Submission Guidelines

  • Before posting, look up the bias of your news source at https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/

  • All submitters should familiarize themselves with this media bias chart.

  • Remove loaded and/or sensationalized words from titles before submitting (e.g. "Meltdown", "Destroys", "Eviscerates", "Miracle", etc...). Read the article before posting to review it for biased/loaded or subjective language and weasel-words. If the article is poorly written, find a better source.

  • Pay-walled sites are strongly discouraged, for this reason we have to recommend avoiding posting articles from NYT, WSJ, and The Washington Post, despite being high-quality sources. Try and find the same story on one of the preferred news sites. Only post from a non-free site if it is an important, newsworthy item and the article is an exclusive.

  • If you would like to post a story from a known biased media site, you must flair your post. The community and moderation team will decide if the article is not appropriate for the sub.

Commenting

Topics should be discussed with honest logic, informed skepticism and critical analysis. Discussion of any possible media bias is encouraged. Commenters are also encouraged to find higher-quality and/or less-biased articles covering the same story and share the links in the comments section.

Meta Discussions

Meta-posts and subreddit discussions are allowed, but should be accompanied by the appropriate link flair.
