Pleasantly surprised this sub is pro gun. Now I know this is truly a leftist sub and not a liberal sub playing soc dem. Very cool. Anyways that's all I had to say.
I don't know why I bother debating with racists, but this ''pearl of...well, something other than wisdom'' was said to me today...
''Canada is no more founded on racism or populated by racists than any other country I've visited or lived in.''
As someone who is Métis, I beg to differ! And this guy thought I was trolling when I said that Canada was built on racism. Have they wholly whitewashed high school history courses?
Hi all. Can you tell us about your favourite news sources and write if they are paid or free?
The Maple (free with some paid perks). Passage was allowed to merge with them. CAD 70$ a year enables you to post/comment. There are higher tiers with their "privileges."

Edit reason: The Maple used to be paid only, but I just double-checked, and it's now free to read the articles.
I know of others, but I hope more will participate! Of course, I would love to learn more. And please remember that a leftist view doesn't make it a trusted source!
Hi, im Samzo, an 18 year club redditor who is on this website more than I rightfully should be.
I have experienced putrid shitholes like r/canada, r/Canada_sub , r/canadahousing2 and their many attempted spinoffs, full of bots, racists, idiot bootlickers, police lovers and the like. They are constantly pushed by the algorithms on this website, and suggested to me in the "popular" feed.
now one day, just by chance, i happen upon a subreddit called "canadaleft" that has **20,000 members**. that was created in 2019 and has been pumping this whole time unbeknownst to me. its not that i think privatized social media is all a big conspiracy to suppress leftist thought (it is), but i find it simply amazing how this subreddit managed to fly under my radar for 5 years.
Fuck bigots and fascists. Class solidarity forever. We need to grow this subreddit so that it becomes the organizing tool that we desperately need on reddit.
Much love ✊
Starting a movement and need to recruit even MORE people. But ive only found this sub.
I have done a lot of lurking on reddit. But since the garbage 2024 election, ive been hyper focused on American and canadian politics. Prior I was mostly invested in military conflict news.
Im just wondering if anyone knows of any other decent canadian leftist subs mainly?
