Finding Work in London (Desperate)

I have emailed every single Post-Production house in London:

  • Firstly asking for work
  • Then for any internships
  • When all my self respect was gone I was just asking for any free job experience

I search LinkedIn and Indeed every single day and apply to anything Post-Production related.

4 months of this and absolutely no luck. Starting to feel really desperate. I feel like my CV and Showreel showcase my skills well even though most of my experience comes from Social Media Management and I am very happy to do any entry level roles but all I get are ''Unfortunately Emails''.

If you could give literally any advice on what else can I do to get in the industry that would be greatly appreciated!

Going freelance

Hi everyone, hope this don't break any rules. I've recently graduated from university with a film production degree. I've edited a few music videos and short films and I'm a certified PremierePro user.

How should I start as a freelance editor?

I don't have any kit to make my own content, I'm hoping to establish myself as an editor before investing in kit and moving more Into the videography side of the industry.

Have you hear any production company (small or big) sponsor visa to a video editor?

Hello, I'm a full time freelance video editor. I'm looking forward to move in Uk through my editing skills. Let me tell you my skills is in intermediate level. Intermediate mean right now i don't know every single core of editing stuff like the senior editor in big production company know. I apply in many company most of them don't respond. Recently i got response from the Jungle creation. They said they don't sponsor visa. I have a question from the editor. Have you ever heared about that the company sponsor visa to a video editor?

London based video editors?

Just trying to find out if there's anyone here that uses FCP and might be up for some moonlighting?

Basically got corporate stuff coming in and I just need a competent, friendly, responsive person that I can rely on.

London based ideally because it would be good to meet an have over footage if the need arise.

Let me see your work and let me know your rate.

Coffee break reading material

This has been my morning coffee break browsing for this week. Some are obvious but there are some which I didn't know and have now adopted in my work.

Hello, World!

Hi r/UKEDITORS,

I applied to take on mod duties and revive this sub as it would be great to have a UK focused sub for Editors, Assistants and post production in general.

If anyone has any suggestions of things they would like to see, rules for posting or anything else then I'm all ears. I will start updating the sidebar and adding some other bits and pieces over the next week or so.
