Happy drawing!
Hey y'all, one of my projects this off-season as mod was to add a set of official sub rules to help keep content on-rails and allow for proactive moderation. These rules are intentionally brief and unintrusive; they primarily exist to codify existing social norms for the sub rather than introduce anything new. This community does a great job self-policing but a clear rule set will help newbies get acclimated and know what they can draw.
After deliberation among the mod team, the official /r/cfbball rules (available on the sidebar and rules page) are now:
No circle tool and no pupils
Teams must be drawn with a hand drawn circle. Teams' eyes should be drawn without pupils unless going for special effect (e.g. TCU hypnotoad). These rules are core to the "CFBBall" aesthetic.
No stealing
Do not copy-paste drawings from any other artist in the community - this includes not copying from the wiki! Copy-pasting your own past work and using reference images is completely fine.
Comics must be related to college football
If your comic is about any real college football team you're probably golden. We do not accept comics solely about other college sports. One announcement post for a multi-part series is permitted, if desired.
Comics should not portray any specific real world individuals unless they are in the public eye
This includes representations of yourself, friends, or subreddit users. Portrayals of coaches and players are fair game, as are generic "fans" or any fictional character.
Text posts should be related to /r/cfbball
Text posts can be created to ask for advice, make suggestions for the community, or otherwise discuss cfbball on a "meta" level. Any text posts not related to the subreddit will be removed.
Don't be a jerk
These comics are made by amateur, unpaid artists. Be nice. Constructive criticism is ok (though we recommend the "compliment sandwich" approach!).
