I’m interested in 1-on-1 classes and recently found the pricing information here: UMBC RAC Rates and Packages. The rates seem reasonable, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s worked with a personal trainer there. How much did you learn from the sessions, and did you find them helpful (especially for beginners of strength training)?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
hi everyone! so i’m on track to graduate in spring 2026 and i’ve laid out all the classes for my major and minor and everything fits well. however, after planning all that out i’m at 118/120 credits total. does anyone have a recommendation for a fun and very low work load elective course? i have all my upper levels so it can be 100 or 200. looking for something VERY filler that won’t take up a lot of my time
So I go to Howard University and my boyfriend starts at UMBC in January. What’s the best way to commute? Car, train, Uber??

Hi everyone!
I hope you're doing well. I'm coming in here to ask for advice about transferring out of UMBC. I know transferring out of UMBC is pretty common, however, I just wish this school was a little closer to my jobs. And the commute has been hideous lately. I really thought I could push through but I'm second guessing myself. The horrible planning is my fault. But transferring has been in the back of mind. I remember sending in an application to UMD last semester and I have gone back and forth with them to make sure they attach my transcript and they wouldn't do it when they say they would. UMD is pretty convenient for me as I live like 20 mins away while UMBC is 50 mins away. But then I started working and my commute got drastically longer with and without traffic. So do I push through? Or do I try to leave again? I also don't even know if commuting is a valid reason to transfer. I have 2 jobs that are around 20 minutes from UMD and are an hour or more from UMBC. I might honestly cry but let me know what you think.
Kind and gentle responses, please! I'd just like a second opinion. Thank you!
I might’ve secured more grad tickets, but I’m still looking for me. Please dm if you have any that you are willing to give/sell.!
"Please upload an updated resume (PDF version). Be sure to include any STEM-related program participation, projects, faculty/mentor guided research experience, notable internships, poster/oral presentations, and/or publications. Also, your resume should include any extracurricular leadership experiences, community service involvement, and scholarly or other honors/awards. You are not limited to one page."
"Please provide the name and email address of one (1) STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math"
Am I truly doomed?
I only have some non-STEM related extracurriculars. No leadership positions. Only a few too many schools on my transcripts. I did okay academically in my first two years of high school, and a lot better in 11th.
I want to be a doctor. I've not had much freedom to express that through true actions that would provide tangible support to my conviction.
Would I be better off not applying? I have virtually nothing to put on my application.
For the clothing swap that’s coming up on the 15th do you have to bring a bag of clothes to swap or is it like something you can get like one bag of some clothes-
Hey anyone taking general physics 1 this year Could you guys give me any advice. And maybe send me the syllabus.
I am going to have the class with Eric Anderson and what to prepare over winter. Even if it’s practice problems from web assignment that I could use to review or info on how discussions works in that class. All that would be really great to have. Thank you
I'm a male British student looking to exchange in the US and I would love to know some honest insights from UMBC students. Particularly about the things I wouldn't necessarily find from UMBC's website and the things you wish you knew before attending the college, the good and the bad things. I am also curious as to what social life is like at UMBC with the drinking age being 21, I'm not massively bothered on going out but it is nice to once in a while. I'm assuming that because of the laws potentially student clubs/organisations may be the way people socialise/make friends but please correct me if I'm wrong. Honestly any insight into whether you would recommend UMBC or not as a study abroad location would be very helpful, thank you.

Hi everyone! I am a Psych Major who just needs a 3 credit class for next semester during a particular time slot and ECON 121 is one of the available classes. Is it a good/easy class to take and is there anything useful for just the regular person to learn from the class about economics?
can someone enrolled this semester send it to me pls? thanksss
So I'm lookin to kill two birds with one stone and take Art 425 (Writing by and for Artists) to get the core course and writing intensive credits next semester. I do enjoy writing about art which is why I'm also interested, but I'm kind of worried about how intense the course will be compared to my other options. Any advice on what to expect? Mark Durant is the professor and from my experience in Art 215 he was lovely to work with, does anyone know if this also holds up for the higher level course?
Any info appreciated!
I got 49.9/100 on exam 1 and 68.2/100 on exam 2, should I just try harder next exam or am I cooked ;(
