Mod menu isn’t showing up in game

I’m very new to modding so bear with me. Im trying to get sword fx next gen to work. I obv placed the mods folder into mods, and the xml file into bin>config>r4game>user_config_matrix>pcper the instructions. This is also where I placed the menu filelist updater. I run it and it says “filelists successfully updated.” Script merger also isn’t detecting any conflicts. However, I go to load up the game, and the mod menu options are nowhere to be found. I have to assume this is user error on my part but I have 0 clue what I’m doing wrong. I can provide pictures if need be but any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated bc I’m pretty lost

W3EE Redux for first playthrough?

Basically the title. I like playing games on hardcore difficulties. And i dont generally replay games. So im thinking of adding some mods like this one immediately.

From what ive read most people think this mod improves the game (as long as youre into hard games). So how good of an idea is it to just use it for my first playthrough?

never played any witcher games and am going in completely blind.

Which curated modlist/combat overhauls are there? What are the big options?

So i wanna do a new run but with some modslists that overhaul combat, skills and what not, not so much visual improvements (cuz damn this game looks fine specially with the next gen update) but if a visual mod is in a overhaul i wouldnt object.

Also i am looking for a good direction on which quests to take (good storylines) and which to skip (openworld/fetch quests). Next to that i am planning on doing a lot of Gwent (which i completely ignored first run). I have to say that i already installed the game and really like the quickcast (never understood why this wasnt a day 1 thing).

What are the big overhauls and or "modlist compilations" and what are their strengths/weaknesses or what do they focus on?

Is W3EE Redux a nice change? I like a challenge, and think i played my first playthrough on the highest diff for most of the time. Never like the powercreep that seems to happen in games (getting overpowered nearing the end of the game).

I ask for modlists compilations or overhauls specifically in stead of a loose mods because as i understood not all mods work with each other and need to be merged with the merger. I do however plan on using TW3MM and Merger. I am ofcourse on 4.04 Next Gen version of the game.

AMD 5700 + nVidia 4070 (if wondering if a visual mod would possible, i still seems to have some room)

Any good pointers are welcome.

sprinting turns back to jog in a few seconds

if I press the sprint button after only a few seconds it turns back into the speed it would be if I wasnt running. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

How to change textures of geralts face

Hi everyone, I am playing the witcher next gen, but i just cant be satisfied with the face mods of geralt. I like the brutal face mod a lot because it makes geralt look rough but i dont like how much wrinkles he has with it. Is there like a way to combine some mods? i have tried using face textures of some mods that make geralt appear younger in the brutal face mod but it just doesn't help, maybe there are some mods i can combine so that geralt looks like the brutal face mod but without all the wrinkles? especially the wrinkles on the eyes bro looks like he needs to sleep asap.

TW3 NEXT GEN MOD REQUEST

Hello everyone i love black and i hate nilfgaard so my request is about nilfgaardian horse armor dlc(saddle,bags and mask) i want to remove all the suns as you expect recolor golden features in silver or metalic black i want the bags completely black and lastly i want the whole thing a litle bit darker because it looks like dark brown rather than black i tried it myself but it seems god didnt grant me the required skills i did research and find not a single mod about this dlc so if anyone can help me its much appreciated

Withcer sense dont seem to be working with the nextgen ultimate list on nexus?

Earlier, I was testing things out, and while Friendly Focus and Glowing Containers seem to be working fine, I’ve encountered a major issue with Witcher Sense. Now, every lootable object glows constantly, which makes the game semi-playable, but quest clues aren’t interactable and don’t glow at all. This is preventing me from progressing in several quests. Has anyone experienced this or found a fix?

animation mods // walking // scars // geralt jumping instead of walking smooth

Hello guys, I am struggling to fix an issue I have with the game.

When I am standing still and I start to go forward, Geralt make a jump forward before walking smoothly.

this is a real pain because you are constantly stopping and walking back and each time I stop to speak to an NPC, when I am trying to change direction the animation is not smooth. I mean geralt litteraly kinda makes a move forward like he is gonna run and then walk. that is ugly as hell.

I have no clue how to fix it. I know a mod called scars that change animation combat (I am using blood and steel, and unfortuntely I am unable to make scars working on my mods list (75 mods kinda). i am merging everything like I did with the 75 mods but SCAAR is the only mod I have trouble with .

anyway I don't give a sh_t about scars, I just want my geralt to walk smoothly.

can somebody helps? it breaak severly my game :( thanks

Long Loading in Conversations (Next Gen)

I have a beefy PC with the Next Gen game. I remember the old version had a mod limit or something that caused this but I don't know what else would cause it. I do have mods but nowhere near that amount - basically W3EE redux and a lot of patches/fixes/textures. I did install reshade and I think it might've corresponded with that? Though I uninstalled it and it still is causing long load times in between dialogue selections.

