So.. I enjoy my Corvette. It's fun, quick, and a eye catcher. But.. I just feel like I am more of a tech ev guy than a sports car enthusiast. I've driven Teslas before and enjoyed them every single time. Tho, I've only driven them for weekends never more than that. I wonder if maybe I'll miss the feeling of the V8 engine and after a couple of months be left wanting more from the Model 3.
The model 3 would be a HUGE upgrade. I've been financially put in a good position to be able to lease the Tesla. Teslas deprecation, lower leases, and my lack of getting attached to vehicles and ending up wanting to change every year make me feel inclined to believe that the Tesla might be the move.
Corvette runs smooth but has its quirks, it is almost 17 years old tbh.
TLDR: love my C6, worried I'ma regret selling it to lease a Tesla Model 3 that I also love.
Im looking to buy my first car as a fresh 18 year old and came across a 2010 honda civic lx with a little less than 140k miles for about 7750 before tax. Is this a good deal? Im looking to have a cheap sustaining car for the rest of highschool and through college with little maintenance.
My wife is pregnant. It's still very early, before 7 weeks.
I have a two door VW GTI, so if this works out we'll need a new car.
I'm wondering if I should buy the car now. We're looking at used Audi Q5s. I realize that tariffs would only impact new cars, but wouldn't a constrained supply of new cars make used cars more expensive?
Would you buy now, or wait and see what happens?
Here's the situation: I have a 2016 Kia Soul, and the engine, is well... a Kia engine. I've gone back and forth with the dealer, they've extended the warranty, but I'm coming to the end of wanting to deal with this. (Example: I'm working from home today because the check engine light came on, and it's in limp mode, and I'm afraid to drive it...) All of that to say, I'm ready to sell it and get something else.
I need something slightly bigger than my Soul, but I'd like it to feel smaller when I drive it. (Think tighter turning radius, minimal blind spots, for example.) I'm a pretty serious gardener, so part of me is thinking about a small truck, since that would be handy during gardening season, but I'd be ok with a trunk space that's easy to clean. I tend to keep cars for a good long while (I'm 42 and the Soul is the 3rd car I've had since I was 23), so a car that will last is important to me. I'm in Michigan, so it needs to be able to handle winter driving (but it doesn't have to be four-wheel or all-wheel drive - I drove a Toyota Matrix through 6 northern Michigan winters and only got stuck once).
And, the kicker, I'd really rather not spend more than $25,000ish. Suggestions of what I should be considering?
2025 Honda accord hybrid sport-urban grey pearl, for $36,500 (Inclusive of taxes). Is this a good deal?
Hello,
I was looking for an used car to buy, and looking around dealership aroud me, and based on my budged/need, i narrowed down to 2 cars.
One is a 2017 madza3, 1.5 diesel 105cv, 120000km for 13k €, the second one is a 2017 kia ceed, 1.6 crdi diesel 110cv, 63000km for 11k €.
What do you think is the best deal? Any other suggestion? Which one will be easer to maintain and will last me longer?
My husband and I share one car and live in the city. Our current car is a Subaru Legacy that is crazy under its lease mileage but is coming due in April. We really only drive 12K miles a year and that’s adding a big buffer as well. We’re looking for a midsize SUV with a bit of juice to it. My parameters are below, please share any and all advice!!
We looked at the Mercedes GLC, which I LOVED, however, even with the promos it makes no sense financially. In a perfect world, I’d get that car but it’s more important to grow our family and set up for the long term future than to be cool.
My last car was a Volvo XC60 which I also loved but the pricing on those seems to have moved up since I got mine.
EDIT: We cannot charge an electric vehicle in our driveway/garage so I am not interested in any purely electric cars and plug ins are also likely out (more money for a feature we won’t use 90% of the time)
2025 Honda accord hybrid sport-urban grey pearl, for $36,500 (Inclusive of taxes). Is this a good deal?
Any input would be greatly appreciated, love both vehicles but not a car guy so I don’t know too much about either.
Thank you in advance
I really want a Toyota Celica, but a 2005 will give me old car problems. My other option is a 5 speed Civic. (This is not the Si model) How problematic are 2000s car problems? Can I have a dealership make it like new?
Hello! Recently i’ve been wanting to work more on my project car that i also use as a daily and the only downside is i have to get it running back in a couple days with no time to sit because it’s my only car and i have to get to places, I was just wondering what’s a good cheap ass car I can use to go to work which is about a 30 mile drive there and back. I just need something that’ll help fill in the spot for when i’m working on my car
I am looking to buy a first car soon, and my criteria is essentially a no-nonsense econobox that will get me and some luggage from A to B in the cheapest, most reliable way possible. I don't need all these fancy useless features that are in cars nowadays. All I need is for the car to be under $5000 in good condition used, have good fuel economy, be reliable, and even on the odd chance that it does break down, be so simple that I can fix it myself, or if I can't it will be easy and cheap. In my view, the more moving things are on a car, the higher the chance something is going to break. I also want it to have a decent amount of space for cargo so a hatchback body is preferable, as well as aircon, and a manual gearbox. I wouldn't mind cruise control and some offroad ability either, but those are not necessities. I did some research, and the Mitsubishi Mirage seems to match my critera pretty well. Are there any similar or better alternatives? Thanks for your answers!
I don't want a lot of repairs but I'm don't want a Toyota or Honda. What do you think of a USED Bronco, BMW, Infiniti, or Jeep? Thank you!
