It may sound familiar to you guys but I have no experience with that type of behavior. The car has 71k miles, never launched it (maybe 15 times), I store it during winter, change engine oil every spring or 5k miles. I'm quite mild with it and generally never go beyond 5k rpm.
On a normal drive in comfort mode, the shift are acting weird. It's as if the car accelerate a 200-300rpm extra at the same time of changing gear. It happens most of the time but not always. Makes for a very rubberband-ish experience.
I also started getting another issue at around the same time, but it's a little more rare. I accelerated at 50% throttle to get up to speed without making it scream either, at around 4.5k rpm the engine choked bad for half a sec, let out a loud bang from the exhaust and came back to life as if nothing happened. I had this happen 3 times so far in the past week. It sounds bad, but I have a catback exhaust. It wasn't burbles, it was 1 clean pop.
When I start the car on a not so cold start, I will wait for a minute or two before driving away, sometimes the engine feels like it wants to shut off. The rpm drops a bit like it's choking. Happens rarely but it chokes 2-3 times within a minute, then I drive away.
It just happened one day, didn't massacre the car at all. Temperatures got below freezing last week, shit started acting weird. No transition, no issues beforehand. I don't even know if it's related.
Overall, the transmission is just acting fucky with me and anyone without knowledge would start finding it annoying after a short time.

Basically problem as title goes. N54 (stock) cylinder 1 misfires sometimes. One or two days it goes normaly. Day after that misfire in cylinder one comeback. Also, Misfire appears only after revs drops. From example puling harder and then revs drops misfire follows. After restarting engine misfire sometimes comeback.
BTW: No MF code. MF only ads in MF counter.
Also: Already done new coils and new plugs.
Anybody have any ideas?
I have an N47 F11 and want to change the glow plugs, i have read online that the OEM plugs are either bosch or Beru and am not sure which ones to get. They're both similarly priced, if anyone has any recommendations, it would be appreciated.
As title suggest, I am scratching my head on how to remove these. It’s a rounded head.

2015 bmw 528i xdrive with 120k km
I've been noticing really really poor fuel performance in my car lately and was wondering if there was a way to test whether it is the O2 sensor or spark plugs?
I do notice rough idles when temperature gets cold, then runs fine after a couple driving for a couple of minutes. No check engine lights so no codes. Sometimes when I start my car and leave my driveway my rpms go from like 500 rpms then shoots to 2k for a brief second before returning back down to 500-700 rpms.
Other than removing the entire dash is there a short cut to reaching the servo motor for the heater?

I got a notification on my 2019 540i that my oil was at minimum so I went to my local auto parts store and got 2 quarts of Mobil 1 euro car formula 0w-40 instead of 0w-20 due to my area not having it in a 30 mile radius. is it okay to run it in the engine for now until Monday when I’m able to do a full oil change?

I finally joined the bmw community after years of dreaming. I purchased a g20 330i. It’s not the m package, but it’s not the base trim either. Anyways I have a few questions and would appreciate any help.
I am just beginning to get into cars now.
1.) How can I make the car louder when I drive/rev? I don’t want a flat noise but a sort of heavy noise, if that makes sense.
2.) I don’t want a cel at all, so what type of exhaust can I install that will sound nice but also not bring up a cel?
3.) I want to add more horsepower, it comes with 255 and I want to bring it into the 300’s. I will probably add a cold air intake or an air filter, which should add 10-15.
4.) How can I add torque?
I am not gonna be able to afford 3-4K mods. I’d be comfortable spending 3-400 every couple months to do something new.
I know this post might make a few people laugh, I can understand but please I do need the help so try and help me out.
I’m also in Ontario so I can’t do a muffler delete or I could get pulled over and I’ve heard people tell me muffler delete on a 330i does not sound good.

I have a 2005 e60 525d.
I wanted to retrofit a CD Charger but i can't find the optical cable (MOST), does anyone know if all the cars are pre wired ? And if not, can i wire it and put a CDC in ?
46,754 miles. I am the second owner. First owner took care of it. Other than it sticking when I push it over to 5th as shown in the video it shifts into and out of all the gears fine. What is the issue and do I need to fix it immediately? If i carry on like this am I causing an damage to the transmission? What can i expect if i continue without fixing it?

