We aren't a subreddit to debate religion per se.
If you have a query, someone may humour you but don't expect others to have the inclination to debunk Whatsapp University level arguments. We already have to put up with those in real life.
If you really want to debate, do yourself and the rest of humanity a favour by taking the first step towards critical thinking. Go through these extensive lists of cognitive biases and fallacies:
Critical thinking is a skill and you will get better at it with practice.

I have seen a few threads on this and it would appear I am in disagreement with a slight majority on this sub.
There is no difference real difference between the two. The most common error people seem to be making is -
Theist - believes in God Atheist - says there is no God Agnostic - doesn't take either side.
If the question is "Is there a God?"
Theist - yes
Any other answer to this question is atheism.
It covers everything from lack of belief to disbelief. Agnosticism doesn't exist as an independent term and it was coined (in the context of religion) by someone who wasn't involved in academic discourse of this subject. The entire reasoning behind his support for this term was that God is an unfalisfiable hypothesis. In reality, this was already an existing argument put forth by atheism.
The default position of atheism is there isn't enough evidence for God, not that there is no God. If you folow any academic discussion on the topic, this will be made quite clear in those discussions. The distinction between the two terms is meaningless and misleading.
My POV is that they go through such secnerio that somehow divert them like a tragedy where you have no hope and out of nowhere you see a miracle for me it might be a coincidence but for many of them it might be act of god...
Second thought, god gives you a very good like copeing machanism like places where you are stuck with some tragedy which you cant overcome somehow you feel like its act of god he does it for our good.
.. I saw meme on this sub only noone sits beside a dead baby and think god is real its true actually if you think, shit happen to believers as well it might be possible they have more vill power to overcome their pain, failure, tragedy etc.
I was born and raised in a Christian family, and at around age 16, I was born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. However, as I learned more about science and the darker side of religion, my faith began to crumble. I became certain that there was no God or anything supernatural.
Recently, I attended my college chapel camp, where a preacher performed prophecies that seemed like magic. He prayed for me personally and prophesied something almost similar to what I was thinking. After praying, he blew air on me, and I felt myself losing balance, as if I was falling. I also felt a sense of peace in my heart for some time.
There were others also who spoke about their experience with evil spirits and all sorts of unnatural stories. Some also spoke in tongues. I'm petty sure they were honest and genuine. They were so passionate about it and spoke with so much of conviction that I'm now confused. One of them is my best friends and I know he isn't lying.
When I told the preacher that I didn't believe him or in God, he said "if you seek him with all your heart, you'll encounter him".
Does anyone here have any explanation on how the preacher was able to prophecy something that had in my mind and hadn't shared with anyone? was it just coincidence? and why was I falling down when he blew air on me? or how could so many people have the same experience about evil spirits and demons? I previously thought it was skizophenia but so many people at the same time seems a little unlikely. Is it that their mind is playing tricks with them?
I've observed something interesting many people in this community identify as atheists, yet some seem to harbor biases against certain religions. It often feels like a platform for expressing anger rather than fostering understanding.
I wonder, what differentiates this approach from that of some religious believers? Both sides can be aggressive in presenting their views and may dismiss each other as foolish.
As someone who identifies as an atheist, I joke about all religions but also respect their practices. I share the same frustrations that many here experience. My concern is that if we continue to engage in hostility, atheism risks becoming just another ideology characterized by dogma and disdain.
Shouldn't we strive to act with intellectual integrity? We can critique beliefs without resorting to hatred or insults and why not to aim for thoughtful dialogue instead of divisive rhetoric.
Okay so super hypothetical question but I always wonder why Sanghi gobars are so adamant on fckin up their own environment by already messing up a polluted place with more crackers which is not even traditional to hindusim. It's obvious that their ego gets hurt when someone tells them.this and they quickly cite the hypocrisy of mullas slaughtering goats on eid.
So the question is that if Mullas stopped mass goat slaughter on eid, would these gobars then see the sense in not going berserk with fireworks?
Hey guys, I've written this article debunking the metaphysical claims about religion, please read it and tell me what do you guys think about it.

I respect people who choose 1 or 5. I respect people who choose 5 more, even though I would choose 1. I would repect people who choose 2,3 or 4 if they accept that they are doing so for religious reasons. I would disagree with everything with them regarding religion but respect them. But the people who would choose 2,3 or 4 and claim to be rational/atheist, who are you kidding ? Us or yourself?
