If you love Bloodborne, and love running Root Chalice Dungeons, the Tomb Prospectors Covenant will gladly take you in!
This community gives shelter to dungeon crawlers—man, beast, and ascended celestial alike—both here on Reddit, and also on PSN, in a group called "Bloodborne: The Tomb Prospectors," by invite only.
This sub is not technically a gem farming community. If you find a great dungeon for specific gem-farming, you are, of course, free to share it. Please do not share illegitimate dungeons whose purpose are purely for hacked gems.
All users are free to subscribe to the subreddit.
To join the PSN group, simply message the mods on the sub, or contact Itsakillerpandaa or guiness08 on PSN for an invite.
While we discuss plenty here, the PSN group is our original home (as created by group founder /u/MorosNyx), and is quite lively with videos, glyphs, and screen caps often not otherwise found here—although crossposting and sharing between the two is heavily encouraged. Joining the PSN group is not necessary; however, it will result in missing out on a substantial amount of content.
Acts of goodness are not always wise. And acts of evil are not always foolish, but regardless, we shall always strive to be good. We don't have many rules here—we haven't needed to! True hunters cleanse these foul streets, not further defile them, and if you've found our niche sub here (likely from /r/bloodborne or a couple of articles elsewhere that we've been honored to have been featured in), then we generally feel it's fair to assume most of you are familiar with the typical prospector's code of conduct. Most of the rules of /r/bloodborne (as far as common courtesy, civility, and general support for each other) can be presumed to apply here, with a few exceptions:
You do not need to use /r/huntersbell (though it can be a helpful resource) to solicit co-op or PvP in this sub, provided your request is for help or sparring within a root dungeon. User-created, randomized glyphs that either you want help with, want to offer help with, or want to fight people in are welcome to this sub of their own accord, and there are often hunters here happy to oblige as either friends or foes. Help with base game or DLC should be deferred to /r/huntersbell or /r/bloodborne.
There is, unfortunately, no trading system in Bloodborne. You must farm your own weapons, items, and upgrade materials. Please do not make posts asking for these—you will find yourself alone in this most horrible dream.
This game is now nearly three years old. Spoilers do not need to be marked as such. We assume our members have completed the base game and DLC if they are exploring this niche sub. Plot and lore are rarely discussed here (though it is allowed). Nevertheless, if you have not finished the game and are spoiler averse, you may want to consider checking back when you have done so, as our members may discuss major plot events, areas, and boss names/locations without warning or marking.
Unlike on /r/bloodborne, discussion or posting of unnaturally generated glyphs such as Sinister dungeons with all rites (commonly referred to as "SFRC" dungeons) IS ALLOWED. Discussion of save-editing tools and external exploits currently is also allowed, to the extent that it is relevant to the mission of /r/tombprospectors. Any discussion of ways to hack gems or character stats, or any promotion, explanation, or advocation of cheating or griefing other players in either co-op or PvP is not allowed, and your post will be removed with or without explanation. Repeated behavior such as this will result in a ban. That being said, names of applications are currently acceptable, and will not be interfered with, but we would prefer you not provide specific instructions as to how to save edit, since the potential for abuse or non-community members stumbling across it through a search are high. The mods do not officially endorse and are not paid or compensated in any way by the creators of these products. Discovery of chalice-related uses for this tool are relatively new, and this rule is currently in a test period, and may continue to evolve. It is subject to change at any time should we feel the need to reevaluate it. We are open to feedback and praise or criticism, and we trust the integrity of our members not to abuse this privilege. Please do not ruin it for everyone else. Any member of /r/tombprospectors caught cheating or griefing other players in either co-op or PvP are subject to an immediate ban. Please treat these tools responsibly.
That being said, /r/bloodborne does not allow discussion or instruction of external tools of any kind. While you may freely do so here, please do not share or crosspost anything that violates their rules to that sub. If you are unsure of what this constitutes, please refer to the rules that are easily visible and readily available on their sidebar. When in doubt, err on the side of doubt or message the mods. If we begin receiving complaints from their mod staff about any of our members doing this, it may result in a permanent ban. If you have relevant information you think is important to share with the main sub but would prefer to play it safe, you are perfectly free to message the mods here, and we can contact their staff to consult on whether your content is acceptable there. The mods will take any and all responsibility for what we ourselves choose to post and share with the community, and usernames of submitters will be kept private unless permission to post it there is granted.
