Hey all, I’m thinking of moving to Albany for a job in healthcare but this sub and google are kind of deterring me from doing so.
Are there any upsides to living in Albany?
Do the people that run this city even live here? Do they even drive around at all? This is nuts
Message me or comment if interested!
I've recently noticed that the only Jobs in Albany that pay a decent wage are jobs where you literally have to risk your life for a paycheck. Jail, Police, etc. These things ought not be. I definitely wouldn't take a sales job here ( the city is financially challenged). I've never seen so many stores shut down but remain open in other cities. I forsee more crime because they are literally starving the citizens with the lack of opportunities. Also the work environments in Albany are extremely toxic. The people seem ok but I guess the circumstances have made them bitter which is understandable. "Albany,GA is closed for business"
Anyone know if theres a Snap-On dealer around here? Looking to get a Christmas present for my husband and I’d love to not pay full price for it!
I see so many people selling watermelon and veggies on the side of the road around here. I grow gourmet mushrooms such as lions mane and a few types of oysters. I've reached out to the department of agriculture and they said as long as it's fresh and whole as it is from harvest I don't need any license but it can't be that easy
I'm needing a gig worker to drive to 18 houses and snap a photo of the front of house and street sign for verification. Inbox me for more info.Pay to be discussed and is made upon completion. Not able to pay in advance.
Hi I am moving from Florida - 1 adult and 2 dogs, they weigh 20 pounds put together. I work full time from home and have been at the same company for the last 3 years, my income is around 3,000 a month. I have okay credit currently working on it, but also attempting to save and eat and live... I'm basically trying to start over and be able to breath, i feel like I am drowning down here. My rent has more than doubled in the last 2 years and I went from being a 2 income household to 1. I work hard, I just want to be able to live.
I am not in a rush - I can move tomorrow, next month or next year. I have never moved out of the state before and I imagine even getting fully moved will be drawn out.
I am attempting to manifest a yard, an open kitchen, parking on the property (not off the road), and enough space to stretch out and make a home.. I'd also like something that can be long term, i know leases are 12 month terms, but I'd like to live somewhere i won't have to worry about moving from the next 2 - 3 years.
:) i know i may not get everything on my list, just putting ot our there.
Also, looking for friends 🧡 I literally know 0 ppl there. I found the city by making a list of things I need to live near - Publix, parks, nice mix of quietness, and a social scene.
Last thing, I can also move to other cities. Just please no mountains or snow.
Thanks in advance for any and all!
*this exact post was also posted in MOBILE AL... *open to other cities
Any recommendations for teeth whitening in the area?
My mom's 57 she lives with me, on disability. She has no friends sits around the house all day. I feel like she's kinda depressed due to no social life. Id like to find something like that she can attend 3 or more days a week just to get her out the house and socializing with people her age. It doesn't have to be anything free, I just need some ideas.

Got a job in Albany looking to live within 30-45 min of town. Anywhere with good schools, neighborhoods, etc?
It seems that people are finding that Reddit is actually becoming more and more popular as a social networking platform. I love to see this, especially being part of the younger adult crowd that has effectively nothing to do around town. The mall is dying, there is no nightlife to speak of, all the hotels are known to be hotspots of danger, drugs, or a combination of both (I should know, I have been living in the Knight's Inn for a few weeks now, Dominos won't even deliver to me.) I want to make a shout out call to all those who are looking to try and meet new people, to find new friends, to make something new and fun out of this quiet little concrete hole we call a "City" and hopefully, with enough time and support, start to make a change in this community that has otherwise gone completely unchanged since the early 80's. The world has grown up, moved on, and changed. I think it's about time we did the same, and I am looking forward to seeing where we end up. My DM's are open, and I will be free for the next few days and any time outside of work.
Looking for Low-Cost Dental Care in Albany, GA
Hi everyone,
I’m seeking affordable dental care options in Albany, GA. I need a deep cleaning, and I have impacted teeth (#17 and #32) that need extraction. I don’t have insurance but am willing to explore payment plans. If anyone has recommendations for clinics or dentists who can help, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
