I am looking for a couple office chair options to help my posture which has deteriorated over the past decade and with it has gone my neck and spine. Any really good chairs for this? I don't know what else I should be looking for in chairs.
anybody know an affordable 110cmx70cm desk that has black legs and a wood / white top?
dimensions don't have to be exact, but has to be in the range of 100cm - 115cm and 65 - 80cm
So I’ve had a Secret Lab Titan Evo for about 2 years now, I love the build quality and features, but I hate to admit it’s one of the hardest chairs I’ve ever sat in. It’s like I spent $550 on a high quality slab of concrete. I know a ton of people suggest the Herman Miller Arron but I’m just not really a huge fan of mesh chairs especially for that price. Does anyone have any suggestions, budget isn’t really an issue as long as it’s not absurd.
Just bought a flexispot 55x28 desk (up from an ikea 48x24 desk)
I've got 2x 27" dells in landscape on the right, and a 24" dell in portrait on the left
issue is that the 27s are too damn big and come off the side of the desk by about 5-6" when i've got them offset like this.....i tried centering the mount completely but im not going to hurt myself just for the sake of aesthetics
should i go down to 2x 24s with a 27" vertical or just keep the overhang as is? i mean.........1440 vs 1080 is also an issue
also thought maybe center the monitors and stack them one above the other with a vertical on the left?
meh
Hello Everyone,
A few months ago I bought a couple of Alex drawers with a Saljan counter top to use as my desk which was a huge upgrade to what I previously had. I really enjoyed how good the setup looked and the space it provided without having to drill anything into the counter top.
The issue I am having now is that I have realized that I am too short for this setup. I am about 5 foot 6 inches and ideally would need a desk setup at least a few inches shorter in order to sit properly and have my feet on the floor.
I have tried using a foot rest but it's not the same and would prefer to just change my setup. I do not have a need for an adjustable desk and would prefer to not drill anything into the countertop.
Do y'all have any suggestions for things I can use as legs that are at least a few inches shorter? Considering the alex drawers are 27.5 inches, I am guessing anything in the 23-24 inch range should be fine. I am still planning on keeping my alex drawers next to my desk to use as a storage space so don't necessarily need drawers or a cabinet as my desk legs.
Thank you!
So I have been wanting to building a desk post grad out of college, but I need some opinions on what options I should choose. I really want just a linear, relatively deep desk probably around 30'' deep, 72'' in length. However, I am having difficulty choosing between those butcher block styles (i.e. something from ikea with the particle board or whatever, or something that is completely solid from Home Depot or something). The other option is my friend has a bunch of very long oak planks that are what I believe looked like 2x12 or 2x10 planks. The planks would be free, but I have little to no experience woodworking, but I am willing to try and I know people with the tools to do so. Would they be relatively equal in sturdiness? Would one be better than the other? Let me know, what you all would recommend. Thanks!
Hi all,
I'm currently using a steamlink but I want 4k video and the audio quality over internet isn't that good either. So I'm about going to get a long optical HDMI cable and a powered usb hub. The HDMI goes into my speaker setup (digital audio via HDMI should give optimal sound quality).
Are there any USB hubs that have bluetooth? I'd want to connect 2-4 controllers over bluetooth, aswell as my mouse and keyboard over USB.
Thanks in advance for any tips or advice :)
I've got a glass desk and it is what it is, not going anywhere at this point.
Has anyone had any success trying to hide cables? I've run them across the structure and the legs but you can still see them. Any out of the box solutions?
Basically the above but there are problems. I have 1 widescreen Samsung with 1 DP and one HDMI input. I plan on using DP for the PC, HDMI for the laptop and then switching the peripherals through a USB switch.
I've got a jsaux dock for the deck and would like to put the deck on the big screen as well but have run out of inputs.
Any suggestions that don't involve a KVM switch? I've had nothing but problems with these and have given up with that as a solution.
Thanks!
