I am not a DJ. I am a vinyl lover and collector. This means I don't have to follow current trends, which is why I go crate digging at random second hand places from time to time, and just buy loads of classics, mostly from the 90s, as well as obscure stuff, or singles where I know (and like) the label, but don't know the exact track. For this very reason, I sometimes go to second hand places that specialise on Pop, Rock, Jazz, and the likes, looking for the real gems. Records, that were part of someone's mixed collection, and that simply don't fit to that store's customer base, because... well, they don't listen to that "boom boom disco music", which is why those stores sell those records for very little money.
Today, I was at one of those places, where the owner offers a pretty random mix of collections, some from ex-djs, some from classic collectors, etc., most of them containing thousands, or even tens of thousands of records.
Digging my way through one of the "I dont put a price sticker on them because fuck it, the average customer is not interested and it is just to much work"-bins, I came across some Tyree originals, some Baby Ford, some random stuff I never heard of before, some stuff I never wanted to hear of ever again, and then Rob Hood's "Minimal Nation", in what seemed to be near mint condition.
Woohoo, classic. I knew that I already had a copy at home, but that one was originally owned by a DJ, who was touring heavily during the 90s. Thus, said copy has its fair amount of smaller scratches, or at least that's what I remembered. So... having another flawless copy for my collection sounded like a good idea. Especially when you already know it is gonna cost you like 3 or 4 bucks. Worst case scenario was the store owner going "hm, that one is somewhat popular, so... let's say 8 bucks", which would still be a steal.
Not sure how much I paid for it in the end, because I took like 25 records, and a couple of them were the "expensive" ones, which today was 5 EUR each, so it was either 3 or 5 EUR. For a near mint copy of a timeless classic.
At home, when adding the new records to my discogs collection, I noticed the additional inner ring on that copy of Minimal Nation. And then I noticed the different groove layout on side A/B compared to C/D, or to A/B of my other copy respectively. So I was already a bit excited when listening to the first disc of the newly purchased one and, yup... affirmative. I just bought one of the 200 fucking mispresses that have unreleased Jeff Mills tracks on side A/B lol
tl;dr:
Paid 5 bucks for a near mint copy of Robert Hood's "Minimal Nation", that I was hesitant to buy at first because I already own a copy, but decided to buy it because the one I own is VG+ at best. The copy I bought later turned out to be the rare mispress, that is currently offered for 250 on discogs.
Looking for a solid pair of headphones for techno and bass-y music generally. I have these: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-WH-CH510-Wireless-On-Ear-Headphones-with-Mic-Black/414175751
And they're not cutting it. When I listen to the same set in my car with my stock system after I've listened to it through my headphones, I find myself enjoying it much more and sometimes liking a set that I didn't like before. I'm very, very frugal (you have to be nowadays) but would be willing to splurge up to $300 on a new pair. I prefer below $200. This is purely for recreation. Let me know your recommendations!
Hey all,
I come from the hardstyle/hardcore scene but most of the raves i go to are Harder Techno raves, my city is being bombed with those raves, there's barely no Techno anymore, it's always hard fast bpm techno which i actually enjoy.
After reading some posts about Hard Techno in this subreddit, i think this music is what you guys call Tiktok Techno, i like the verknipt vibe and events on youtube but the thing is, i'm a Rawstyle guy, i love that this Hard Techno is using rawstyle and gabber kicks, early hardstyle vibes but i don't like the excessive fake drops, the annoying buildups that are way too long for the drop..
I also love industrial techno but i'm having trouble finding songs and playlists that have some of my preferences. Can someone point me in a good direction or drop me some playlists that fit what i said? I don't want schranz btw, i already have one about that.
Artists that i enjoy: SNTS, 6EJOU, Alignment, 9x9, Hades, Raxeller, Japau
TLDR: Recommend me 150+BPM hard techno, love hard kicks, hard drops. Playlists please :)

I don't follow social media, so I am not entirely sure whether there was a prolonged, deep build-up announcing this new album, but to me, this came as a total surprise release on a weekend's morning!
And a very welcome surprise indeed. Horrorist "returns" to his true power again and gives us a whole album of dark and twisted electronic albums.
The theme of the album seems to be "minimal wave" here. And let me tell you that The Horrorist does this better than any other act that tries to jump in the very "minimal wave" hype that's going on for a few years (decades?) now - because he covers the lofi, minimalist, improvised aspects of it - while the other neo-wave bands usually sound extremely polished, clean, spiffy. They're more like Olivia Newton-Johns than Deborah Harrys (strange metaphor).
But let's get back to Mr. Chesler. It's not all "minimal", far from it! He skillfully crochets aspects of techno, hardcore, goth, industrial into these tracks.
And the strongest point is, once again, the storytelling.
The album is made up of 12 eclectic tales, that despite their short nature are very complex and seem to contain whole words of fiction and dreams inside them.
These tales range from the disturbing and sick, perverted, to the moody and insightful, and finally to the comedic and bizarre.
An example for the former might be "The Fortress"; an example for the latter might be "Parlez-vous Français?" (here is an excerpt from the lyrics: "I met a girl from France.I needed to get into her underpants. So I said…Do you wanna play?Parlez-vous français?")
So, in conclusion. Mr. Chesler delivers once again; fully and completely. It quickly became one of my favorite releases by him.

Give me your tunes that make you pull that dirty stank face in the club, at home or on on the way to work that makes you stank.
Doesn't matter if its the whole tune or the drop - anything can be stanky.
Pic is me stanking in ~1938 to Adagio for Strings

Hi there.
Recently I started posting tracks on my channel that fit the following characteristics:
I know a lot of similar channels with techno and house music.
The question is, how can such a channel be promoted? Thank you.

I thought I’d share this mix of tracks by a producer called Flaaps from Luxembourg.
The tracks here are all from 2005-ish, made on homemade/circuit-bent synths.
I’d love to know what happened to him. As you will hear, he had a very unique approach to making music - and a rare creative talent.
A must-listen for fans of Mathew Herbert, Jamie Liddell and wonky techno in general.
Does anyone here remember him or know anything about him.
