I don’t want to make this an Anglo vs Latino affair given that we have both cultures in our region, which makes it unique. We don’t have shared values with South America. I do know where this idea comes from.
Vamos Ticos! Proud Tico here and super excited to see Costa Rica represent COCACAF with, what felt like a win tonight!
Any other Ticos in this sub?!
PURA VIDA!
Hi All,
For all of you soccer/football diehards I have an interesting scenario for you. If CONCACAF could form it's own "All Star Team" to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, what are their realistic chances of making a deep run in the tourney?
I'm curious to know who your starting 11 would be....
A few assumptions:
All players are healthy
All players have agreed to play for this team (even if they have a current dispute with their national team)
Home Field advantage also at play
I'm new to watching Concacaf it's in my opinion a very fascinating federation, but I was just curious if they have a physical player of the match award like, champions league, world cup etc, as I've never seen anything about it. Random question but just curious.
Hello concamigos, I've been trying to understand the competition history and "lore" of CONCACAF region, and I'm struggling to understand how some competitions are seen.
What is the status/reputation of central-american competitions for you? I imagined these below would be the most recognized cups, but I would like to know how the period with Copa Fraternidad and Torneo Centroamericano (Concachampions zonal stage) is seen amongst the fans:
Copa Fraternidad Centroamericana (1971-1983)
Torneo Grandes de Centroamericana (1996-1998)
Copa Interclubes de la UNCAF (1999-2007)
Torneo Centroamericano de la Concacaf - Regional stage of Champions Cup (1964-1992)
I don't think the Concacaf League could be seen as a such because the central american champions did not participate, but would like to know if this is seem by some as equivalent.
Also, how are some editions like Copa Premier Centroamericana and Copa Camel seen? How important is the title for clubs of the region?
I don't really think it's fair a lot of small islands in the carribean don't really have a chance at Gold Cup or Nations League victory or even 3rd place for that matter besides the largest island jamaica. Considering the have a separate club cup for central America and the carribean why doesn't concacaf do the same with an international tournament? It would bring alot of excitement and give the more tiny nations like Grenada, St Lucia, Aruba etc to win some silverware for their country.
Where are yall able to watch/stream the WC qualifiers at? The CONCACAF website says TrillerTV but looks like they're charging $15 per game PPV.
Horrible officiating as usual, one of two goals that were disallowed even though they were clearly onside. Good game from both teams regardless.
You see the beautiful hills outside of the sports facility in BVI? It’s not the best stadium, but it’s absolutely breathtaking for the hilly terrain to be in view while you watch a World Cup qualifier.
I'm trying to find the official regulations regarding the last spot in the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament. Specifically, I'm looking for information on how the last spot is filled when the number of participating teams is odd. Can anyone point me to the official CONCACAF website or provide a direct link to the relevant section? I've searched extensively, but I couldn't find the information.
