Forreals I was playing the Hunter/Garcia classic Ruben & Cherise... But I love the suit and it suits Spiders....
In 2005’s MGM Studios v. Grokster, the Supreme Court of the United States decided a copyright infringement action brought by music copyright holders against two peer-to-peer file sharing softwares similar to Napster (Grokster and StreamCast). As part of her concurring opinion, Justice Ginsburg referenced Wilco in her discussion of how non-infringing uses exist for peer-to-peer softwares because artists like Wilco encourage and allow open file-sharing consumer behavior. This case is an important legal precedent for assessing secondary liability for companies that create technology that facilitates copyright infringement by its users.
Anyone else feel, let down by Wilco? I was listening to uncle Tupelo and early Wilco like I always do and was so confused as to how conscientious Jeff’s music has seemingly always been, yet their silence on Gaza is honestly quite, disappointing. I understand there is a lot of interpersonal differences in thought but in such an important election, I just feel like they have under utilized their voice to do good. I don’t mean mean this as a witch hunt with pitchforks I’m just a naive 22 year old who loves Wilco more than any other band and sharing their views and wondering if anyone felt the same.
pictures for my costume inspired by she's a jar, heavy lid and all :)
lore: i was in a situationship this summer where i was not treated well. the guy's favourite song of all time is wilco's she's a jar. it's the song that plays in his head when he feels romantically towards someone, so not only did he put it on a playlist of songs that reminded him of me, it was ALSO the relationship song for his most recent ex!! i broke things off in the beginning of october after many other unkind behaviours and romantic faux pas, but i've still been feeling very angsty about the way he treated me, so i channeled that spite into creativity and dressed as a jar for halloween this year! after all, nothing is scarier than getting heartbroken over a mediocre man who can't commit to a relationship but is overly committed to one song haha
i don't listen to wilco, but i hope their fans who see this can appreciate the costume for what it is. materials are cardboard, paint, vinyl film, hot glue, and hope 😁✌️
I missed out when the tickets were announced. Put my name on the waitlist but haven't heard anything. Does anybody happen to have a spare ticket for any of the days? Thanks
Apologies, if not allowed. I have an extra for the Nick Lowe show at Lincoln Hall in Chicago tomorrow. Not really looking for anything besides maybe a beer.
I had “company in my back” on my playlist and tried to click back to the album. When I did it said it wasn’t available in my country or region, and my friend can’t find it on his either. Anyone know what’s up with this?
I rarely take pics at shows, but had to take a few of this one. The one and only PHILCO show. 8.26.22
H played a pretty even mix of Wilco songs and his solo stuff. There was some people in the front that talked through the show and he mentioned multiple times that it was driving him crazy but they wouldn’t stop. Other than that though it was a lot of fun.
My high school buddies and I who have been fans for over 20 years a looking to have a reunion. Thanks!
This is a cool version. Enjoyed this video tremendously.
Obama was just talking and referenced Jeff and his Dad.
Fantastic show at the Barrymore in Madison on the 19th. Special thanks to the gentleman who took some stuff on the bus for Jeff to sign afterwards. Special all around.
Looking for face + fees. Can meet in person at will-call this evening.
Original sitters fell through and all other options exhausted. Just looking to get what I paid for them. DM if interested.
I know there’s another post for the same show, but I had a family emergency and can’t go. Just seeking face. Please let me know.
I am looking for Wilco tickets for the Saturday, December 14th 2024 show at The Palace in St. Paul, MN.
Tickets available for Tweedy in Madison, WI (10/19). Resposting this because I had the wrong date in my original one.
I have 2 tickets for the Jeff Tweedy show in Madison, WI on October 19th available for sale. We bought these a couple of months ago, but just this week had a family emergency and are no longer able to make it.
If anyone is interested, please PM me. I’ve already spoken to will call and because of the circumstances, they will transfer the tickets. I’m not asking for anything over face value (let me know what you can do) and do not care about the convenience fee. Just don’t want the tickets to go to waste!
I have an extra 3rd row center seat for Jeff solo in Omaha on Sunday. Will sell for less than face value. Let me know! 🤘🏼
On discogs I found a compilation disc that said it had an 8:49 version of Passenger Side, so I decided to buy it and see what it was. The first 2 minutes was a live version of Passenger Side, then 5 minutes of silence, then two minutes of a song that I can't identify. Shazam doesn't recognize it and I've searched the internet for the lyrics, but get no hints. It's a garage band. The lyrics of the first verse go like this:
when I was a young i had a dog
it was the perfect pet
but then one day it went raving made
we had to call a vet
the angry dog bit the vet
and we took the dog back home
we put the dog in a dumpster
so he'd leave us alone
who let the dog out of the dumpster 4x
Anyone have any idea what is up with this track? On the back of the CD it lists 18 tracks with WILCO passenger side as the last track, so I guess this is some sort of hidden track.