Trying to find something that looks like this. It’s a half pot (because it’s going to be nailed into the wall) with vines/leaves overflowing and extending downwards.
yo what's a good webcam that's not too expensive in 2024? is the logitech c920 or brio still the best?
Hello! I was wondering if there is some sort of LED lightning that reacts to game sounds? Like for example, in valorant, when you get shot, it flashes bright red?
I have found the govee AI sync box but it seems to be out of stock and its also quite expensive. I was wondering if there are any other alternatives that offer this function?
Otherwise I'll happily buy some rgb lights from aliexpress or amazon, thanks!
So, I'm knee-deep in learning Front-end dev and about to level up my workspace with a triple monitor setup.
I always had a dual 24" monitor rig, but I've got a shiny new 27" on the way to take center stage. Here's a peek at some numbered options I'm considering. I'd love to hear which number you've tried and enjoyed or disliked! https://imgur.com/a/1fC5QuU Perhaps even a 24" vertical on each side?
Mainly, I'll be coding, juggling tasks, doing research, and sneaking in some gaming sessions. So, to all you triple monitor pros out there, spill the beans!
Which setup worked best for you and why? Whether it's work hustle or playtime, I'm all ears for your wisdom.
Thanks!
Good morning all,
I run an inperson D&D game and I'm looking for a way to display a map on the main screen (TV Embedded in a table) but hide certain aspects of it, (locations of the map) but have the full view unrestricted on my main screen. (Laptop) Lately, I've just been using paper sheets to hide things, but I was wondering if there was a software or monitor trick that could help with this.

I recently bought a new monitor knowing it was going to be too big for my current desk (a mcm desk I've had for years). I didn't see it as a problem because I assumed that it would be easy to find another desk. I've been looking for 2 months now with not so much luck. Currently using a fold out table lol. Open to DIY options but I'm the least handy person ever when it comes to building anything, espically furniture related, so if anyone has any recommendations and can provide thorough details that would be helpful. Or just any brands or links to desk for recommendations.
I have an extra large Omnidesk.
I have a Main Monitor 43" Ultrawide, left monitor VERTICAL 27", right monitor 31.5" Curved. (3 monitors)
I want to put my work laptop on my left as well but on the table, and connect it to my main PC so that I can do work on my main PC without sacrificing 1 monitor and adding additional keyboard and mouse.
I'm new to PC setups, so what options do I have?
I have a PC at work with an RTX 4090 and the PC is very huge, like an ATX+ case. This barely fits under my work desk and I have considering purchasing / building a future RTX 4090 / RTX 5090 PC for my own personal use? Is it wise to go with a SFF PC or just go with the ultimate large sized build like the one in my work?
So I believe I over researched and gave my brain a system overload because I am hitting a brick wall as to what the best option is for my WFH setup. I started a new job and I have to use their work laptop (Okta security, etc.). They will expense whatever I need, however, I am not looking to ask for anything over $200. Ideally, $100 or less.
My personal setup, that I would still like to utilize my two monitors, and be able to switch to my personal PC, is as follows:
What I am trying to do:
Bonus question:
TYSM in advance!
I've been searching for a power strip that has built-in USB-C and USB ports in order to save some clutter for cable management.
I'd only be using the ports to charge my Macbook Pro and iPhone.
However, the few that i've bought online have an insanely slow charge time and they essentially don't even charge my Macbook, they just prevent the battery from draining.
Anyone found any decent power strips with USB ports that are actually useful?
I think the time has come to upgrade the desk I’ve had for a very long time. I am torn between multiple options, and I could use some advice or guidance on which desk to pick. My immediate thoughts are that I would like more space, and I enjoy keyboard trays (I am not sure why, maybe because I got used to having my mouse and keyboard on different levels? The mouse on the desk, and the keyboard on the tray).
My thoughts are that I can do one of the following:
I could get a standing desk from one of these companies like uplift, or flexispot, and then add a keyboard tray. However, they are quite expensive, and I do not know if I would use the standing feature. Given that, would it still be worth it? A large L shaped desk might be cool, but where would I put my desktop? It cannot live on the floor.