Wolvenkit Set Up

I tried to set up wolvenkit but it seems like it only works with cyberpunk 2077, there is no option for the witcher 3 when selecting the game exe path? (I can select the witcher 3 game exe but it doesn't work, i can't press the finish button / when selecting the witcher 3 exe it shows the option for cyberpunk 2077 exe on the side but not for witcher 3)

I downloaded it from here: https://wiki.redmodding.org/wolvenkit/getting-started/download is this the wrong version, do I need another version for witcher 3?

I feel like I missed something or I am to stupid , can somone who uses it for Witcher 3 tell me how he did it?

Friendlyhud/meditation mod(s) Errors with Critical slow motion combat REDUX - next gen

For some reason, the Crit slow mo combat mod is always conflicting with the friendlyhud (and friendly meditation mods) on next gen v4.04. They each work perfectly fine without each other but as soon as I install one and the other it gives me Errors when launching. Both friendly mods work fine together, only when I add crit slow mo mod it gives errors.

Script merger isn't an issue between these 2 mods at least, only one manual merge needed using script merger. I'm not knowledgeable of coding and am a noob to modding but it seems like it has to do with the merged files as it always tells me to overwrite merged files in script merger. Is this a compatibility issue or am I doing something wrong.

I have even disabled all mods and retried enabling just those 2 mods and reinstalled both to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

Witcher 3 improved horse control error even after using script merger

I have used script merger and followed all of my mod tutorials carefully and I still get this error.

mods to smooth walk with gerald

Since I am modding the game, I got an animation issue with gerald in walk mod.

first of all I got a new HE keyboard Hall effect, I am really sad in the witcher you can not walk/run with the forward key (apparently something to do with coding the game), u need to actually press the walk run button to be able to change it.

Now about my issue, when I am stopping Gerald and then walking, gerald makes like a jump forward, before starting to walk calmely and smoothly.

it seems that animation wise, he is gonna run, but then he slow dow to walk. really annoying.

is there a mods to smooth those animation ? I heard about SCARS but unfortunaltely it's not compatible with my main mods (vladimir UI)

I am unlucky because two of the best mods to change combat (scars, blood and steel) do not work with VLADIMIR UI.

Please help me on this matter, would really appreciate it :)

Next Gen ultimate modlist + magic spells

Hi!

Was wondering if anyone is using the next Gen ultimate modlist with magic spells mod. I've added random encounters without problems but also wanna add magic spells. Tho I'm really new to script merging and so. So if anyone done it would you mind telling if it works and how you did it?

trying to install vladimir UI with mod manager

Hey, I already got 49 mods on my witcher 3.

I don''t understand much with modding. what I am able to do is download mods, install them via mod manager, solve conflicts with script merger. so that is easy.

But some mod I want to use, like vladimir UI, created conflits that I can not solve with script merger.

What is happening.....I got a text files that pop up with vanilla version and vladimir UI version, some texts are in RED ( I guess those lines creates conflicts). But I have no clue what I should do at this point.

can somebody help? I really need to install vladimir UI, mandatory for me (way better than vanilla UI).

any advice is appreciated thannks

New to modding, how to properly start the game?

Dumb question, playing Witcher 3 for the first time so most of my mods are just HD reworks and similar lifestyle mods. But how do I start the game to use these mods? I use Vortex/Steam Thank you all I’m looking forward to this!

Issues merging mods. First time modding witcher, could i get some help?

I just installed a few mods, tried launching after every install worked great, then i installed the TradeMan mod which caused a script error when i launched, i then downloaded script merger after doing some reading and that fixed it. Downloading the Slots Slots SLOTS mod which caused an error so i downloaded the gui since the script log included GUI in it. That didn't work and also added another error. i merged scripts and now there are more errors. Could anyone take a look at the log and help me out?

Mod request for Lubberkin/Dea model swap

Hello everyone

Sorry in advance, I'm not sure if this is even the right place to ask for this, or the difficulty of developing such a mod, unfortunately I've only installed and used mods but thought I'd share.

I'm currently replaying W3 v1.31 and have always detested the cutscene + following mission where the Lubberkin rises from her grave, in no small part thanks to videogamedunkey for pointing out and making fun of how ridiculous she looks with her long tongue.

My idea, if possible, is to replace the ghostly version with a ghost-ified model of one of the generic female children models, she can either float or run, as long as I can get rid of that ridiculous floating baby.

I know this might not be "essential", but I think there is a place for mods with a smaller scope which aim to fix one specific thing... AND, imho, it would certainly improve the emotional aspect of the quest (the mod could also include an option that she would appear at night in random places around Crow's Perch)

I would also appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction so that I might give it a shot myself.
