What are yall's day by day routines for hair?

Been doing my research on how to grow my hair recently since I tend to get to a short length then it goes very slowly/stops from there. I've gotten the wash day routines down, but I dont really see anything for daily moisturizing/care.

Question about keratin & cornrows.

Hi. So I’m 24M & I’ve been wanting to do keratin treatment to my hair; I did it last year when I was growing it out & it made my hair so much easier to take care of.

I was wondering, if I get this done, how long should I wait before getting cornrows? Or can I do it after washing it out (last time I had to leave it in for 3 days before washing it out).

Help?!

As I'm detangling my hair during my wash, as you can see my hair looks all f'd up! About 2 weeks ago, my barber cut into the sides of my hair and also too high when I requested a mid fade. I figured by now the sides would grow back in but I'm realizing that it still hasn't. Am I cooked, should I cut it to re-grow it? Would it eventually grow back in and when?

Hair Treatment Regret, Should've Stayed with Braids

Ive always struggled to get my hair past a certain length, beyond my shoulders. After achieving that goal by a mere 4 inches over some years (dealt with tons of breakage and no length retention), I decided to ditch a braid, sew in, or crotchet style for a keratin treatment. Its meant to make the silk press style last longer against humidity and would loosen your curls overtime as the product wore off.

So I went through with it and had a great experience at the salon. Followed their aftercare of not washing my hair for a week and keeping it straight as possible, to let the treatment set. I was nervous while they were applying the product and blow drying it off with high intensity. It smelled horrible and smoked up the entire salon. Like a BBQ. Then they straightened the hair in smaller sections with a flat iron like a silk press. My first hiccup was my hair started reverting as I made my way home. Right after the hair style, I commuted back with 1 bus, 2 train rides, and 20 min total of walking back home. That probably could have put some humidity back in my hair, idk. Then the hair starting reverting to a poofy yaki straight texture on Day 2. I texted my stylist and she suggested I straighten my hair some more (at home with my flat iron) to set the style back. I then decided to wrap my hair, like you would a silk press, to keep the hair stretched. My worst hiccup was on Day 3 and what I feared most, I had breakage while brushing my fingers or a fine tooth come through my hair. The rate of breakage only continued to get worse into a whole week.

It stresses me out like crazy because I feel like I've ruined all my progress on my hair journey. I already grey early due to genetics, but this is the most ive seen in such a short time. Im too scared to add any product or wash my hair and make it fall off more. Its been a couple weeks since thenI hate that I decided to be influenced and get a chemical treatment on my hair. Mind you, I've never had a silk press before. Just the typical would've had hair to my ankles if my mom didn't perm it. I should've just gotten the mermaid braids like I wanted at first. To make it presentable, I'm using clipin extensions that match my kinky straight texture (its no longer silk like or with movement). What should I do to salvage my hair? Finally wash it and just straighten it again? Avoid heat and get a braid for protective styling? I had already set up a touch up during my first visit for January. Should I keep it and give the keratin treatment another shot?

Question about boho braids…

Would it be possible to use my natural curls and then synthetic hair for thicker braids?

Is it me or getting stitch braids hurt more than just cornrows?

Maybe it’s my choice of stylists, but I was about to tell the girl to switch to regular cornrows because it just seems like she digs in my head when she does stitches. Anybody else experience this or I’m just tender-headed lol

Black women over 50 in NYC: Where do you go to get your hair done?

My mother is in her fifties and lives in New York City. She used to have crochet loc installs and regular dyes at salons, but she eventually was forced to start doing her own hair due to the stylists’ inability to take proper care of it, which caused her a good deal of damage and breakage. However, she still has a regular job and would like to find a stylist who could help her and allow her to save some time.

Are there any stylists in New York City who specialize in taking care of fragile natural hair, specifically for older women?

[Apologies if you’ve seen this on another page! I’ve posted this in a few different communities on here]

EDIT: My mother lives in Harlem, so I am looking for stylists/salons in that area!

zoe kravitz hair?

hi!

i wanted to achieve this look by only using human hair extensions. one 30 inch and two 16 inch bundles and two 14 inch bundles. i want to be able to effortlessly have this hairstyle in for months on end or maybe a year. i really want this to be my signature look. i plan on refreshing and redoing every 6 weeks or 4 weeks. i plan on washing once every week or two weeks and moisturizing my scalp and length of my hair. i have 4b/c hair and i worry about my hair peeking thru these braids.

any tips on how small i should do it and anything else? thoughts on keeping it in and refreshing it?

all opinions are welcome!