Many notebook entries have been submitted since the new prospectors of Yharnam have begun their duty. Our dungeon list and bestiary have rapidly expanded, and the depths of the source of the Old Blood become closer and clearer every day. The following is a list of specific targets we seek that have not yet been discovered. This list is not exhaustive and a hunter with a noteworthy find is encouraged to share it, whether or not it appears on this list. This is only a guideline for what to look for, nothing more.
Anything in lower-than depth 5 dungeons (these require external tools to create, but glyphs are available). There has been a heavy bias towards F/R/C dungeons (particularly Ihyll), so these lower dungeons are our community's newest objective! For example, can wandering Shadow's of Yharnam or wandering bosses spawn there?
Wandering Giant with Ball and Chain (any)
Wandering Shadow of Yharnam with Candle and Sword (any)
Labyrinth spirits in Loran
Labyrinth moles/ hole diggers in F/R/C Isz or Ihyll (currently sighted only in Lower Loran)
Giant Nightmare Apostle (large spider from Nightmare of Mensis) anywhere outside of depth 5 Sinister dungeons
Any wandering bosses in Sinister or FRC Isz—none have been found so far!
Any enemy normally exclusive to one chalice found outside of its natural habitat. For example, a wandering Abhorrent Beast in Sinister Ihyll (rather than Lower Loran, its usual home) was found a few months back by /u/novathelonehunter [+2].
Multiple rare enemies in one area (e.g. Pilgrims, labyrinth spirits, gardens of eyes, wandering bosses)
Items found in unusual locations (e.g. on a hanging corpse, in a chest instead of on the ground, on the ground instead of in a chest, etc). For example, five sage's hair were once found simply lying on the ground (would normally be in a chest or dropped by a labyrinth sage enemy), or an Old Great One's Coldblood in a chest.
Wandering Bloodlickers spawned without the use of visceral attacks (which is normal). This variant tends to move around the area rather than statically inhabiting one room.
Blood-Letting Beast as Layer 3 Boss in Lower Loran (headed or headless).
Any glitches or bizarre chalice configurations that would seem to be antithetical to the game.
Any unusual layouts or other environmental features. For example, rope bridges from different layers lined up above each other that allow the player to jump or fall from one layer to the next while bypassing bosses or entire areas.
Wandering greater viper pits (large venom-shooting snake clusters) outside of Lower Loran
Wandering bosses. New ones are exciting, but these are rare enough that even if they've been found before, share the glyph! Currently unfound: Celestial Emissary, Loran Darkbeast, Rom the Vacuous Spider
"Patches" the spider as a chalice merchant
List of "impossible" finds (supposedly obtainable per the official guide, but as of yet undiscovered):*
Winter Lanterns
"Boss Rush"
Revered Great One's Coldblood
Tier 3 "Guidance" Rune
Instances of sinister bell (used by either players or bell maidens) summoning NPC enemies instead of players
Yharnam enemies in the chalice dungeons (essentially, any human or partially human enemy or boss, like the villagers in the early areas, etc).
Please be respectful of your fellow hunters.
We rarely have need to remove posts. The rare occasions when this has been necessary include:
Bot spam
Please take care to edit out PSN names of other players in videos if they are unwilling participants.

Found a lost saw cleaver on level one, a formless Oden rune and an uncanny kirkhammer on level two, also the very first area had multiple enemies and hunter npcs at half health
Hoping for some advice! I don’t fully understand the chalice system and what gems I should be prioritizing/where to even find the better higher tier ones.
If it helps, I’m running 50’s across the board stat wise, on ng+, and using the holy moonlight sword and trying to optimize raw damage potential on such a fun weapon/my gun.
Thank you so much for any advice or time.
I am currently using 4a29jxce from the glyph spreadsheet, killing Undead Giant on layer 1.
I am looking for a 28.7% Blunt Gem with Add phys and stamina cost. But there are SO many other effects in the pool of this glyph. Rally, bolt, fire, add poison, etc.
It's making farming really difficult. Is there a better glyph to farm specifically for the effects I'm looking for?
Im at unseen village, getting killed left and right. Level 62, weapons +6.
Seems like I am wasting my time.
I did the CUM dungeon but I only get 17K runes...
