Parking turnover and enforcement is really important to the success of our local businesses downtown. Don't hate, thank them next time you see one.
I can't seem to let them go.
Looking for a hairstylist skilled in scissor-cutting super short hairstyles for women. Many stylists use clippers only for ultra-short haircuts. Some hair, like mine, doesn't do well with clippers.
What's being built here? Seems like a decent sized project. They have boards up, but nothing to indicate what's coming.
Im looking for someone who’s good at perming hair. Not sure who to go to as i don’t have a hair stylist or anything. Im looking to achieve 3a-2b
Every time someone cuts my son’s hair, I don’t like it. I’ve tried to do it myself and that was worse, so I need someone to fix it before we can take Xmas pictures lol. Can anyone recommend someone? He will only let someone do it while sitting on my lap so they need to be patient with toddlers too, but I just really need someone who knows how to do a boys haircut well.

I toured the property yesterday, but I cant afford it. The price is quite reasonable though and all the important stuff (heating, electric, water, insulation) is in really good shape. I hope this home ends up in loving and caring hands for its 200th birthday.
At the core of this late 19th century house is a two room log house believed to have been built in the 1840s. When the house was new, it was the center of a 150 acre farm on the western outskirts of Columbia. The original log house was probably built by Edward Camplin, a successful Boone County businessman who owned the property from 1828 to around 1848. The land and cabin had several owners in the late 19th century, including James and Mary Conley, who bought it in 1892. The Conleys built the present house around the original log house. E. B. McAllester and his wife bought the property in 1921. It served as their family home for many years and was later developed into a nightclub and restaurant called "Springdale Gardens," after the springs that were located behind the house. Springdale Gardens was in operation in the 1930s and 1940s, and was described in a 1950s newspaper article as having been "a favorite dinner party spot for Columbians." Historical sources differ on who developed the nightclub. It may have been done by the McAllesters, or by Mary Williams, who leased the property from them around 1938.
By the 1950s, the Camplin House was in poor condition and threatened with demolition. In 1954, local architect Hurst John purchased the house and approximately 40 acres of the original farmland to the south. He made several updates to the house, and replaced an early one-story wrap around porch with the existing two-story front porch and columns. He kept an acre of land to go with the house and divided the rest of the property for the Spring Valley housing development.

Why do some apartments cover water bills? How can they afford, do they get some benefits? Why do they give it for free? Do I need to be concerned about it? NOT that I am complaining as I use lots of water per day. Lol

Are there any quiet apartments in town for less than 1k? I just have two cats I’d prefer a 2 bedroom but can definitely survive with a 1 bedroom. I can hear every single thing my upstairs neighbor does right now and I’m going insane I just want somewhere quiet and that has in unit laundry
If there is a Skilled Nursing Facility in Columbia you have experience with in any way, please list it and your general rating. I have a relative that needs to go back to one for a couple of weeks, in about 1-2 weeks. They were at one early last year, and it was fine, I just want to see opinions on others. Bonus points for any that have an ASL interpreter.
Just wondering how it was
I’m looking for a veterinarian that will do house calls even if my cat is not an established patient of theirs.
The Columbia Public Library has a Puzzle Swap coming up this Saturday, December 7 from 11am-1pm. If you want to participate, you can bring a puzzle (or more than one) to swap for another puzzle. There's a lot to select from! If you can't make it, but want to donate a couple puzzles, you can drop them off at the Welcome Desk in the lobby starting tomorrow.
Also--the library has a community puzzle set up on the 2nd floor of the library near the reference desk. If you are looking for something to do, come on by and work on the puzzle for a bit. Or stop and put a few pieces in the next time you're in to pick up something from your favorite author.
Been fiddling with the banjo a few years now but I’d like to get on a regimented learning schedule. I consider myself a beginner.
One of the best things about Columbia, Missouri is all of the great nonprofits in our community doing amazing things - helping people, animals, land and rivers, supporting theater, art and music - so many different 501(c)3 orgs making our community better. I love it when they are all participating in CoMoGives and posting about all of the great work they do with photos, stories and all of the reasons they are awesome. If you don't know about CoMoGives, check it out - learn about great work happening in the community and maybe donate! I give donation "gifts" through CoMoGives every year for Christmas, who needs more stuff anyway? https://www.comogives.com/
The protestors seem to have organized something…they’ve got speakers and a microphone and maybe a camcorder out there today… hope they don’t scare anyone away from getting the healthcare they need.
Selling hand made and painted ornaments, handmade bracelets, cookies, and random things around my house that I didn't want!!! 11am - 2pm and 913 again st. Most if not all money going towards my girlfriends Christmas present 🧡
Hello all, new to the area and looking for side work, cash gigs, and hustles to make extra cash. (legal and legitimate hustles) If anyone knows of anything comment here and if you want to get ahold of me directly just ask and I'll give my contact info.
I have a background in mechanics and construction. I know my way around a chainsaw and am a damn decent tree faller. My name is Chancey Benefield on Facebook if you want to get ahold of me that way. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks all and looking forward to helping this community.
Any recommendations on a good place to go in Columbia for getting our grinding/squeaking brakes looked at?? Trying not to spend a fortune right before the holidays but also know this needs to be taken care of so we are safe driving in winter weather conditions.
Thanks in advance!

Can anyone recommend a good snow removal company that’s reliable and affordable? I think I should probably arrange it for my 80+ year old parents. It’s just a short driveway and sidewalk. Thanks!
Hi! Update on the emergency move for my partner! We recently found Columbia Crossing and we're wondering if anyone has experience living there?
I called earlier to ask about rent and utilities and got solid answers, but the two representatives I talked to gave me different answers over whether a One Bedroom unit would be furnished or not.
Has anyone lived in such a unit there or knows someone who has? Also, what have your general experiences with them been?
