Question for Lowe table top with 2x alex drawer

I am debating to get a lowe table top with alex drawers goes with desk risers, here is my question

  1. does desk riser has a rubber on top of circle? If not do I need something to put on it to allow not table to slide off? Something maybe https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XGM4QTD?ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_69QGFSY87YB83WA0WQN3_1&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1&th=1 this?

  2. since lowe is a butcher block table top, do anyone in here have a leg support under it? incase if it doesn't seg? I see people using https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DOZDUEK?ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_QFTYJ50ZK8RR6QWTWZHG&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1 these maybe 2-3 under the desk to keep it stabilize without using leg support from Ikea such as https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/olov-leg-adjustable-black-30264301/

Let me know what do you think? Thanks for checking I'm on a verge of getting something in a couple weeks to March once my $ is sort out.

Needing an in wall box to hide 5gbps to usbc adapter

I'm wanting to organize my cable management and make everything look more clean. I currently run a 5gb ethernet adapter (https://a.co/d/a1kNrQL) and would like to connect it to a usbc keystone and hide it I my wall. Essentially, there will only be a cable coming from my wall and going to my device. While the adapter doesn't get super hot, I'm still concerned about putting it in my wall without it being in a box. Does a one gang box with a "hidden" in wall extender exist that might be able to fit this adapter?

Looking for a standing desk 59 inches wide with cable management/power and a PC mount that isn't as much as a Magnus Pro ($1000)?

I'm in need of a standing desk, but I have some specific needs I would like to fulfill and I'm wondering if my needs are even meetable for under $1k (The cost of the Magnus Pro + 2 PC mounts).

I have three monitors, and the space in my apartment for a desk is just shy of 60 inches. I would love to be able to mount my PC and subwoofer underneath. A way to manage cables and hold a power supply would be really helpful, since right now my power strip sits on the windowsill precariously.

Front underside of the desk should be smooth so I can attach my keyboard table or steering wheel for racing sims. My current desk has a big metal bar that runs the length of the desk for the tabletop so I can't attach anything.

I looked at the Magnus Pro, it's really expensive. I looked at the Autonomous 2 and 5, but their PC mounts don't fit my case (Lian Li LANCOOL II). I am open to cable management accessories, if there's any decent ones. Usually the best ones come designed for the desk and I haven't seen any Flexispot desks that do that? But I also am aware they have a LOT of desks and it's kind of difficult to discern which is the best fit/build quality.

Any insight ya'll could provide would be most appreciated.

So I got a kvm that finally did four pcs to dual monitors but sometimes I want one of my large monitor to be work pc and the ie independent monitor switching ?

Currently, I use two HDMI switches and one USB switch. This setup works, but I like the idea of a KVM switch as it would take up less space on my desk.

A switch with only two HDMI outputs wouldn’t work. It seems like I need an inline splitter to send the second output to my home PC.

But when am finished with work it would take the two hdmi ports from home pc.

And if am not using home pc it should display the two on work pc.

KVM switch between 3 and 2 monitor setup

Hey folks! I impulse bought a 2 monitor KVM switch. My idea was to have my 3 monitor gaming rig play steams or videos on the 3rd monitor while I work on the remaining 2 monitors. Does this work the way I’m envisioning it?

Also, I planned on having only 1 display port input from the work computer. It’s a MacBook Air and I’m using a usb hub to add an hdmi port. I’ve got an hdmi to dvi cable to connect it to the KVM.

Best webcam at this price range? [<$60]

I keep my webcam affixed to a monitor and use it constantly for video calls. These are the options I was looking at:

Anker PowerConf C200 2K Webcam

NewEye 60s-4K Webcam

EMEET C960 4K Webcam

Nisheng M3 4K Webcam

Razer Kiyo X 1080p

Logitech C920 Pro HD

I'd really prefer something that doesn't look grainy and looks sharp: which of these webcams are the best? Or another webcam in this price range if you have your own suggestion. Thanks in advance <3

Vesa adapters

I'm looking to wall mount a G9 57 inch with a tv mount but most can only do vesa 200x200 and the G9 has 100x100, curious if anyone ever used those vesa adapters. Wanted to know if its safe for heavier monitors.

KVM Switch inside monitor for Triple Monitor Setup.

Hi All!

I'm trying to do something for my Gaming/Work Needs, it goes like this:

I have 1 PC for Gaming and A MacMini I want to use only for work.

Triple Monitor Setup.

I bought a Gigabyte Gaming Monitor with a KVM Switch, I'm planning to connect both computers to this KVM Equipped Monitor and then the rest of the monitors will go directly to the respective computer (Mac and Windows) using different solutions such as HDMI or DP Cables.

My question is, will I be able to use all the monitors as usual and simply use the KVM Switch to control both computers using the same keyboard and mouse with all these 3 monitors connected to both PCs or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Planning: Speaker placement

Hello Battlestation pros,

I have what might be a niche question as searching hasn’t thrown up any relevant posts.

I’m planning my setup, which will sit on a 120x60cm (47x23.5”) motorised standing desk. Not a lot of real estate to play with, but will mostly be used in the seated position with a MacBook Pro either closed in a dock or open as a second screen. I don’t need lots of desk space as most of my work is typing based, and will only need the tabletop itself for occasional hand-written note taking.