So I had a weaker HMS that 2 shots this brainsucker. But after using different gems that ups my arcane and lowers my regular physical damage, it got weaker and weaker to the point I 4 shot him. I was using weaker arcane gems too and using the better ones lower my damage. Anyone know why or am I just dumb.
Also didn't change my runes im using clawmark for better r2 damage.
I love the fights in blood borne and know the chalices have the best fights in them. I should have access to every chalice so your most difficult glyphs fellow hunters. Please and thank you.
Pthumeru? Isz? Loran?
i'm at 40 vig, doing a hintertomb chalice and these basic enemies are just deleting my entire healthbar in like one hit, i know the defiled and other ones reduce your health but should the normal ones be this hard hitting? like some rotten corpse pokes me with a spear and my hunter just keels over dead
I’m just wondering which split damage weapons are better off with just physical gems. I’m max level so I’m looking for best damage in PVE. Out of these weapons which ones need split damage gems
Burial blade Blade of mercy HMS Boom hammer Tonitrus Logarius wheel Amygdalan arm
What the title says. I've got a BL60 build with 25 strength and 13 skill. I'm mostly done with farming tempering gems (from red aura mobs) and I'm wandering if it's worth going through all the effort of killing the Headless Bloodletting Beast, or will I see an increase that's so small I'll wander why I bothered, or if they'd actually be weaker. If anyone knows, please let me know.
I already have the best blood gel combinations for a majority of the pure physical weapons. Now I only need gems for the:
Uncanny burial blade Blades of mercy Holy moonlight sword Uncanny boom hammer Uncanny tonitrus Logarius uncanny wheel Amygdalan arm And kos parasite
Any suggestions on the absolute best gems for all of these (I’m min maxing) I will also trade for the blood gems or do favors. (I’m getting a bit desperate to not do more farming) . Any help is appreciated
Rotted/Cursed Isz Chalice, glyph: u7q8ctik
Layer 1:
Layer 2:
Layer 3:
Every layer has 1-3 patrolling Labyrinth Ritekeepers that drop cursed Pulsing gems, if you want some HP regen on your offhand firearm on a non-BT build.
Seems like a neat enough place to get the tier 3 Deep Sea and Great Deep Sea runes.
The glyph is: yayaf8xq Conducter us me, Piico-BaYamon It's located in layer three in bonus area. I belive the chalice is pthumeru root.
After you get a chalice dungeon saved, do you still need online to access it? I don't wanna have to pay so much for this lol
My character has 70 strength and 15 arcane. I want to use the boomhammer while getting the most oit of the L1 buff. So i’m wondering if I go all nourishing +15 fore atk or 1 heavy abyssal 1 adept and 1 fire atk on the lost version of the weapon.
Do blood gems take effect while we're summoned to help with a boss? I wanna know before I go thru the grind that is gem farming from scratch again.
I'd like to make a low level character to help people with early bosses like Cleric Beast, Gascoigne, BSB, Paarl, and Vicar Amelia.
Hello fellow 'prospectors, I was wondering if anyone has a spreadsheet that tells you which chalice unlocks another chalice. Basically just the beginning chalices and when you beat them, it shows you what you get to unlock. PM me if this sounds confusing, Thanks!
Just wondering, what's the chance of finding one when a player randomly creates a depth 1 chalice?
I know that the earliest story one is at depth 3, but I just wonder if recommending offline player to try finding it in depth 1 would be a good suggestion or not
I am in possession of a blood ATK up 31.5% radial, but it's hp depletes. My character went mad as a result and now rampages in the nightmare frontier
Hello fellow 'prospectors, I would like to know how I can edit dungeons and get better gems instead of chalice diving for them. Also what are the requirements?
Glyph dqu2amaf
My first attempt and I got pretty lucky with the drop. Now if I want to repeat for more gems do I have to progress to layer 3 again or can I use the same altar?
I’m guessing the answer is that I have to remake the dungeon and get to layer 3 again since the boss is now dead on the donor glyph. I just wanted to make sure so I’m not wasting time.
Side note: not only did I get lucky with the abyssal BT gem but I also had a blood rock drop as well. My luck is probably used up for a while.
I really enjoy the dungeons, but im not brill at bloodborne. I think im too high of a level to get help (around 110) when I ring the bell. Should I restart the game?
Im looking at starting the level 5s next
