The Citadel of Ricks is designed to be a "safe haven" for all of the Ricks and Morties across the Multiverse. This is a place for deep discussion and complex theories involving the Rick and Morty Comics. This is a zero tolerance area. (No Shitposts. No memes. No Trolls. No Copypasta) Violators will be dealt with swiftly and decisively.
Original Art such as paintings and sculptures, ARE ACCEPTED for now. If we get too much of that content it will be cut off, but I(The_Rickest_Kris) like original art content. This includes homemade props or costumes. Only if actual work was put into them. Again, this is a probationary acceptance.
Copypasta is strictly forbidden. We look mostly for original content. Copy/Paste, Memes, and Shitposting are grounds for immediate termination.
Micro-analyze everything. Don't be afraid to get waaaaaay out there, test the boundaries of your imagination. doesn't matter how likely or unlikely the Theory is. Tried a theory out on a different subreddit, only to have the point missed? or your comments became a circle-jerry mess of trolls and shitposts? Try posting it here.
If you haven't watched the show, go watch it. When you're done watching the show, come back to discuss it. Still, it would be nice to give a word of warning the title.
Downvotes disincentivize participation.
Only downvote when the post or comment breaks a rule or isn't relevant.

Dont be confused. This sub was created out of c137. We never pretended to be better or that we wanted to be separated from c137. This was supposed to be the exact same thing, only with Mods.
Mods have been installed in r/c137!!
Please Subscribe to both The Citadel AND c137 for the complete experience.
From here on out The Citadel will officially primarily focus on R&M Comics!
We highly recommend posting everything else in r/c137.
There's no need to get worked up about the sub's name, or my name. I'm not rick, (I'm Kris) this is not the Citadel from the show this is a different Citadel, one that I made. We don't tell anyone what to do. We just want to talk about our weird ideas in peace.

I wonder how many of the working stiff Rick’s lost their Morty in an adventure and thats why they’ve given up on adventures
Also j22 had been working at the factory for fifteen years, one year before Morty was born idk what that means but yikes
Let's look back at some memorable moments and interesting insights from last year.

I noticed a shift in the animation of Rick and Morty and made a video analyzing it. I'm open to thoughts and speculation.
He keeps saying he is from c-137, but upon visit, the world is all croninburg'd up!
Rick might be seeking shelter in another world!
This could very well have been said before but I'm watching the citadel episode again and I'm realising this episode is blatantly showing us how Rick (as a whole) isn't special. The episode shows us how the 'generic' Rick is just a human. And i mean he's human as in Rick represents humans as a whole. In this series there is infinite species so to say Rick is a special human means nothing. But the citadel has an entire civilisation of Ricks who are all the same. Humans are all the same. The Rick (or Ricks) thay we follow are special because they're the top of the Ricks. But there are still Ricks out there that stayed with his wife and had Beth and lived to old age without anything happening them. Except maybe the top tier Ricks abducting him.
Long story short the Rick/Ricks we follow is basically the CIA/KGB/SAS/Marines of just the man Rick.
We are now going to be dealing exclusively with comics and Comic theory. Over the next few days I will be making some changes, there's no reason we should close. I've put too much work and love into this sub to close it down. I'll still allow general theories and posts (we are, after all, still the only sub free of shitposters, trolls, and memes), but I will be posting the comics on a weekly basis. We may lose some subscribers, we may not. Reddit is a place of free information sharing, and whether or not we exist is not up to anyone but us. I hope I can continue to count on your support. Comics are the only new R&M information we have to sustain us during the off season and the off season will be a long one.
As always, Happy Posting! The Rickest Kris
I think I'm going to have to throw in the towel guys. It seems like this was a short lived dream. Once c137 came back online it became apparent that this sub Reddit was no longer necessary. I had hoped there would be enough people to want a safe place that we could keep existing, but I was wrong. I'll save the CSS so on the off chance I am called upon to restart it.
I am thinking of creating a new sub, which might borrow some of the CSS. I'm still working out it's purpose. I'll post and crowd source ideas. I'll leave this sub active for a little bit, if anyone objects to the deletion of the Citadel, comment here or PM me. Meanwhile, we you can go to r/c137 for all your R&M needs.
Thank you. For everything guys, it means a lot to me that I was able to help, I never expected to get 500 subscribers, let alone 1300.
I wish you all the best and hope to see you all in r/c137 and perhaps my new subreddit!
Your Spokesperson, The Rickest Kris
when jerry's parents arive for Christmas dinner with their lover, Jacob. After the rest of the family walks away, Rick walks up to say hi. The only person who respones is jacob, who says "Merry Christmas, Rick" in a very casual, almost knowing tone. he may say "Merry Christmas, man" I'm not sure, every time I watch it I hear one or the other, but the tone IS very familiar. I'd be curious to see if Jacob showed up anywhere else in the show, maybe in the background? There are countless possible reasons he could know Rick, I'm just curious if anyone else gets that feeling from that scene.
Let me know what you guys think
Happy Posting

