Is there any way to get my backer rewards on a different console?

Like many of you I backed bloodstained the second I saw it, unfortunately when it came time for release I chose the Switch version which really sucked my excitement for the game as a whole. Fast forward back to the present I'd like to give the game another chance but the switch version is still dogshit. The PC version however is right there for me to play but I feel disappointed that I won't be getting the "proper" experience I had paid for, is it possible for me to get the backer bonuses without buying the upgrade dlc?

Ritual of the Night bosses tier list

https://preview.redd.it/q1nv1xuk7wxd1.png?width=1569&format=png&auto=webp&s=36a6dd4f560b149ae53293e1aa23b93c717e4867

Decided to make a Tier list on the Bloodstained Ritual of the Night bosses on diffculty when you get to the boss (besides gebel tier list is based on the good ending)

If i would have placed O.D. in a tier liest instead of optional he would have takken the top spot in S tier over the second Zangetsu fight

What do you all think and what would you change?

F tier: Glutton train
E tier: Craftwork (acidently added him twice)
D tier: Andrealphus,Abyssal Guardian
C tier: Gebel,Vepar,Valefar,Orobas,Bathin
B tier Bloodless,Valac,Doppelganger
A tier Dominque,Zangetsu 1,Alfred
S tier Zangetsu 2,Gremory,Bael

What singular room am I missing here?

I’ve looked at multiple guides to find out where the breakable walls are and found all of them as far as I could tell. I’ve also defeated the carpenter, slot machine, and warhorse. Which they counted. And found Celeste’s room. Where is the last 0.1% of the map here?

[Theory] In Ritual of The Night, I don't think Alfred and Gebel...

... are really dead. Maybe I'm just a tin-foil hat-wearing madman, but let me explain.

Sure, narratively speaking, their demises are presented as believeable outcomes, however, there are a couple of details around said events that make me suspicious of them.

Starting with Gebel, he is not shown to bleed out or something, instead he succombs to the curse and is magically transformed into a crystal. This crystal is never shown to be damaged in any way and it furthermore vanishes from the room after the cutscene; now for gameplay purpouses it makes sense since IGA's boss fight is in the same room, but since Johannes is present during the cutscene, only to immediately retreat back at the village, it seems plausible that he salvaged Gebel's remains. Plus, his affliction is magical in nature, so there is no hard rule that stops it from being reversible to some degree.

Now Alfred is more interesting: while the cutscene of his passing seems to leave little room for doubt, it is its aftermath that I find suspicious; see, the scene happens in a specific room during the very first visit to said room. As such, it really wouldn't had made a difference for the room, after the cutscene ends, to permanently sport Alfred slumped over in the background. And yet, as soon as Miriam leaves the room and then re-enter, Alfred is completely missing, the developers having essentially gone the extra mile to create two separate version of the room. So, if this is true, it leaves a few scenarios open for his return:

  1. Alfred either faked his death/recovered and left the Hellhold to recuperate; this is less implausible than one might think initially, if one considers that Alfred has already historically done something similar during the destruction of the Alchemist Guild, as he was presumed dead for years.
  2. Alfred may have been rescured by a third party; they may either be a friendly person (Zangetsu, who we know at some point both talked with Alfred and later escaped Gremory is a plausible candidate) or a malevolent force planning to use him.

This is just what can be glimpsed in-game, but it may also be more reasonable when you begin to think in a more meta perspective.

For example, let us consider the RotN's fate of the other CotM's protagonists as possible hints: Zangetsu disappears from the game in a seemingly tragic manner, dragged possibly to his demise by Gremory, only to being later during the ending sequence heavily implied to be still alive. Then there is Dominique, who is also a PC in the CotM games, is somewhat dealt with during Ritual of the Night, only for then re-apper in the recent Dominique's Curse DLC where she is more or less ok and is furthermore seemingly given a second chance.

Lastly, there is also the fact that both Alfred and Gebel are playable characters in not one, but two other games (the Curse of the Moon titles), making it plausible, like Zangetsu and Doninique, that there is a desire to make them stick around a little longer.

In conclusion, I don't believe that we have seen the last of Gebel and/or Alfred in the Ritual of the Night continuity.

Download link to the digital version of the artbook (PDF)?

Any backer willing to share the PDF version of the artbook? I want to extract some of the art for a project.

I don't think there should be any damage considering it's been +5 years since the game's launch, and there's really no way for non-backers to look into the concept art...

I think I overpowered myself? What should I do?

So I grinded just a little bit to upgrade a couple Shards a little, 'cause I hadn't upgraded any of the shards yet at all and I was curious and suddenly I beat Alfred (where I was stuck) before I even managed to really start getting into the patterns and all that and then I just breezed through the Doppleganger like it was nothing.

