Well, I hope this guy was ticketed. A stern lecture is satisfying, but this absolute belligerence in parking etiquette deserves a fine.
Thank you to the guy in the Ford F150 at 8am Feb 2 that pulled up beside me near innisfil beach road and let me know my tail gate came open. I was able to get off at the exit and saved everything that was in the back of the truck. Appreciate the save!
are they always on bright?? What the hell going on?
Edit: as per a comment, it is set bright to see signs clearly on the road. What a shitty engineering.
I was coming back from st Catharines on the 401 and I was going 130, a guy in a Lincoln behind me kept high beaming me and riding me so I go faster, than he pulls up beside me and I give him the finger so he brake checks me. Lol, I'm going to install a train or transport truck horn on my car and the brightest lights i can find. Everyone these days have ridiculous bright lights and drive reckless from Oshawa to Niagara on the lake! With toronto and Brampton being the worst
if there is another car in the acceleration lane ahead and it is not going fast enough to merge into the highway what to do? I won't be able to accelerate in time as the acceleration lane will run out.
Favourite Tesla Cammer is back!!!
Let’s answer the questions:
Jokes aside now, if you did have any of the 3 questions you need to see a professional 😂
Called police to report. Followed for 25 minutes before losing them at a red light. Police never responded.
Is it the points? Location? The fact that is has a car wash included? Gas quality ( only saying this because I have friend who claims shell is one of the promo brands) not a car guy myself so I wouldn’t be able to know?
And if you know a gas station that you suggest me go to let know and why all suggestions are welcome
With talk of tariffs...how will they affect gas prices here in Toronto and across the country?
Get this.
I'm going to an intersection for an unprotected left turn. Before I arrive at the intersection, another car is waiting at a side street to turn into my lane. I thought I would be nice and stopped to let them get in. The other car doesn't move. I highbeam, and the other car turns, slowly.
We arrive at the intersection. The car I let go in front of me is also doing a left turn. The guy or gal let go several clear-cut chances to make a left turn, I wait for a good 3 minutes. Finally there is a huuuuge gap and they start turning left. I check left, then right, make sure there is a good 5-6 second gap on both sides then follow the car in front of me.
Then, right before we finish the turn, the car in front of me stops for some reason. I think they panicked because of the car coming from right side, but again, there is a good 5 second gap. He/she is already in the proper lane, while I am blocking the traffic coming from left. The cars coming from left almost hit me, and are honking at me. I honk at the car in front of me. They slowly get moving.
I never wanted to get out of the car and beat someone up this badly.
Simple. If you’re changing lanes: use your signal. If you’re making a turn: use your signal. Is that too much to ask?
Laid on the horn not out of anger but as a deterrent for the other driver to not complete their lane change, and let it ring in their ear as a future reminder that checking your side mirrors/blind spot isn't an optional task.
More context: was already accelerating from the light to meet the speed limit, and began to lightly touch the brake pedal when I had a suspicion that the other car would swing into my lane.
Title. Car has some rust coming in, not fond of Krown drilling holes into my car, corrosion free seems to be a better option (and lasts longer). Any mechanic shops you recommend? Preferably east/scarborough.
There needs to be a law, that if you've had your license for less than 7 years, you're not permitted to drive when there is over 1cm of snow on the road. We also need to make this law applicable to those over 70 😈
was intending to move over after clearing the white SUV, indicator on, til I caught headlights from these two morons whizzing across my rear view mirror (curved road) at such speed I almost couldn't tell which lanes they were approaching from so I put off changing lanes. glad I did.
left most lane was totally empty btw
on the inside of a curve on a one lane road, in front of a busy (public!) parking garage entrance, 25m from a traffic light onto a main road
I know this is not a typical post for r/torontodriving, but I just wanted to share a moment of kindness I experienced.
So I turned off my headlights earlier because my wife and kids were waiting in the car, then completely forgot to turn them back on while driving in Scarborough (Birchmount/sheppard). 🤦🏻
At a red light, a kind middle age man & his wife (who didn't seem to want to get involved lol) pulled up beside me, honked at me, rolled down his window, and told me my “taillights was off.” I nodded, said “thank you,” and kept driving—thinking he meant my brake lights weren’t working. I was a bit confused because my car is less than a year old, so I figured everything should be fine. It wasn’t until much later that I realized—oh crap—my lights were actually off the whole time and I didn't realize because I usually leave it in Auto headlight mode. 🥹🥹
Big thanks to that uncle for looking out! Appreciate the kindness and awareness (even though it's risky)—small gestures like this make a huge difference. If you ever see this, just know you saved me from driving around like a fool in the dark and restored my faith in humanity. 😂🙏
Tonight before 8pm. Multiple vehicle collision on403 Westbound. All minor damages, no airbags, no debris, no structural. At least 2 cars decided to stay right there in the live lanes and a 3rd stopped on the shoulder all lights off. The BMW didn't even have his blinkers on until I got behind.
Traffic was in standstill for a good 20 min behind them.
I'm having trouble finding info on this scenario online. Imagine this. You're driving on the highway doing 100km, 2 second following distance behind the car in front of you. Suddenly the car in front of you swerves to change lanes and 2 seconds later you smash into the back of a stopped car. (the car is stopped because traffic in that lane is backed up) Who is at fault and how does this work? What if the driver in front of you used their signal? What if they tapped their brake? What if they changed lanes 5 seconds before passing the stopped car? How can you prevent this without leaving a following distance long enough for your car to come to a complete stop? If you crash and have dashcam showing you weren't speeding and following at a safe distance would you be at fault?
edit: I don't think that you should be at fault in this specific scenario because the driver in front of you should have been slowing down as they approached the stopped cars and they say came an inch away from smashing the stopped car as they changed lanes. This gets muddier though the sooner they switched lanes before the stopped car. I do try to drive staggered to the left so I can see beyond the car in front of me but this does not work with right hand bend in the road and if everyone drove staggered they'd eventually be in another lane.
edit 2: do any of you people saying I'm following too closely actually leave the entire stopping distance required between you and the car in front of you? As in if the car you were following on the highway braked and was somehow able to come to a complete stop instantly (yes the G forces and physics I know okay let's say 2 seconds) you would be able to stop in time?
edit 3: probably should have mentioned this didn't actually happen to me and doesn't seem to a common accident. I was actually wondering because I changed lanes to avoid a car turning and was worried about the people behind me reacting in time. Do y'all not worry about this in the back of your mind though?
Our government focusing on removing bike lanes when shit like drivers driving against opposing traffic on the highway is wild.

Or vote in the next election carefully to make sure the next Ontario leader focuses on non-trivial issues first.
