Welp, I planned on going to the Tyler area vampire ball but apparently I missed it this year :') (who hosts a Halloween party on Oct 2nd?!?)
Anyone know about fun parties going on later this month/next month? Pretty much anything in Tyler, Longview, or Dallas will work, but preferably the former.
Hey everyone, are there any local entrepreneurs in this group? I have an assignment that requires me to ask an entrepreneur some questions and would greatly appreciate it if anyone would be willing! Thanks and have a great Friday!
Hello! I tried looking at the site and social media for the airfest this weekend but I just can't find much detail on what there is to do beyond who's flying in the show. Doors open at 10am and the show isn't until 3pm so I figure there has to be things to do in that time, but what are they?
This was at Brookshire's on Rice and Broadway.

I'm looking for a part time job in the Tyler area to pay for college, I've applied to all the big chains (Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Brookshire's etc) but haven't got any responses in weeks. I'm pretty much open to anything except being a server. Does anyone know of any businesses hurting for staff?

Tyler Tx is fucking evil.
I'm looking for anyone who might have information on the family of missing person Jimmy Scott. Link here: https://www.dps.texas.gov/apps/mpch/MissingPerson/mpDetails/M11-21-200110-02-43AM
I am pretty certain the blood on the scene will match a certain person's but I want to be certain about a few things before I report it. This person should still have birdshot in him as well.
Also if anyone knows someone who was a trauma ICU nurse at etmc between 2002-2005. That might remember a gun shot wound on a kid from Whitehouse Texas. It shouldn't break HIPPA since it's me. I can provide details to prove my identity.
If I can't post this here or something is wrong please let me know and I'll post appropriately. Hoping someone can help me make this person face justice finally.
I work 5 12's so sorry if I don't respond immediately. Thank you everyone.
Hello everyone. My family just switched over to att for cell service. We went into Sam's and a couple of other places and we couldn't get a signal. Has anybody else had this probably or is just our phones maybe. I know we had cell and Internet with Metro because we could use the scan and go app
I recently got an internship offer for the summer of 2025, and I’m curious to know if there’s any appeal to Tyler for a college kid. I don’t believe I’ll be with other interns (except for maybe 1). Is it a somewhat enjoyable town? Unfortunately it may be my only internship option depending on how other interviews go but I’d like to hear y’all’s thoughts.
Shali’s is currently parked at HTeaO on 5th. I know we have some Indian food fans always looking for a place, if you’ve got some time, give them a try. The line is pretty long right now, be warned.
I can’t vouch for them, but I’m definitely giving this place a try ASAP. If anyone does try them, please share the experience!
Can anyone tell me why Chinese Dim Sum closed? It was so good. Ps, to the guy that preaches between walmart and target no one listens! I get freedom of speech and all that but its EVERY WEEK!!
Looking for something that’ll fill the stomach and good drinks
My bf and I recently moved to Tyler and we've been running around checking out awesome food places. When looking around online, however, I noticed that there don't seem to be any Korean food places?? Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Hawaiian, but no Korean?? I thought I read about a new Korean BBQ place opening this year where a Chili's used to be but apparently that fell through?
Are we out of luck? Am I literally going to have to drive to Dallas to find delicious Bulgogi? :')
I’m sick of Vivint and looking to switch. Looking at ETA and they seem pretty good. I know they’ve been great as a straight up alarm company in the past since my parents had them when I was a kid, but how’s their smart home gear? Does it all stack up?
Green Room looks to have nothing going on. Is the Bunker still even a thing?
I don't wanna go all the way to Dallas. Is there anything in the Tyler or Longview area?
Looking for a recommendation where I can buy Nandina plants - about time to plant and wondering if anyone has a good nursery recommendation.
I need to make $2k asap I can do anything plz help me
What are the major gangs in Tyler? Bloods, crips, cartel, ...?
Have never tried em before.
Wanted to open a dialogue so that I could get other people’s experiences and hopefully some folks in official capacity to chime in.
My family went to the Fair today for 5 hours starting at noon.
I am 43 years old and a 5th generation smith county resident.
I recall the abundance of officers and stands that were at the fair, in addition to the elevated watch stands.
I’m guessing that when it gets dark and the real crowds come in, that it would be a different sort of atmosphere.
BONUS: What did first time Fair Goers think of the new venue?
IMO, it just wasn’t the same.
One aspect was handicap access.. Although my group didn’t need this, the old venue in town was perfect and would accommodate such. The new venue not only was harder on vehicles in the free(hey at least there is free parking) but the experience for a handicap person would be very hard compared to the old venue.
Anyone know any steep hills? I'm wanting to do some sprints. It can be grass or paved. Preferably a steep hill thats not too gradual.
Wow. I’m still digesting everything in the book, but I did enjoy it. A sort of morbid fascination. It all happened almost a decade before I was born so it I won’t allow myself to be completely swayed by the author.
So I guess what I’m asking are there any folks here that have first hand experience that can share anything about it?
I believe that Chief Hardy, city manager Wagoner, and DA Brush were dirty. Dirty dirty dirty covered in 💩 dirty and they got away with it. I also believe the undercover cops should have been sent to prison for life. They’re really the worst of the worst, especially Creig Matthews.
My other questions/suspicions.
The recording of Judge Calhoun, does anyone suspect that the information deleted had to do with the mysterious donor?
Was it actually Tim McQuire who shot Creig then carried the shotgun around like a dumb dumb 😂.
I wish there was more material on the aftermath, like where the victims are that sort of thing but I totally get that they may want privacy and totally respect that.
I’m getting married in January and am looking for a place to spend to first night but most the hotels I see are so corporate and bland and the airbnbs to homey/family friendly. If anyone knows of an actually romantic place or hotels that offer any kind of honeymoon suite/special accommodations please lmk thank you
I have a non-working portable A/C and need to dispose of it.
Does anyone know if Tyler Waste will accept it or are there alternatives.
Background: I bought a HiSense 10k BTU portable A/C in May of 2023. It crapped out on me this May. HiSense refunded me the money but now I have a kaput A/C that’s very heavy. They made me cut the power cord, so there’s that. I believe a capacitor failed on me and that’s why it stopped cooling. So if any handy person wants it for free I’m willing to do that as an alternative.
Thanks!
Any recommendations for an elevator service company here locally in Tyler? I have had multiple bad experiences with TKE.
Just got off my shift on the square, went to my car in the free parking at the Faire Plaza on Elm. Watched maybe 3-4 trucks race up to the top and never come back down. As I drove out, two more joined and same thing, stayed up top. Was there an event or something happening after midnight that I missed?
I have seen an accident everyday to and from work this week. Tyler traffic sucks.