u/redopz Has taken over modding r/c137!
redopz has a clear vision of what He wants the sub to be and I have full confidence in his ability to make it happen.
Unfortunately he also believes there is no use for our sub now. He also believes we are taking subscribers from c137, let's prove him wrong. SIBSCRIBE TO BOTH. And post your opinions below. If general consensus is that I should kill my baby before it reaches toddler stage, then I will consider it. I hope that isn't the case :/
As always, Happy Posting! The Rickest Kris
Apologies if this had been discussed years ago- my obsession is newly minted.
From what's revealed of the citadel, whole industries, a building district and presumably branches of government are exclusively devoted to the upkeep of Mortys. If the basic timeline has some consistency throughout the multiverse, this means that every single known Rick simultaneously decided to bring along their idiot grandson on interdimensional hijinks, and that such infrastructure only sprouted 3 years ago. (Time passes at the same speed in R&M land - in e101 the 100 year timeframe was mentioned, then in season 3 one Rick ranted about waiting 97 years for sauce)
Securing the cooperation of multiple Ricks on such a matter must have required enormous effort. Discounting the official explanation of their complementary brain waves, it must have been quite an undertaking to obtain funding or even agreement to lugging around somebody who is essentially dead weight. I think that the brain wave thing is utter nonsense- Rick has been evading and tormenting the Galactic Fed and supposed 20 people determined to kill him a week for decades. Why the hell would he need this unwieldy protection at this point in time?
Birdperson's assassination indicates that somebody is trying to pick off his allies and succeeding. Perhaps unreliable camouflage is better than none. (I downplay the coverage Morty offers since there aren't obvious parameters)
This lame potshot at Mormonism will actually be an incredibly important plot device.
Perhaps the average galactic alien cop can't differentiate very well between the squashed remains of one human and another. By leaving behind a horribly mangled body that shares some of his DNA, this would buy Rick some time in very bad situations. Since humans could be rare in certain parts, human-specific analysis would correspondingly be rubbish.
Below are citadel-specific reasons for imposing such a directive.
a) Financial Revitalisation (corruption) It's just a tremendous effort to stimulate the Ricktadel's fairly closed economy, provide employment (Morty school, outfitters etc.) and give the hordes of administrators something to do [yes, c-137 did express contempt for breaucracy, but then again his alternate selves subverted the government by building their own government. So there must be some who do like it.]
b) Maintenance of interdimensional reputation A Morty provides adequate cover from pesky Gromflamite interference and hopefully prevents further embarrassments that besmirch the name of Rick.
c) Surveillance Mortys could be embedded with tracking and recording devices to keep tabs on their Ricks.
Of course, my whole post is moot should coercing Morty into this lifestyle be a natural, definite part of the multiverse, like Rick having blue hair.
Thanks for reading till the end.
quick update guys, two things I'd like to mention