Hi all!
Having driven company cars all my life, looking for a car to own now seems like a really big task. I have the feeling that all cars have been abused and can break down at any moment. Im quite anxious about this.
I do not have a lot of budget, but I have found a 2004 V50 with the 2.4 engine with 160K km on it. After some research, this seems to be a great car with a great engine.
HOWEVER, here's the catch: its cheap (4000 euros), but there is only service history up to 2017. After that there is none. The garage owner bought it via a dealer, so he's none the wiser either. He says he cannot know for sure if the timing belt has been replaced anything. He also says that it doenst mean that there has been no maintenaince done, it may just have not been logged.
The car looks very decent, so one would assume it has been taken care of, but then again thats the gamble. I can leave a link in the comments if it would help!
What would you do in this case? It is a very nice car with not a lot of KMs, but this gamble man....
Thinking about getting an EV, but can’t decide between the Macan and the Lotus Eletre. Macan’s a classic no need to say much there. But the Eletre really caught my attention an iconic UK brand going electric, and it’s doing well in China and the UK. Haven’t see much about it in the US though.
Looking for my first car and have narrowed down these two for the most part. I like the tech in both but i hear the 3 is more "fun" and engaging to drive which id perfer. I also fear the CVT having issues due to myself not driving the smartest off the line. (driving like an idiot) Plan to daily it in a snow state for atleast 3 years.
A few months ago my '09 v8 f150's engine had an internal failure, and needed a new engine. Getting it replaced would have costed as much as the truck, and I didn't have the time to do the swap myself. I listed it on marketplace as is, and it's been there since. Recently, someone offered a trade for a 2014 Chrysler 200 LX with the 2.4l, 158k miles, 4 speed auto. It is clean and has clearly been well maintained. VIN returns no accidents and this guy is the first owner. Should I take the trade, and if so, anything I should know about?
Im looking to get a second car soon and im hoping i can get opinions from people who own/have owned one of the cars on the list of stuff im considering. Please spare me any comments of “euro bad, buy soulless econobox instead” I do 50/50 highway and city driving and when the weather is decent i usually take one of my motorcycles to work. It doesn’t have to be super reliable and i can diy a lot of stuff. Under 15k budget

Based in USA. Does anyone know the cheapest New SUV with seat memory? It seems like many models only provide seat memory in the highest trim which is frustrating and some lower tier models don't even offer it at all regardless of trim. I share the car with my gf (1 parking space in a condo so can't get 2 cars) and she is very particular about her seating position. Just wondering if anyone has done research on this before? Thanks!
Hello! I’ve been recently considering buying a car for the very first time but know nothing about them. The extent of my knowledge is that I like how some cars look and don’t like how others look. I have a baseline for what I’m looking for in a car, but beyond that have no idea what to look for specifically. I don’t even know what I need to be able to buy a car besides a license and the money to purchase one!
The things I know are a must have are;
Things I’d like but can live without;
Cars I’m super into to give you an idea of what I’m looking for visually;
Some questions I have regarding buying a car;
If there’s anything more you feel like I should know, please share. Thanks for the help!
I need a really fuel efficient (35+ mpg or more) vehicle for doing a highway trip 3-4 times a month, 895 miles round trip, all highway miles. Under $10k.
It wont be my daily so I don’t care about features, size, drivetrain, or transmission, I’m fine with an old, tiny, bare bones, manual everything vehicle if that will be what gives me the most efficiency, it also needs to be reliable as I obviously don’t want to get stuck somewhere in the middle of my 900 mile trip.
Obviously the Prius comes to mind but for my budget, most have high miles and I’m worried about the battery needing replacing.
I am looking to buy a BMW 540I XDrive. I live in Canada. I have 2 options. One is a 2021 18000kms going for $73K it has a premium package on it and the other one is a 2023 540i with 13000kms going for $81000 tax in, premium package as well only thing it doesn’t have is ventilated seats and wireless car. Both cars I am getting extended warranty for 4 years unlimited kms. Is it worth getting the extended warranty?
46M, married with 2 kids (6 & 9). my daily driver is an '18 Pilot (paid off), wife drives a '24 Civic. I've only had one "fun" car in my life until now - a black 2005 Accord V6 coupe I drove from 2008-2018. I really miss that car. Have been very fortunate in career progression last couple years, household income in mid-6-figures, no cc debt, and diligent about saving for retirement/529s/etc. Bonus is coming in March and my employer had a good 2024. Turning 47 in a couple weeks and thinking I'd like to treat myself to a new (to me) fun car (yes I know I'm a walking cliche).
couple points to mention:
My current list of candidates:
Let me know what you think! any recommendations for or against any of these? any cars you think are missing from the list that I should consider? TIA!
So, we're getting help with money down and the payments from a family member (it's a Christmas miracle lol). We didn't want to spend more than $25k total, but the Kia Sportage Hybrid is ticking all the boxes. I'm looking at a few 2023 options at ~$27-29k used with low enough mileage. I figure we can get them to come down a bit. Otherwise, the new 2024 ones are ~$30-33k with a 4.75% APR for 48 months deal right now. What do you guys think? Pros and cons?
I want to get a new or slightly used tocoma or 4-runner, but I don't really understand the trim packages, or what a good deal would look like right now. I want to do it smart, and save as much as I can. I'm also not really sure how getting a car loan would work, am planning on putting 15k down.
