Asking because I finally found a braider in my area that does that style but I have a feeling that amount is too high $$$
after i washed them it became more frizzy than expected and some of the roots unraveled. the method i used in my locs was the instant locs method. is there a way to fix it ?? should i leave it and wait for a retwist or immediately get a retwist ?
Do hairstylists do glueless wig installs or prepare wigs to be worn. I want to wear a wig but I'm worried about damaging my edges. I have tried to buy wigs and install them myself but I always end up messing the wig up altogether.
By the way I am a lazy natural, but I am trying to be open towards more protective styles at the moment.
Open to all suggestions!
I have 4c hair and I just texturized my hair using the ors olive oil girls texture softener, it’s a very mild texturizer. I had a perm a few years ago but I wasn’t taking the best care of it so I put in protective styles, grew it out and cut off all the permed hair. Since then I’ve sworn by braids and if you knew me, most of the time my hair was in braids. There was never rlly a time where I had my hair just out without any kind of style. I decided that I wanna start having my hair out more but I rlly want it to retain its length. I don’t want it straight like before but it goes past my shoulders and I’d like if it could stay like that without needing heat or anything to stretch it so much. After using the texturizer there is a difference because usually after washing my hair it shrinks all the way to my head and after it hung down a bit to my forehead and I also didn’t need a blow dryer to stretch it. I only used a couple products and put it in twist and I was able to get some stretch. Even with all this though I wasn’t satisfied with the result..I had it in for the max time which was 30 mins and thought it would at least look similar or close to the girls hair on the box but no..I was deceived ✊🏾😔. My hair is rlly coarse and I know it can handle a lot so my question is do I have to wait the recommended amount of time (6-10 weeks) before texturizing it again? Because since it didn’t do much and my hair is still rlly coarse I feel like I could do it a little earlier than that but I don’t want my hair falling out or anything if it’s too much. Also if anyone has any suggestions on what texturizer I should use next, pls share!! But make sure it doesn’t have formaldehyde in it..definitely don’t want that in the ingredients..
Also what color, type of hair, etc
God I’m just tired, I just spent hours in my bathroom trying to handle my hair and it looks so bad.
I’m 21 and for pretty much my entire life I consistently braided my hair enough for me not to know what my hair looked like besides when I would wash them between hairstyle. A few weeks ago I decided I would learn how to appreciate them undone and define my curls. So I started to search what my hair type was, what products would be good for them etc.
Fast forward to today, because I have Seborrheic dermatitis I thoroughly washed them with clarifying shampoo and ciclopirox. I deep conditioned them and I moved to the wash and go section by section with the finger coiling technique . I put the miel hydrat from Camille Rose, the African Pride gel and the ouidad one and here is the result.
My hair was wet wet at each section. I have to mention that even if they are wet they don’t clump but just frizz and you can literally see them get puffy nearly instantly. While drenched in the shower and constantly pouring water they do clump a bit but there are still frizzy 😭
Is my hair just like that or there's a way for the curls to clump ? I’m begging for some advice, and products recommendations.
I wear a lot of wigs / sew ins so I don’t wash my hair as much as I should and I def don’t take care of it as much as I should . this year I want to change that !
I washed my hair last week and wore a wig , I use oils like Rosemary oil and Doo Gro grease to keep my scalp moisturized . a week later after coming home from vacation I had so much dandruff it was INSANE ! my scalp looked like it hasn’t been washed in months but my hair was still clean , soft and moisturized . I took off the wig and planned to do a sew in but noticed I needed to wash again with a scalp scrubber to get the dandruff off .
after washing and greasing my scalp I still notice my scalp is still flaky like dandruff . why is this ? what can I do to full moisturize my scalp and minimize dandruff ?
all my friends says that im cooked but i have been growing hair out since july so im wondering if i can get my hair braided
What are the best detangling Conditioner/Leave in duos for 3A/3B type hair?
Went to an amazing henna artist and took about 2.5 hours to do my entire head. I'm in love y'all 🔥
I work at a state psychiatric hospital. We get a lot of folks who have no one to bring them clothes and toiletries, so the staff bring donated clothes and other little things for the patients, like reading glasses, ponytail holders, puzzle books, etc. The state supplies basic toiletries, but does not supply any kind of ethnic hair products. The only thing we have to offer is petroleum jelly.
I would like to buy a few giant containers of something useful for our Black patients. I often get requests for oil and conditioner, but I don’t know what to buy. Can anyone give suggestions for products that are widely used, reasonably priced, and available in large containers? Keep in mind that our patients generally stay with us for weeks to months. TIA!
ill be honest i try to do mine once a month bc i got my shi braided most the time is that too much or too little
It's Saturday which usually is my wash day and I was just thinking about which way would be better. I normally do it at night during the week, but I like the feeling of doing it in the morning/daytime cuz at least it'll stay shapely y'know?
What do you y'all do?
I already have the taper and the hair type, just wanted to know what products to use
Hi! I am working on hygiene kits that will be given to people who are in crisis or homeless situations. I can assemble the usual generic items just fine that are universally useful, but wanted to make sure I have things that would make sense for someone with 4c hair (ladies and gentlemen). I really don't want to leave anyone without what they need out of ignorance. Thanks in advance for your help and thoughts. Probably obvious I am a clueless Caucasian, but it would suck to have needs that could not be met because I didn't ask.