I originally posted this in a different subreddit but I'll try here, and maybe more people will comment their thoughts. All welcome, here it is:
Please don't bite my head off if what I'm saying is too crazy. Also warning ahead for a bunch of questions about Mr. PB.
When Rick C-137 had to change realities for the first time -I mean the first we have seen-, he tells Morty "we got 3 or 4 more of these, tops".
During the episode of Morty's Mindblowers, in the clip with the squirrels, Rick says that they only had a couple and in a later memory we can see Mr. Poopybutthole proposing to Morty. So Rick with Mr. PB and Rick C-137 have a different number of possible realities to switch, very understandable and fair. Okay. Next.
^(Quick question Please forgive me for this, it originally came as a one quick question but then evolved and I need it out of me: if Mr. PB proposes to Morty that means that he's either homosexual or bisexual, but at the end of S3 we see him married to a female of whatever species he is, so could it be that in one reality Mr. PB is homo/bi and in another het/bi? Are we seeing more than one reality of Mr. PB through the series? Did Rick also erase the proposal memory from Mr. PB? If so, did that affected him and he's the same Mr. PB we have been seeing or are there at least 2 different Mr. PBs? How old is Mr. PB? Maybe that's why Rick erased it because he's too old for Morty. It could also be just a meaningless joke, of course. Am I reading too much into this? I am so sorry.)
We have been following these two Ricks for quite a while now and if those two Ricks/realities have come this far "together" with perhaps only Mr. PB as a difference or with minor differences, do you guys think that we could find ourselves seeing an episode where the Rick and Morty from Mr. PB reality try to take over the place of the Rick and Morty in the reality where C-137 is? Assuming of course that they fuck up and need to switch realities again. I think it could happen and it could be a very interesting episode. Rick and Morty fighting Rick and Morty for a place in their reality possibly trying to not be found by the rest of the family.
Also, on a side note, in the ABC's of Beth, shortly before Rick offers Beth to make a clone of her, there's a picture of Mr. PB and Rick on the fridge. Which means that the clone situation maybe only have happened in the reality with Mr. PB or that Beth is not a clone in that reality but she is one in the reality where C-137 is, but that's for another post.
TL;DR: Scenario where Rick and Morty from Mr. PB reality fuck up and try to take the place of Rick C-137 and his Morty in their current reality, with the fight/fun/confusion that it would require ofc. Happening yay or nay? Also, Mr. PB is a pedo and the Beth living with Rick C-137 might be a clone.
Note: I apologize for bad formatting.
So I was reading the "Blue Pants" theory by /u/The_Rickest_Kris and something hit me. One of the questions they raise is why there are no Diane's in ANY universe. And there are only two options.
The first is likely, especially if Justin and Dan want to add to the cast by reintroducing Diane to the show. The only way to hide from Rick would be to be as smart as him and to collect all of your counterparts together into a "Citadel of Diane's". It could be incredible and fascinating to add her back in as a villain and counter to Rick, maybe even recruiting Summer to be her Morty. It would be fascinating, but unfortunately very unlikely.
If Diane was as smart or smarter than Rick, Beth would be potentially smarter than she is shown to be. All of the references to her intelligence is related to Rick being her father, not her parents. So that leads me to theory two.
Let's say that the memory of Diane dying being the catalyst for Rick creating his portal gun is the only kernel of truth that the Shoney's story contains. In time travel theories and other paradox theories, everything can be changed except for the instigating event that created the time travel or paradox.
My theory is that the moment Rick lost Diane and created the portal gun, he CREATED the multiverse. By cracking a hole in space time, he set off the chain of infinite universes. It explains why while there are an infinite variations of Rick and Morty they all vary very little from each other in shape and form. Even Hammer Morty still LOOKS mostly human but with a hammer head. Why the inertia of each R&M universe look so similar. I'm not worried about the variations in aliens because those are aliens.
It explains why there are no Diane's. The moment she dies and Rick becomes God, the only thing he can't do is go back and save her. All fracturing of the multiverse happened AFTER Diane dies, so she can't ever be a part of any of them. It explains Rick's nihilism, his alcoholism, everything. He's God, but completely impotent.
First, credit where credit is due, I was led into thinking about the Blue Pants Theory from this. My theory may actually even be what u/DTrelly was getting at:
It always bugs me that when they are experiencing Ricks "Totally Fabricated" origin story, he feels the need to point out, "I used to wear blue pants" that's why I refer to his younger self as Blue Pants Rick.
Now, what if he points it out because it is the thing he's focusing on the most. What if, the origin story isn't actually fabricated, what if the only thing he changed was the color of his pants. By doing that he makes the whole memory entirely fabricated.
(Instead of it being a memory of him doing those things it becomes a story about a version of him with blue pants that has never existed going though those things)
So potentially the whole story we saw was real. By imagining that one details about the memory is different, he effectively "Fabricates" the whole thing.
This raises a few questions.
What happened to his blue portal gun prototype?
Why isn't there ever ANY living Diane's? All across the multiverse?
Does that mean our Rick actually lost his original Beth and Diane?
------------------------which could lead me to--------------------------------
Rick goes looking for them across the Multiverse but only finding a surviving Beth.
That's why Rick has memories of raising baby Morty.
Which could easily tie into the "Anti-Morty = Ricks Original Morty" Theory.
###In summary (TL:DR):
Rick only fabricates the color of his pants in his real memory of Diane and Beth dying. Which then makes him run from his reality into one where Beth survives (I would assume he'd look for both but there is no evidence of any of Ricks wives living) and raises her. Fast-forward to Morty being born. He raises Morty to be like him, keeping Jerry's influence from turning him into the overly scared, stuttering, yet empathetic Morty we all know and love. Instead he grows up Confident, Cold, Cynical, and Highly Intelligent Morty that has become the Anti-Morty. The Rickest Morty if you will. Either Rick realizes what Morty could potentially become and tries to get rid of him, or Morty realizes what Rick did to him, and seeks revenge. I could be completely wrong, but I love when a couple good theories come together!
Thoughts? Agreements? Counter-points?
Thanks you, u/DTrelly, for making this idea possible.
Happy Posting! The Rickest Kris
Just hear me out- it’s a working theory, I'm not saying there isn't evidence to the contrary. Rick explains that he needs a morty to cancel out his brain waves, but he never says that Morty Brain waves or less or lower than his. In fact Rick drawls a double helix showing that the brain waves cross paths, and Rick seems relatively sincere and honest while explaining this. Proposed theory: Rick moved in with Morty because he’s worried that someone will be able to figure out that Morty is actually smarter than, or as smart as Rick. Knowing that Rick isn't liked by a lot of people, someone could abduct Morty to get to Beth, take or use his intelligence to kill Rick .
Evil morty is actually the evolution (multidimensional plane of evolution) of all Morties, except C137 Morty. Which is why C137 Morty will be the one to kill him; he was the Morty the other Morties worshipped in Close Rick-counters of Rick Kind, and where Rick tells him he is the Mortiest of all Morties--he’s the good smart Morty.
There’s also been a number of times Morty has done some really smart stuff, bear in mind that he’s 14. He’s pretty daring, he understands Ricks science to some degree, he fixed the machine that made summer an inside out giant.
