I have 10k cash and ~550 credit score . Im working on getting the credit score up but unfortunately I didn’t always make the smartest decisions in my teens - early 20s. I’m in the Kansas City area so hot summers and possibly sub 0 winters and snow. I don’t care what it looks like or the features, I just want the most reliable car possible to get me through the next 3-4 years of school. I also currently drive a 08 Honda accord with 260,000 miles on it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Hi,
I'm looking for a car that is sporty looking - preferably coupe, but it has to be reliable and economic.
Is there any car that combines all three?
Good morning everyone
I have recently got a new job which will include a 66mile round trip 4/5 days a week which will equate to me doing about 15k miles a year in commuting alone
I’m after a family sized (4 door, big enough boot for a pram), reliable, decent mpg (45+) car that would be perfect for the job of handling the commute and the odd weekend trip (already have another car bought outright)
Budget is I could get a loan and buy an older car for around £12k or a lease/PCP for about 400 a month (get a similar price on that of a loan)
Side note is my new employer offer a tusker car scheme with salary sacrifice which I am yet to get the details of if anyone has any opinion on the salary sacrifice options it would be appreciated
I’m gonna do my best to narrow down the options, I passed my drivers ed class and am waiting till I turn 16 for my license and really want a car within the next year, this is what I’m looking for
Reliability is one of the main things I’m looking for I don’t wanna drop 6k on a car and have to pay half of that in major repairs after a year of driving it so something with minimal trips to the mechanic
Price needs to be below 7k because I don’t wanna have to spend all my time hustling and if possible a car that has lower insurance rates
Looks matter a lot for me I want something like a drift looking car (not that I wanna drift) like those Japanese ones that are modded cuz I wanna mod mine in the future I like the look of a 2000 civic coupe modded I think those look really cool google it if u don’t know what I’m talking about but yeah that style I like a lot
Needs to be somewhat safe but it doesn’t need to have like side airbags and motion sensors and all that just not like 80s car safety
Lmk if u got questions thanks.
I have been looking at buying a weekend car and I have 2 young kids. My toddler is a massive car enthusiast and it’s imperative that I can bring him with me. That of course limits my options and I have narrowed it down to the 2 cars I like the most around the $20k mark. What’s the better option? Is there a compelling car that I should go above the $20k mark and start pushing into the $30k or even $40k territory?
Hey people of Reddit i want a car was thinking in between these 2 what you guys think is better for reliability. Both manual zx3 has 170 k and the scion 96k but the zx3 is only 3k and the scion is 10k…
I'm debating between the Acura MDX and Tesla Model Y for my 800-mile weekend commutes from Atlanta to meet family.
For context, I drove a Tesla for 3 years in the past, so I'm familiar with EVs. Also, I don't have immediate family car needs for at least 5 years since my infant is only 1 year old. Key considerations:
• Tesla: $40K out-the-door with 0% APR including a $7K rebate (last year to claim it). • Acura: $45K-$50K (CPO) with 5% APR, adding ~$4.5K in interest. 3. Travel & Convenience: Acura is gas-powered, so no stops needed. Tesla adds ~2 hours for charging but comes with free workplace charging, reducing "fuel" costs long-term. 4. Tech: Tesla has superior driver-assistance tech and optional FSD, while Acura's adaptive cruise and lane assist appear sufficient for my needs.
Fair Recommendation:
• Go with the Acura MDX if i prioritize comfort, convenience, and gas reliability for long trips for 10k more
• Choose the Tesla Model Y if financial savings, EV familiarity, tech, and future-proofing are more important-despite longer charging stops and less comfort. What would you do in my situation?
I'm debating which car to buy: a RAV4 or a Prius AWD.
Both cars are 2021 with AWD and 60k miles. Rav4 is gas version. Price tag is $26k for RAV4 and $24k for Prius.
I really prefer the Prius because it saves money on commuting to work, but I’m wondering if all trailheads will be accessible with the Prius, especially in the winter. I plan to put all-weather tires / snow tires on whichever vehicle I choose. And I will buy chains / snow socks.
I’m also planning to drive on some access roads and forest roads for camping and hiking.
Do I really need a car with more clearance, or should the Prius be enough?
So, I am having some trouble deciding on what kind of car I should get. An oldish 2000s Lincoln Town Car/Grand Marquis/Crown Victoria, a 2000s Buick Sedan, or a 2010 Toyota something. The Panther bodies because I have heard that they are very reliable cheap to fix but not the best on gas. The Toyotas are newer look sleeker, have better gas mileage and have Bluetooth but they are more expensive to fix. And the Buicks are like a hybrid of the two with average gas mileage. I am in a dilemma.
i had a hyundai elantra limited for 30k that got totaled by a bus while parked. looking for my next car. anything new or used in budget with a 360 camera? thanks!
Looking at a 2016 Chevy Sonic LT with 56k miles or a 2020 Hyundai Kona SE with 91k miles? Any recommendations between these two
I’ve only had SUVs/crossovers my entire life. Does the reduced trunk space and practicality affect those aforementioned trips?
I'm in the market for a hybrid and have been reading about which are most reliable and last the longest. I've read some posts here on the topic as well. From what I gather it's Toyota Prius and Corolla tied for number one. Honda is two and Hyundai is three. I'm not looking at the accord and Camry, just the smaller cars. Is that pretty much the consensus? If so, I'm kinda torn between the prius and the Corolla. Any thoughts?
One owner with most things being maintained from the description and has been inspected. What do you think?
I’m 64 and looking to replace my current car …and want it to be the last one . I’m not quite the little old lady who only drives to church and back 😃 but not far from it.
I work from home so don’t drive much on a daily basis. My son and daughter both live about 1 -2 hours away so once a month maybe I do a round trip. I do plan on doing some road tripping when I retire in 3 years, but nothing insane.
I like the idea of AWD, as a sibling has some property on a lake that’s a little rough to get to and I’d like to spend more time there. I’m leaning towards a Subaru . The Crosstrek is too small and the Outback and Forester seem too big. Also, I think they are kind of overpriced.
CRV and RAV 4 are in the mix too.
Any other suggestions or recommendations?
I’m looking for a RWD car ~20k or under, preferably with some practicality, so a miata wouldn’t work. Also something that wouldn’t break the bank on insurance like g37/Zs. Decent reliability is also something I’m looking for. Looking at gen 1 ft86 cars right now.