My wish list:

  • Desk shelf (either 116cm or 91.5cm) from Balolo or similar
  • 27” monitor
  • Good desktop speakers, likely KEF LSX 2

My question: Given my space constraints, should I be going for a 116cm shelf (speakers sit on shelf) or 91.5cm (speakers sit either side of shelf and just fit with some toe in)?

I’m torn because 116cm will give me more flexibility on placement but introduces risk of resonance (particularly on a standing desk) but 91.5cm may be cramped and definitely more restrictive all round. I would guess the resonance issue might be avoided with some good stands?

Your wisdom is appreciated in advance.

Monitor in the corner of L-shape for more screen real estate, how should I split the desk?

So to picture the desk, firstly, I want to face into the corner of the desk at a 45° angle so I can get more screen real estate (probably a curved ultrawide, dunno yet). To make it more comfortable, I want to basically add a triangle into that corner so that the inside of the L is one long end, a 45°, another 45°, and then the other long end, and in that corner is where the monitor and keyboard will be.

Secondly, I want one side to have the desktop on top of the desk, fully visible, and the drawer section at the same side will basically be a pull-out bookshelf/DVD cabinet.

Third, I want the other side to basically be a productivity area, with an architect lamp, workspace, tools and utilities/junk drawer, etc etc.

Now, if I have the means to secure and clamp stuff together once it's moved to where I want it, would you guys suggest I split the corner section clean down the middle, or lop off one side and leave one longer than the other with the 45° corner at the joiner end? The main factor for this is the weight of the monitor and possible leg points underneath.

Desk help

Need help with finding an ideal desk to work/game/study at after moving out. I would ideally shoot for something longer than ~64 inches, and with about 30 inches of depth but I’m on a fairly tight budget and will probably settle for something smaller. I’m willing to stretch my budget to $300 dollars but would prefer something under $250. I’ve already seen those Ikea desk hacks and they look great and are in my budget, however, A, there isn’t really a proper mounting solution I’ve seen that I like and, B, I know the countertop tends to sag after a short while, I’ve also heard that you can just get a proper wooden butcher block to fix this but I have neither the space, nor patience to learn how to cure and coat it and whatever else you need to do right now. Sorry if this is worded properly, and thank you for reading, any help is appreciated

I've got a 27 inch monitor (HP x27c) and my desk is about 40L x 19.5D, and I'm about to transition from laptop to PC, any desk recommendations? (Other general recommendations are appreciated.) (Budget of around 180$)

I'm getting rid of the laptop soon to get a desktop, and I tested to see what the monitor would look like without an arm, and it is very uncomfortable. My desk unfortunately has little decorative edges on the bottom not allowing for an arm mount. https://www.homedepot.com/p/43-3-in-W-Retangular-Oak-Color-Wooden-Computer-Desk-941228127783/318451589?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&gQT=1 (Mine looks very similar but the black edges on the bottom are connected to the sides, expanding it very slightly)

Multiple light bars

I'm going to be setting up a triple (maybe quad 👀) monitor setup in my new flat. I want to get a light bar for each monitor and I've got my eyes on a BenQ one (with a wireless controller). I don't really want to have three controllers on my desk though.... Any suggestions? I've had a look but not seen any that you can daisy chain, that would be an epic feature

Will a monitor arm work with my desk

So I am thinking about getting a dual monitor arm to have more space on my desk. I am wondering if that would work with my desk because it has a lip around the edge. https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/george-oliver-4725-desk-w004040276.html?piid=1023705132

Whats your advice?

Hisense 32” & Acer 27” Mount

Hello,

Bit of a newbie with mounting TVs/monitors

I have a 32” Hisense smart tv (2024) and an Acer Nitro 27” monitor (2022)

I am wanting to place both on my desk - linked up separately (monitor to computer & TV to my PS4)

Just wondering how I would go about anchoring these to my desk, with minimal damage to the desk (unable to anchor to wall, as I do not own the home I reside in)

I know it isn’t as simple as buying a random monitor arm - especially with the location points for the TV to be able to screw in a monitor arm…

Any ideas on best anchored monitor arms or stores that can assist in person (in South Australia) 🙃

Any help is appreciated

Thank you 🙏🏻

3 monitor arm but with middle monitor adjustment

Hello,

i'm looking for a 3 monitor arm (or 3 monitor setup) that allows me to adjust middle monitor (move it closer or change angle). Most of the arms (or all arms) doesn't allow to adjust middle monitor, but i can't believe that there is no solution for that.

Is there a thing like that?

Seeking Advice for Work Laptop + Home Mac Mini Monitor/Keyboard Setup

I’m looking to create a setup that works for both my work laptop and home Mac Mini. My goal is to either: 1. Switch seamlessly between my work laptop and Mac Mini using the same wireless keyboard and mouse. 2. Use both systems simultaneously in a way that’s easy and intuitive.

