I know everyone complains about this but I genuinely need to vent about it. the fact that most fans of the original castlevania grew up playing on Nintendo you'd think they would prioritize the current nintendo console version. The switch version of this game sold more than the Xbox and Playstation version combined and they STILL never bothered to actually make the game a better experience. The switch version is horrendous to look at. The resolution is god awful, the framerate is atrocious and it's all so much worse during a bossfight or when theirs a lot of enemies on screen. When I first played through this game I had to wait about a month before I could actually finish it before of the end game crash. I was hoping they would improve other aspects of the game considering how long it took them to release the updat but nope. Didn't fix a damn thing. I wanted to replay this Game after they fixed the end game crash but i just have no desire to. I'm not playing through this slop again. The only reason I saw it through to the end the first time was because I like these types of games and I knew the potential. good game, god awful performance. It's just such a slap to the face to the people who actually supported this game. Because again, the switch version sold more than Xbox and PS COMBINED. What they should do is re-release this game on a cartridge with all the updates and actually optimize the game properly. But i know thats not going to happen because why would they care. This is a 2.5 D side scroller. There is absolutely no reason for this game to run this bad. Blaming the switches hardware isn't a valid excuse for this one. Look at games like Nier Automata, Shin Megami Tensei V, Alien isolation, Bioshock, or any of nintendos first party games. It is more than possible. So why havent they bothered to fix it in the past 5 years.
So I’m fighting that blood vampire chick with no healing items. After many attempts, I finally killed her with just a little bit of health left, but her blood rain move is still active during the death cutscene so I die and go back to the last save.
There are elements to this game that are so frustrating it makes the game feel 20 years old sometimes.
Just got to Oriental Sorcery Lab and am having my ass kicked on his fight. The first encounter honestly wasn't so bad, but this one has me being five-shot in a couple of seconds. Any guide I go to doesn't seem to have much information aside from "oh yeah he's easy, first one was terrible tho haha". Any tips?
So, as the title says, I just finished a run with Miriam and got all the achievements—except for the Usurper one. I missed killing Gebel the second time around. I really don’t want to start NG+ because I’d have to farm shard ranks again for the ones that don’t carry over, plus redo all the quests, map exploration, secrets, and stuff like that.
Since the game lets you play as other characters like Zangetsu or Aurora, I was wondering—can I get the Usurper achievement using them? Or is it only possible with Miriam? If not, are there any other options that don’t feel so repetitive?
Any help is appreciated!
I've been playing Bloodstained on PC without any issues for well over a month (yes, I'm late to this game). Just today, I logged into Steam to download the Dominique's Curse DLC, but I noticed the game performing an update. Well, now the slowdown is unbearable and game-breaking in the main game. Never had this issue before. It's primarily noticeable in the Inferno Cave and Glacial Tomb levels, but still problematic everywhere else. Anyone else have issues like this? I've got what I consider to be a decent laptop (RTX 3090), and again, I have never had a problem even remotely before it updated.
So I'm about to defeat the abyssal guardian and it's saying my map is only 46% complete. Obviously it will be higher after I explore the hall of termination and I'm sure I've missed a few rooms here and there but not 54% of could possibly be unexplored. The underground waterway is not fully explored because of the water. Have I missed a shard that lets me swim. There are a couple places I can't double jump to not reach with the ray and there are a bunch of demons ive never encountered.
WHAT AM I MISSING.
Are there new enemies in the second playthrough?
I'm doing a new game plus on my file with a star ✨ on it. I've gotten the zangetzu sword but the red moon I need to strike in the garden won't appear.
Is this a glitch that happens because I'm playing the switch version or did I do something wrong?
Was playing on the switch and was farming Bovine plumes and Flying Beef to finish the meal quests for Susie, when the game crashed. I hadn’t saved in a while either so just super sad over here. Guess I’ve got something to do tomorrow and Monday.
So i am almost done with the game, just need all weapons and accesories to have evert base game achievements, but do i need some dlc or deluxe version to get the non base game achievs?
So I just beat the first boss, went into the town lowered the gate to walk across, then went underground immediately and got to a save room. I overwrite the save from before i went down and I cannot jump up high enough to get back to where I dropped from. I went fully down there’s a teleport room and water I can’t fully dive down into I don’t know how to get back up top
It's practically Castlevania for NES with one or two changes. I tought that the only reference was the first level and boss, but the entire game is just a remake of the first CV
i've been stuck at this for a while iidk where to get the last .10
As most of you probably know, OD the librarian only appears in RotN if you're playing as Miriam. To celebrate the new year of 2024 though, ArtPlay released an illustration of him and Bloodless standing back to back. It got my imagination running: how would the two vampires interact if they met in a game? This is what I came up with.
Bloodless finds OD in the library. Their conversation goes like this:
OD: A fellow vampire. I assume you're the one that the novelists call Bloodless?
Bloodless: Yes... I need more blood.
OD: I'm Orlok Dracule, the overseer of this place. It's a library, not a blood bank nor a torture dungeon.
Bloodless: Oh, I never saw the fun in books.
OD: The books in here are more than words on paper. They're magical tomes that impart power to their readers.
Bloodless: How delightful! But please tell me I don't have to memorize all those pages?
OD: Whether or not you read what you borrow, I expect you to handle it with respect. Books borrowed from a library must be returned in pristine condition, not covered in bodily fluids.
OD: I hope something here awakens the reader in you.
Bloodless borrows a book and secretly "enhances" it with blood magic. She returns it and gets this response:
OD: This tome smells of blood. You haven't tinkered with it, have you?
Bloodless: ...
OD: I warned you. Books from a library are not toys for you to deface. I can reverse whatever you did to this one, but next time, I won't forgive you.
Bloodless: I'm so, so sorry, OD.
Her internal monologue: (This one is more clever than I thought.)
In a game, you could have the "defacing books" thing as the trigger that makes him fight her like he fights Miriam. But that's getting into game dev territory.
Of course the vast majority of the boss fights in a new game should be likewise brand new, but I also cannot deny that a returning boss has its own charm, just too see what's the same and what new spin the developers gave them. To be fair, the most probable boss to ever return is Gremory, simply because she has made an appearence in every single game so far, but I'm curious to know what are you guys's picks.
To refresh the memory, lets go down the list:
Personally, I would love to see some of the guys from Curse of the Moon 2 to make a re-appearence; not only because I'm curious how the developers would change them, particularly if they have to adapt them to a 3D enviroment, but also I can't pass on an opportunity to finally have a definitive answer on the official names for the beelzebub-looking dude and the giant space dragon.
Also, still on the topic of "returning faces", another boss fight I would be interested to see would be an encounter, either as a friendly spar or otherwise, against Johannes, mostly because he is the only main character from RotN that is never fought, and because I'm curious to see how he handles himself in battle (he is the apprentice of Alfred afterall).