I could go the IKEA route, assemble a desk using the drawers and desk legs. Though I would probably purchase something a bit more solid for the top (i.e. butcher block from Homedepot/Lowes/etc.…). That would require staining, I realize. Additionally, IKEA is a bit of a hike, but if planned correctly, it should not be an issue.
Some other solid desk?
There is just so much information out there on desks and creating a workspace, I’m not certain what would be beneficial. I primarily use my space for work and gaming. I do not care much about LED lights or anything of that nature. Please help!
I have this desk and I was wondering if anyone knows of a monitor arm that would fit with the abnormally thick and deep supports around the desk. Its around 3.5 cm deep and 7.25 cm thick.
My 32" monitor died. I bought a new 32" monitor. The dead monitor was mounted with VESA 200x100. The new monitor specs online (not arrived yet) say VESA 100x100.
Will I need some type of monitor for this?
I see a lot of references for adapters that go the other way (100x100 to 200x100), but am having a hard time finding what I'm looking for.
Thanks!
I've got a triple monitor setup on a 180cm wide office desk with my PC setup on there with a built in capture card for streaming.
I don't really have space for any consoles on my desk so I'm planning to build some shelving units in the corner to place them, but I'm not sure if I want to cable them from the shelving units towards my PC with a HDMI splitter, or just move them to my desk as I wish to play them. What would be everyones advice or Reddit hive mind?
Note: The shelving units will only be a few feet from my desk
Hi all,
Looking to build on my current desktop with a vertical monitor. I currently have an LG 27" 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) Monitor. I've read recommendations that I should try to have similar resolutions, so which would y'all recommend?
I've heard 24" is ideal, but LG's don't rotate?
Here’s my setup: includes images and a list of all my peripherals.
You can see on some of the closer up ones how I have lots of wires coming down from the back and they’re all stuffed down the right hand side with two extension leads. Almost everything on my desk has a cable and I’d prefer not to be drilling.
Any advice for how I can have no cables in sight for this build?
I’ve got a dual monitor set up but the mounting points for each monitor is different. One monitor sits higher than the other on a dual arm stand.
I need to find a monitor stand that allows me to adjust each arm independently so I can have both my monitors at the same level.
Does anyone have a recommendation on cost effective monitor stands that would do this?
Looking for suggestions, preferably as budget friendly as possible. I want to be able to use my set up for both gaming and work.
Future proofing would also be cool as I may be purchasing a PC for gaming and personal use in the near future. Nothing fancy.
Any recommendations or other ideas for how to make this work?
Here are my specs, thank you in advance!
- 2 ASUS VN279 monitors (1 HDMI, 1DP, 1 D-Sub)
- PS5 (HDMI)
- Dell Laptop (3 USB-C)
- Potential PC will be a basic PC enough to run something like helldivers
I'm currently spending a lot of time lugging my tower downstairs to play story games on the sofa and was wondering if there was a solid way to be able to play without moving the PC. I'm not sure about streaming with devices like the shield as my past experience is that there's too much latency for me and the visuals arent as good (maybe I'm a snob). The reason I play the story games downstairs is because the TV is 4k and I love having a more cinematic experience with my single player games. Looking for the best hard wire suggestions that would allow me to send the HDMI and USB capabilities downstairs. I'll add that I already have an ethernet running from this upstairs room down to the living room.

Looking fo a wall mounted triple monitor holder for 27" monitors. Ideally one that mounts to a single horizontal rail.
Wanted to avoid cutting holes in my butcherblock. I Was planning on running wires through the wall using brush plates. That turned out to be harder then I thought. Under the window has a horizontal stud 3" below where I put the plate. Also pulling wires through is very difficult to get through insulation. Should I give up and cut holes? Thinking I can convert the brush plates to sockets.
Also want a rack for all my homelab gear... Thinking of just building that custom.
