What the title says. Pool open?
I was wondering if one can pay part or full tuition with a credit card. I'm Trying to get points on the CC while my child attending. I have money in 529 which I'm using but it is nice to get perks on CC. I don't see anything on the bursar website. Any info?
I saw someone on the NW Reddit post about free things we get. Can we make a list here. I know we get NYT and JSTOR but what else?
Let’s hear any murmurings regarding who’s behind the anonymous donation
Hi, I'm new to Chicago and University of Chicago, and looking for someone Indian to join me in going to a Bollywood themed party tonight (11/29). Preferably a graduate student but undergraduate is ok too.
Does anyone know how MBB recruits on campus? I’m hoping to start building a network but not sure where to start.
Hi, I’m a 4th-yr at the university. I was going to go home for Christmas and booked tickets but I got an internship and won’t be able to fly home anymore.
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to buy my transferable Southwest credit off of me so that I can put it towards rent/groceries/cat food. The total amount is $340 worth of flight credit and the price can be negotiable to make your time worth it. Thanks!
As a junior in highschool looking at different colleges, a lot of my cousins that are in college say that life at Uchicago is really depressing. I don't think I would apply to it because even if by some miracle I get accepted, it's too expensive of a school for me, but I'm still curious! TBH I think that people exaggerate it, but I thought I would ask people that have better knowledge/experience with it!
Would anyone be willing to perhaps spare some old notes or offer some advice? I can't quite find any resources that can help me digest some of the topics and yes, I have been attending office hours. Still, I've been struggling a bit with understanding Spivak, and I kind of feel like I'm falling behind quite a bit.
The class in general has me really interested in math but some of it just seems a little fast for my pace. Dare I say, it's even become fun to an extent. Would really appreciate some support on this.
I'm a fourth-year and was wondering if there are any master programs at other schools that don't need a letter of rec
I love buying cheap secondhand furniture during move-out season and hate moving it myself. If I made an app for Hyde Park that let students get furniture delivered to their home, would anyone use it? Like a hybrid between FB Market and Doordash. Thoughts?
What's the most cost-effective dental clinic in Hyde Park to go to without a dental insurance? I didn't buy dental insurance this quarter bc I know my teeth is great, and I just wanted to do a dental cleaning this winter
Any gay person who likes classical Indian languages 😭 I am obsessed with them btw. If there’s anyone who shares this interest, maybe we go on a date 😶
As a fourth year, almost done with my CS major, I need an elective to fill in my schedule. I am open to hearing all suggestions but would ideally enjoy something that is still interesting/fun while being easier because my other courses will still be demanding and I’m trying to lessen my load as a fourth year. Please share any suggestions you have, thanks!
what on-campus jobs will allow me to apply for a social security number as an international undergrad student on an F1 visa? 🥲
I got a C- and it brought my GPA down by around .05. I am disputing the grade but the professor hasn't responded. My academic advisor is trying to contact the Dean of Students, but there haven't been updates in several months.
Has anyone had success disputing grades? How could I go about this?
I am disputing the grade because as far as I could tell all the other students received A's with the exception of me getting a C-. Since there was no graded work I don't know why I received the C-, it just came as a surprise at the end of the quarter
I am interested in meeting with a professional (be it a psychologist, doctor, etc.), to discuss some issues relating to executive functioning/ADD I have been having. It’s not urgent, more in the preventive medicine realm. Where can I do this (if possible) through UChicago?
Hey, where are Bio 10130 classes usually held? Trying to see if a ten minute gap is enough from bio to north.
preferably in hyde park.. or even better if you have any friend who does gel x or acrylic nails services
Hey, I’m transfem and a first year and I want to like start actually transitioning and presenting differently, but I’m really scared to and very overwhelmed at the thought of doing so. Just wanted to ask to see if anyone has advice or good pointers to do so? Thank you!
does uchicago give students access to any GOOD msuic composition sites/apps?
For context, I am a sophomore transfer student interested in pursuing quant with SWE or data science as a back up. I want to take financial accounting this next quarter but I looked at the requirements to graduate with a double major and it looks like I already have to take more classes than my schedule can fit. I might even have to take 5 classes senior year. Can certain electives count towards both majors? or can some requirements of cs count towards caam major? any other advice would be helpful too! thanks!
Hey. I was wondering what’s the best bio to take. I would either take BIOS 10130 (Principles), or BIOS 10140 (IBL), or one of the two quarter sequences. I heard IBL is no tests or assignments, but the cutoff scores for an A are v high like a 94. Also wondering if the labs in IBL bio are individual or group. Any input would be appreciated! (Also, is bio worth taking first year vs other alternatives??)
Has anyone tried this Phoenix thing in any dining commons like Baker or Woodlawn? Or do I have to stick to Maroon Dollars for meals (e.g., breakfast or dinner) in them?
Advice on which to take? I know that PHSC 124 has a new prof who seems to have good reviews. I’ve taken PHSC 125 (Chem of Artists’ Materials) already and have heard that PHSC 122 (Chem of Food and Cooking) is O-chem in disguise and crazy hard.
What are the best science classes for non stem students to take? Looking for a class and prof that are interesting yet attainable for a humanities student.
I'm planning to take Chen's CMSC25400 machine learning next quarter. How is the class?