I don’t currently have any monitors, but I’m considering: • Two 27-inch 4K monitors (budget around £200 each, open to suggestions). • A single ultrawide/large monitor that can display both systems at the same time.

Alternatively, I’ve thought about working primarily on my Mac Mini and using Remote Desktop to access my work laptop, dedicating some or all of the screen space to it.

I’m curious how others handle similar setups. What monitors, peripherals, or configurations would you recommend to create the most seamless experience? Any tips or product suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Gaming wall lights position for gaming/working

Hi guys, I'm struggling to find a good mix of ergonomics and cool factor for my home office. It's going to be 95% work and 5% gaming, still I have the pleasure of structuring in a way I like ir aesthetically bur not compromising the work activity (coding/engineering). I have roughly ten sections of govee gaming wall lights to place in a continuous design. My struggle is: Should I attach them in the empty sections of the exagons? This means I would face the led lights, they will be visible on the wall and I don't know if it's good for the eyes (looking at the monitor). Should I put them as high as possible? I can obviously switch them off while working but I would prefer a solution where they are visible and useful to dimish eye-strain rather than augment it. Thanks for your help!

Can someone please help me find a decent chair that won’t make me go broke

I’ve been looking through old Reddit posts to get advice, but literally all of them are smug rich people preaching about how “back pain is more expensive than any chair” and how you should drop 1000+ on a chair, but I literally cannot afford that, so would anyone be so kind as to offer me some actual help?

Any advice for building a butcher block desk?

So I'm planning on getting this desk from Rona and getting it cut to my desired size of 70"x30", and placing it on 2 Alex drawers, with 3 IKEA legs separated along the back to cover the 8 inch overhang. I'm planning to mount my two 27" monitors to the desk. I was planning on sanding and finishing it again since i'm sure it'll look weird once they cut it, though im not sure how difficult that will be considering it's laminated. I don't have a ton of experience with stuff like this, I've watched a few videos and the work doesn't seem too hard. I have the tools, but it's going to cost me around $600 CAD in total for the entire project, so I wanted to know if there was anything I should consider beforehand.

Are there any difficulties you faced while doing a similar project, any mistakes you made, is the wood strong enough to hold the monitors, are my legs overkill, is height a problem with alex drawers, etc... any advice at all would be really appreciated, thanks!

FWIW it does seem like real acacia wood. Math below

volume of table = (0.9906m)*(1.8796m)*(0.0381m)= 0.07094m^3
weight of table assuming density of real acacia = 0.07094m^3(640kg/m^3) = 45.4kg = 100.1lbs

which matches their weight of the desk

CHAIR HELP! Good reseller for steel series?

Hey Everyone,

I'm a 5'11" guy weighing around 165 lbs mid 20's, and I'm in the market for a new desk chair. After reading tons of posts, the consensus seems to be "stay away from gaming chairs" and stick with brands like Steelcase or Herman Miller. Unfortunately, buying them brand new is way out of my budget.

I recently came across a third-party seller, Madison Seating (Link below), offering these two brands for 1/3rd the price**.** Has anyone here purchased from them before? Are they a reliable reseller for these brands?

I'm also torn between different Steelcase models—Leap V2, Leap V1, or the Amia. If you've tried any of these, which would you recommend for all-day use, I work hybrid and game often, maybe I spend 2-6 hours in my chair 5 days a week. I think my office uses the Steelcase Think, it gives me no issues I could sit at work for 8 hours and have issues.

If I decide not to go with Steelcase, are there any good alternatives in the $250 price range? I know people often say, "Just save up for a $1K Herman Miller," but I'd really prefer something more budget-friendly for now.

Thanks in advance!

Help finding arm to mount curved 38" ultrawide monitors

I have two of these: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-38wn95c-w-ultrawide-monitor (38" curved ultrawide) 100x100 VESA

The specifications show that they only weigh 14.2 pounds without the stand, so they are under weight requirements of most arms. The problem I have found is that most say they only support up to 32". I want to mount these vertically. Has anyone had success mounting similar monitors vertically before? Any arm recommendations? The wall is drywall and I'll be able to find a stud to mount into.

Glass chair mat

I just want to share - I recently bought a tempered glass chair mat and some roller blade style wheels for my chair.

I'm using it now -- only 15 minutes. It's terrifying! It's really nice but, it's terrifying.

Fourth Smaller Monitor, touch screen?

Current Set up: https://imgur.com/a/TTmtTFU

I have a Display Port left on my computer and was thinking of adding another monitor.

Currently, when I'm using all three monitors, it's for programming code on the left, unity on the right and how the game looks on the top monitor. There are instances when I'm watching something on the side, or using a tutorial or discord chat and I have to split window one of the screens which can variably be good or bad.

So I was wondering if there are any recommended smaller screens I could have angled on the desk or even hooked to the base of that monitor pole. There's not much space so an angled kick stand style screen would probably be best, and if it was touch screen it would be nice for a quick pause or use.

I'm tempted to just use my phone but it's not enough screen space and I don't want to worry about battery or constant set up.

Open to any advice or suggestions! Thanks.

Random thought, maybe I should ditch the middle of the table set up and do something more with the side spaces and change up the mounted + stand set up.
