Was just ironing a pair of pants for tomorrow, and I seriously need to get a routine asap.
This job came out of the blue, so I've had no time to think my needs through, lay a plan, and buy the equipment I'm going to need.
What equipment is part of your routine?
What "rituals" do you have to do on a weekly/monthly basis (such as going to the dry-clean, polish shoes, etc.)?
How long does it takes for clothes to get to the point of retirement?
Are there any properties in clothes you avoid?
Feel free to elaborate if there is more that falls outside of these questions. Thanks for a good and helpful community.
Long story short my size has changed a lot over the past couple years and my wardrobe needs a refresh.
What are your favorite high quality business casual stores with locations to try things on?
I'm going to my work's holiday party for the first time this year. All the company leadership/higher-ups will be there. It's in a ballroom in a fancy hotel, the invitation didn't call for a dress code. I need ideas about what would be appropriate to wear and outfit examples if you can share them.
Thanks!
Just landed a new job where I’ll have to dress neat and professional. I’m super excited about this as I’ve worked at a vet for 3 years and have had to wear scrubs everyday, and now I can express myself thru my work outfits. Only thing is I’ve lost weight in the past year and have gotten rid of a lot of my old clothes, so I don’t have many options in my closet for businesswear and I’ll have to stock up on some basics so I’m not stuck wearing the same few things for a while until I save some money to get some nice new outfits. I’ve been looking on Amazon and Target and found a few items but I’m curious where those like me who don’t have a lot of extra money get your professional clothing from? I’m thinking of going thrifting soon so see what I can find but just in case I don’t find what I’m looking for, drop your go to’s in the comments please! Thanks in advance 😌
Me again! I just accepted my first C suite job. This evening the new boss invited the executive team to brunch as his house in a couple of weeks to welcome me.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO WEAR!
For a little context, if it matters: Large non-profit organization & in my visits to the office, I have only seen my coworkers in suits. It is late Sunday morning & odds are high most of my coworkers will have church. Husband & kids are invited, but mine will likely not attend.
Edit to add: This event will happen before my actual start date, so it is unlikely I will have a better idea of the groups style.
...I'm sure the priest will be in robes, though!
I'm starting my first internship in an office in January and I'm starting to prep clothes! What closet and shoe staples do I need?
Am I okay to rely entirely on black pants or should I have different colors?
Backpack or tote purse?
The internship is from January to June in Boston so I'll need clothes for all weather
Top: Express (thrifted, brand new with tags). Jeans: Hollister. Shoes: Michael Kors
This is the J Crew suit I bought my daughter for her mock trial. And my gosh…she looks sharp! Thank you for everyone’s help. And we did cut the tacking stitch. And of course now she only want to wear the silk blouses lol.
I need to upgrade my booties and I am looking for recommendations. I can’t walk in heels well, so 3 inch heel max. I’m open to both square toe and pointed toe. Most important thing is that they’re comfortable! I’d love a staple bootie I can wear around town and at the office. Please drop all your recs! I’ll also take knee high boot recs too.
Okay ladies. My 16yo daughter is in mock trial at her high school and I spent a pretty penny on her suit for the court room at J Crew. Now, my question is am I supposed to cut the tacking stitch where the back hem meets the vent or leave it on? I’ve seen conflicting answers online. She has her 1st case tonight and I don’t want her looking foolish in from of her peers, the other school or judge. What have ya’ll done? I’ve never owned a $300 blazer before so I’m new to this. Thank you. 🙏🏼
Now-a-days when we’re returning to office slowly, we also like to get ready and put in effort to be presentable in the office premises. In today’s video, we’ll explore versatile and stylish looks to elevate your work wardrobe. Keeping the indian corporate set-up in mind, I’ve added a few ethnic sets in the mix as well. Your officewear shouldn’t be boring, amp it up by adding these subtle pieces to your wardrobe
For formals, you can choose dresses, skirts, structured blousons, shirts, tailored pants, blazers etc., for a semi-casual look go with fusion combinations, coord sets, denims with polo neckllines or round necklines basically anything with relaxed dress codes. Women can mix up their look with midi skirts, soft blazers, or stylish flats, minimal accessories, structured bags, scarves etc.
I want a jumpsuit like the one in the picture, but with loose, wide-leg pants instead of a skirt on the bottom. I remember seeing something like this before, but I’m not sure what keywords to search for to find exactly what I want. Any ideas?
I work the exact same color Combo last time, but I switched it up with black ankle boots this time which I think looks better than the brown shoes before. Pants are from Loft , shoes from Target, purse from Fossil. If anyone knows of great similar looking sweaters in wool or cashmere let me know. This one looks good but it’s itchy and hot as fuck and I would love to replace it with something of better quality. I’ll probably go with Quince but I’d love to hear your go tos for a fitted crew neck sweater.
Excuse the puffy face. I’m on meds that are causing water retention. 😭

Finally lost all my baby weight and need to refresh my black, navy, and grey slacks. They were the old banana republic sloane.
Heyyy,
I am currently based in Canada, and will be starting my first corporate job on January 6th. I need to know what to get, especially since it will be in winter, and the journey from home to office, is bound to be treacherous, so I am curious on what to get, and how to dress up for the scene. I would also appreciate suggestions on stores to checkout, with the consideration that I am a student, on a student budget.
Thanks in advance!
P.S I am a girl!