Dealership quoted me $1200 to replace my rear brake pads and rotors. I thought that was a bit high so I bought a set of rear pads, rotors, and a wear sensor.
Are there any special tools or things specific to BMWs I should know about before I start the process?
I’ve done this on a Honda, Jeep, and Mazda before but wasn’t sure if the Bavarian’s had some surprises for me.

I purchased my X7 as an imported Canadian car. Via the My BMW App, I get alerts to Canadian recalls (but not US) and I'm also having issues getting the software to update. Wondering if the Canadian vin has anything to do with this and if it can be recoded to the US.
So i bought this car about 4-5 months ago and it was driving great no problems for the first month of it. while my girlfriend was driving one day it died while idling at a stoplight but started up js fine right after and didn’t happen again. well after another month i was driving and my trans light shows and abs light. i pulled over and it boggles. if i press the gas it’ll try to pick speed up but not very and then drop back down or won’t even speed up at all and not rev like it should. when pulling over it dies completely. only time it’ll start up is if i jumpstart it with a car or battery pack and then she’ll run fine again for a week and than the problems resume. while the trans and abs light are on idle my car sputters out while trying to rev it, and will drop rpms low as heck and then die again needing a jumpstart. well after another 2 months or so it stopped doing it WHILE driving. it would only happen after the car is turned off. so if i wake up in the morning to go to work its a 50-50 if i have to jump it or not. and then occasionally after jumping it it’ll say key malfunction with a cross thru a key saying my car may not restart. but again drives fine while driving but only dies if i turn it off occasionally but other times will start up just fine. well recently the whole driving and dying with the trans light happened again and i feel it also restarted my car aswell cuz my time and date is off on my screen. i didn’t think its the alternator considering it’ll still drive for a period of time, still start up fine on the other hand, but then die on other times. any got any options??
Context: When driving car for first 5- 10 minutes car is silent. After that car makes the noise In the video when car isn’t in motion (stopped at light) and when foot is not on gas while driving (when foot is on gas sound goes away till released). The first video is after letting car sit for 20 minutes after driving first is immediately after drive.
Hello a few days ago I made a post about a noise problem with my 2013 528i. I got a lot of helpful advice and I when ahead and did all the suggestions. So far I changed serpentine belt, tensioner, spark plugs, and ignition coils. But still the noise persists so I wanted to know if you’ll have any other suggestions before I take the car to the mechanic.
Also I saw this video on YouTube were someone was having the same issue (https://youtu.be/coyxkSLmhOY?si=ltN-eDl_q_IHrzVb) in the video they changed their vvt solenoid and the sound when away. I’m going to try this but I wanted to know if there as any other suggestions before.
Hello! I've got a 2014 X3 X-Drive 35i. I was driving down the road one day when iDrive randomly restarted and since then, the camera has been both up-side-down and left-side-right. Obviously the radar is functioning correctly, and the red pips you see should be over top of the floor machine, seen here at the top right of the screen, rather than bottom left.
I have reset iDrive, done a hard battery reset (30 minutes disconnected), reverted and reupdated the software for iDrive, and dug through every manual / forum post I can find.
Some say the "COMBOX" needs to be reinitialized, but don't say what that is or how to do it. My reading says that is a Bluetooth adapter module, unlikely to be related to this parking assistance system.
Can anyone suggest a way to reset this camera feed?
Hi, first time BMW owner here.
I’ve recently bought a 2015 318i sport line (F30). I’m looking to switch out the steering wheel to an Msport wheel and install paddles. I was wondering if any other steering wheels are compatible, or if I can only look at F30 options? There is a beautiful M3 steering wheel for sale in my area..

i’ve always wanted a bmw but i know the process of buying a used car and even more a used BMW isn’t very easy. i’m open to dealerships or private sellers and am just looking out to buy a car that’ll be a good daily driver and won’t cost $5000 a month in maintenance. i’m capable of doing my own work so no mechanic prices. i don’t have that much money right now so im trying to find out how much i need to walk off work a good little car. for now im interested in something simpler like a 1-4 series (usa)
