogue was adjusted in a very smart way. The emotional scenes and big sequences were left alone, while the smaller scenes (office, house, etc.) were trimmed more significantly. Because of this, I likely missed many of the subtle changes, which is a good thing! Here is everything I noted:
Run time: 2 hrs 55 mins
I know general sales start tomorrow at 9/26 10 AM PDT but does anyone have the presale code? Would love to snag an A row seat before the masses...
The play is in another state, so we're driving out at 10 am even though it starts at 2 pm CST! I'm hoping for a lot of Scorbus gay moments lol :D I'll update later! rn its 8 am. My eyes literally popped open at 6:30 am lol. (WAY early for me.) gahhh so excited!!
I havenāt seen the show ever but I know the original was 3.5 hours with two parts and the national tour is 2.5 hours in one sitting.
Is there a lot of material missing? Iām just curious if any of yāall know what was cut and if you think itāll affect the overall experience.
WHAT DID EVERYONE THINK?
So, I finally got to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tonight and I'm buzzing! My partner isnāt a huge HP fan so I need friends to discuss. What did you all think?
A few thoughts:
Albus and Scorpius: I was livinggg for the chemistry between Albus Severus and Scorpius - it was so well done. Screw JKRās canon, because that relationship was beautiful. Iām honestly sad that despite some mild incest (kissing your Aunt?), we didnāt see the leads kiss. Would have loved that little update.
Luggage as Set: I loved how they used luggage for so many different things. It was a clever and versatile way to create different environments.
Time Travel Effects: The lighting effects during the time travel scenes were mind-blowing. Someone needs to explain how they pulled that off.
Polyjuice Potion: The Polyjuice Potion transformations were really impressive, especially the kids. The Potter-Voldemort transformation felt a bit clunky, but I'm chalking that up to it being opening night.
What did everyone think about the show? Let's discuss!
Which actor was the best Harry since the start of the cursed child in London?
Hi potterheads. I'm trying to find footage of the whole show at the Palace Theatre with David Ricardo Pearce as HP. Anyone got a link??
I'm right now writing a Harry Potter midquel. Everything that takes place between Deathly Hallows and Cursed Child. I'm trying to write it as Canon as possible. I know it's a fanfic but I'm trying to make it LOOK Canon, by not changing stuff for my liking. But more for the story. But I keep running into mind blocks.
Has anybody here bought the merchandise of the cursed child?
I purchased a wand of Albus Potter, and I fancy it.
What merchandise of the cursed child did you buy? (just curious)
I am looking to buy tickets for Harry Potter at the Chicago Nederlander Theater. I am trying to see if anyone could tell me about the first row of the balcony and if my 10 and 12 year old will be able to look over the edge?
I have checked reviews online and only one person mentioned it so I was hoping for other input.
Thanks!
It's been two years since Japan started the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." I'm a Japanese living in Japan but I still can't see it. It's quite far from Tokyo to where I live in.
The Cursed Child has controversial points. And I pick one up. Black people act as Hermione and Rose. But in Japan, Japanese actresses act as Hermione and Rose. So they're NOT black.
Would you prefer all Asian characters or black Hermione and Rose?
Hey there :)
I have seen some threads where people compared the two-part-version from West End to the revised one-part-version in other countries.
But I think that the two-part-version in London has made some changes as well. Does anyone know what the changes are compared to earlier years?
Thanks š
is it a good option? its the first time i am watching a broadway show so no clue at all!! (75 usd)
Hey! So Iāve seen cursed child on broadway last year, I only found out today that it seems like the version I saw if different to the version currently showing on the west end thatās in 2 parts. Can someone please confirm this and let me know if itās worth seeing it again so I can see the longer version?
Hey there Anyone here who have a bootleg from harry potter and the cursed child in Hamburg?

Hi, for a cosplay I'm searching the hufflepuff-patches which were sold in the theater. Unfortunately they don't sell them in Germany and the British shop doesn't send to us. Could anybody help me out?
I won these tickets in the Friday Ā£40 lottery but canāt attend. Theyāre such amazing seats I would hate for them to go to waste. Just asking to recoup what I paid. E-tickets. Iāll happily accept PayPal goods & services.
Planning on going to the show this weekend but have a few questions about the NYC show I was hoping to get some guidance
Taking my 9 year old who is scared of dementors, how often do they appear in the show? If we sit in row S under the balcony is that far enough away from the dementor action
Thanks!
Anyone have cheaper Hotel ideas that is close enough to drive or walk? Iāve never stayed in NYC before, any advice? Iām seeing play at Lyric Theater!:)

Hello- I am looking for 2 tickets to the show on 17/09/2022 or 16/09/2022 in London.
Hi everyone! This is a super random question but I am booking tickets to see the show at the Curran in SF later this month. It's actually my second time seeing it there, but I'm opting for orchestra this time as opposed to loge. I'd love to be on an aisle when Voldemort walks out into the audience, but I can't remember which aisle he takes? I want to say house right? If anyone remembers this super specific detail, I'd be very grateful!
Also, I am looking at second row orchestra, which I understand will obstruct the back of the stage (I saw the NY show in fourth row orchestra), but do you think it's worth the extra $110 to sit 4-5 rows back? Thanks again!
I've been thinking. Describe what you think would happen if Delphini had tried different ways of winning? and they succeeded?, here's 6
Method 1
Target Hermione, because their are several times when without her Brains Harry and Ron would not have won
Method 2
Break Griphook out of Malfroy Manor, without him Harry, Hermione and Ron won't get access to The Lestrange Vault
Method 3
Prevent Draco becoming A Death Eater, if Draco doesn't become A Death Eater then Narcissa won't have to lie to protect Draco
Method 4
Use Imperio on Umbridge to make her cancel the order for Dementors to attack Harry, this means that Harry will stay at Privet Drive longer then he did, Delphini then Imperios Miss Fig who manages to bring Harry to Delphini, who brings Harry to Voldemort
Method 5
In The Battle of Hogwarts use Imperio on Ginny, Ginny lets Bellatrix kill her and whilst Harries distracted Voldemort kills Harry
Method 6
The simplest, kill Snape at the end of Book 6, which means that Bellatrix kills Harry
Wondering if anyone here has seen the show at the Curran theater in San Francisco. If so, what were your seats and how was the view?
I am interested in seats in the first 5-8 rows of orchestra left and right sections. Is this too close to the stage? Will I be craning my neck the entire time and miss some of the action further back?