Whenever I take his phone to check something he always takes it from my hand and it has happened multiple times. One day I decided to check his phone when he wasn't at home as I though smth could be sus and to my surprise when I tapped on his chrome search history I found a bunch of >!xxx links and homosexual porn. I tapped on a random link and saw a guy teaching Yoga to his female students in a lewd manner and she was screaming( I knew it was scripted). And in another video I saw a white woman getting a tattoo around her groin area( I do like tattoos but can't imagine myself getting one around my privates). He has also watched a video of two women doing naked yoga together and later on went into action. !<
PS- Many people would come and say that it's your dad's personal life and he is married, let him do whatever he wants blah blah blah. I wrote this because a few years ago when I was in my tomboy phase he beat the shit outta me when he found an>!erotica fantasy with my crush that I had written in Notes app and mockingly told me if I get into a competition of writing lewd stuff I'd score 100/100 and even asked me if I want to get married off so early??. In the same year I even told him that I'm a lesbian in a light hearted manner he pulled my hair & slapped me and said that I should be immune to this incurable western disease and didn't even give me a chance to say it was a joke. One day he also gave me Hare Krishna chanting mala so I can ask God to forgive me for my sins. !<. I can't really understand as how one can worship a God who had multiple affairs with girls both in his married & unmarried life, transformed into Mohini and slept with Shiva to give birth to a son who later on killed a female demon etc. and then proceed to act in an orthodox way.
P.S edited out people's faces.
We all know that the current scientific understanding of reality is an immense achievement of humankind. But the basis of science is an insistence on discovering the truth of the topic under investigation. It is from this insistence on truth that all scientific knowledge stems.
It is easy to make up theories about the nature of reality and convince others to believe them through religious acrobatics. One could threaten them with hell if they do not believe in a certain doctrine. One could tempt them with promises of heaven if they do. One could impose their views through the authority of religious leaders who claim wisdom derived from tradition. One could even persecute those who dare to question these beliefs.
However, when you begin to insist on testing your claims against reality, that is when darkness starts to dispel and science begins. What religions lack is an insistence on testing their claims against reality, relying instead on the authority of so-called "infallible" scriptures.
Therefore, what we should do—whether we are atheists or not—is spread awareness about the importance of TRUTH and the need to be serious in its pursuit. If your claims are true and withstand rigorous analysis, then great! If they do not, then they were never worth clinging to.
People who believe in falsehoods are like those who consume poison and spread its use in their societies. They harm themselves and corrode the societies they belong to.
Insist on TRUTH. That is all that matters. All change begins from there.
If there are any errors, I am sleep deprived, I do not care.
In this beautiful world my mother has created. O beautiful mother o time. O love o mine
Dare u o god, In the hills of kumaon, In the hills of gadwal Raise the flower from the bottom of the tress there Tickling their bottoms, the flowers grow Horny trees stand upright and Block the view of the sky about to cry Look the sun has tanned the clouds Look the man beneath calls her names The poet is a but a sickhead
Now weep o weep o weep
Beneath me lay the houses of non-egg laying humans. Their cold houses of stone.
Look o the girl is seeking out through the window. A breeze touches and kisses her cheeks. She too feels loved.
O I the girl, am speaking now. I too love you mother o nature. I too want to fondle those juicy milky breasts and drink the milk of the trees. These o hills are my love.
But not just these o mother. Not all is well o mother.
I m but a little girl growing in patriarchy. Even when I be a woman, I will never grow. With the windows closed, then only I am able to talk to the humans on the other side. The humans that are free, free from . .... ... It is I the poet, Cannot hear what the girl is saying. I wish you a good life, but the wind is hissing and so are my thoughts. May her toungue be sharp enough to kill her pither(father, protectors, captors). As the sun sets may her sorrow set too. But I too know her blissfulness will too. Such is the difficult mountain life.
O, now the poet says goodbye. He has to kill the gods. Sometimes, I kill Zeus, now he is man in my favourite womans harem, sometimes I meet indra and piss while its raining, sometimes Jesus, I make him drink my piss calling it wine. And mohammed the man who calls him a prophets, I just beat him up, the fictional man needs a hug, maybe all if them needed one. .... ... O what is it? What, the dream is over. The delusions of the gods are over.
