1423. Jean Domprémi, "secular and illiterate", is accused in Paris of illegal practice of medicine by the masters of the Faculty, but he appeals to Parliament and, with his long experience, his notoriety and the esteem of masters of the University, he will never be condemned.

29th of September 1423. The King of Germany, later Emperor Sigismund, transfered the Imperial Regalia "for eternal safekeeping" to the city of Nuremberg in a document, where they remained until 1796, when the advance of French troops required their removal to Regensburg and thence to Vienna.

26 September 1423: The Battle of La Brossinière is fought in France near Bourgon in what is now the Mayenne département. The English force of 2,800 men, under the command of Sir John De la Pole, is crushed by the armies of France, Anjou and Maine, and the English suffer more than 1,400 deaths.

On June 21st, Joanna II of Naples revoked the adoption she had made of Alfonso V of Aragon after the latter's arrest of her favourite, the grand seneschal Giovanni Caracciolo on May 22. On September 14, she adopted the pretender Louis III of Anjou in his place.

13th of September 1423. Greece: Despot Andronicus cedes Thessalonica (Thessaloniki) to Venice, as he can no longer defend it against the Turks (the Ottoman Empire).

1423. In Pavia, Italy, five years after the end of the Council of Constance, a new assembly met on schedule and proclaimed the superiority of the council over the pope. Martin V therefore dissolved it.