Should I start over from an earlier save or can I nerf myself somehow going forward by downgrading the shards and just using crappier gear? I'm on my first playthrough and I feel like the challenge is gone again - which is why I changed to hard mode after the Galleon. I want to die y'know. Not just march through.

What is this sunflower lion?

Posting here in case someone is familiar. Is it normal to have this sunflower lion monster? It keeps following my character, is it part of the game?

Game always crashes in galleon area!

Does anyone know to fix this? I'm running off the Steam Deck and the galleon area is not only having major framerate drops, but the game outright randomly crashes, especially if I encounter those metal monsters. The game just hangs and then I get an error message popup, in the style of a Windows 95/98 message. Does anyone know which Proton to use, because I tried the ones to make the game not crash and it still crashes at the ship. Now I cannot go back and get any of the later chests that are initially unreachable because the game will more than likely crash and I'm afraid to use any of the save rooms in that area because I'm afraid I'll probably get softlocked because it will keep crashing in that particular area, making it impossible to leave.

Later when I get the double jump ability and activate the teleportal, whenever I use to to warp to the galleon area and then exit the room, it sometimes crashes in the room where you need to drop down, to reach the room below. I don't know what the hell is going on and if the latest update caused this, but I cannot find anyone else with this issue.

This better actually DO something please.

It’s still updating for me but I’ve been softlocked at the end forever. This better actually FIX the game. Because, I love this game so much. But sheesh, why does the switch version have to suck so much? I know that the switch isn’t known for perfect FPS but this is unacceptable. I’ll probably add an edit or something after the update is done and I do a bit of testing.

Decent Walkthrough?

Anybody know where to find a good walkthrough? I was trying to follow along with the one on IGN, but it’s not very good… I’m a completionist so I’m trying to 100% everything. Preferably as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

EDIT: also, I wanted to mention, in case anyone knows how to fix: I’ve been getting weird lag/distortions but only when Miriam is speaking during cutscenes? Should I lower the graphics quality or something?? Anyone else experiencing this?

Better protagonist??

I am one of the people who played curse of the moon first, so Zangetsu holds a special place in my heart. However, I can't deny that Miriam is also cool. Who do you think is a better main character, Zangetsu or Miriam?

The Kunekune Cheese

Not sure if anyone had as much trouble as I did with the Kunekune, the weird curse monster you have to wait for kn the train. But I found a cheese method.

If you go to one platforms over thr connecting piece of the train cars you can use hertical grinder and it can't touch you and just stays there getting hit. You might have to wait a few minutes for it to cyccycle back your area.

Any Physical PC Backer Updates I've missed?

What the title says.

I saw the community post back in May talking about the final roadmap, with talk of emailing people to update their addresses to send out the PC copies.

While it never made sense why specifically this version has been held back, it kinda just is what it is at this point.

Given that everything seems to be done, has anyone heard anything else yet?

Randomizer Seed

I played through some randomizers and this one was the only one that gave me the ability to 100% it.

It's with everything randomized except the shop and crafting. Below is a list shoing where you get the important items. You find the flying edge in the ship, accelerator is dropped by the wolfman and double jump is from puppy.

Seed: 791.880.496

Shards:

  • Bloodsteal - Vepar
  • Craftwork - Bone Morte
  • Reflectorbeam - Moco grass
  • Standstill - Simian
  • Accelerator - Wolfman
  • Hellhound - Dullahammer head
  • Invert - Bloodless
  • Double Jump - Puppy
  • Deep Sinker - Shield Outsider
  • Dimenshion shift - Death trap

Items:

  • Aegis Plate - Entrance (before Zangetsu)
  • Silver bromide - where Todd is
  • Zangetsuto - East gardens with Simians
  • Gebel's Glasses - secret sorcery lab
  • Valyrie dress - oriental sorcery lab

I haven't found a good seed yet. The last one didn't work, because it is too old.

Do not buy the Switch version

Constant crashes, game-breaking glitches that stop you from getting the good ending, endless lag, graphics that tear, cutscenes that don't work, modes that don't work.

This is unacceptable and I think it should be defined as such. It is baffling that 5 years after release this game is still in such a state. As a matter of fact, it appears to have been getting WORSE as time goes on. When I played Bloodstained in 2021 sure there was lag but it was still very much playable and quite enjoyable. Revisiting it now and dear god has it been mangled. It is a testament to how good this game is that I still enjoyed it somewhat in this state, but my experience was still marred.

Even if the initial lag back on release is insurmountable (which I sincerely doubt), the fact that the game has gotten so much worse over time means that in some way someone is screwing things up. The game released its final batch of bonus content a few months ago and, of course, it does not work on Switch.

There is no defending this. This is not some subjective opinion piece, these are real verifiable problems that have added up over time, and defending this sorry state only let's the developers know they can get away with worse. I know there's no real recourse we can get at this point, but it infuriates me to see people on this sub defending these issues.

I love this game. I wish the developers did as well.
