Imo, 46 and 47 were the best seasons to air in the same calendar year since Kaoh Rong and MvGX in 2016. Seriously, I think both seasons are generally great and are on the same tier. I also love how wildly contrasting both seasons are with their superlatives. 46 had, imo, the best post-merge of the new era, and one of the best in the show’s history, while 47 had the best pre-merge of the new era, and one of the best in the show’s history. 46 saw a lot of interpersonal conflict between its cast, had lots of bad gameplay, resulting in the most chaotic and dramatic season of the new era. 47 was probably the most strategy-driven season since WaW and of the new era, and it’s nice to see a majority of the cast post-merge prioritizing gameplay above all. The two winners were also great for both. It’s refreshing to see the show finally give a deserving edit to a social winner (Kenzie, as controversial as it may be to some) and a dominant edit to a female winner (Rachel, as obvious as it may be). Of course, both aren’t perfect because of new era rules, but I think with what was given, 2024 was the best year since 2016. Extending back to 45, imo, would be the best three season run since Cambodia-KR-MvGX. 90 minutes has been a game changer for the show and I hope they never go back to 60 minutes.
I think you could also extend this year being so good to Australian Survivor. I’ve heard good things about Titans vs Rebels, haven’t watched it tho since I’m currently watching All Stars (pls no spoilers).

I'm looking for the episode where Genevieve apologized to Andy for not treating him well at Tribal Council.
I like to make these every so often usually after a season just ended or ones about to start but here’s my list after 47
New Era Games Ranked (No quits/Medevac)
I was so inspired by last season to create a website - full with social media posts from players, and upcoming features like fantasy game, what player are you quiz and post tribal council interview summaries.
I'm so excited to work on this small project!
Check it out and would love all your ideas and you're welcome to contribute.

I really love how this season turned out, although I was really rooting for Andy! He was the ultimate underdog of this season and never saw a social comeback like that before. Looking forward for Season 48!
Or would she have been disqualified?
I know I'm overreacting but it really bothered me when Teeny lost in fire, Jeff snuffed her torch, and Jeff says, "Teeny, the tribe has spoken!"
Um no they didn't! The remaining players all wanted Sam out (with Rachel's immunity)
Ok, I guess I'm being a nit, but it really did bother me. I don't recall, does Jeff always say that after fire making? Maybe he should say, "The fire gods have spoken"
Do you think there is a fundamental difference in older seasons compared to the new era that provides natural advantages to one gender? Or do you feel the new era is still too small of a sample size to tell?
Do you think we’ll get our first trailer or maybe a whole cast announcement?
So I saw online people posting their audition tapes and their overall experience with auditioning and trying to get cast. I was thinking about doing something similar but didn't know if that would actually hurt my chances of getting cast. Figured it would be something fun to do to keep from losing my mind over the whole process. I figured as long as I didn't go into details and bts secrets, just doing more like a daily vlog type of thing it would be fine but just wanted to be sure.
TL;DR: Does posting about your audition/casting experience hurt you from actually making the show?
Okay I've seen a bunch of takes on how this season's pre-merge was mid. I guess people want more drama than gameplay (still don't get why people are so high on 46) but every tribe performed.
Not that landslide underperforming tribe we've had previously in 46, 45, 44 etc
Tribes were nearly level at the merge so there was no scramble of numbers from the depleting tribes, everyone was forced to turn on eachother or look for allies elsewhere.
Saw him at a party. Sheepishly asked for a selfie. And he said let’s make it a video.
He’s as incredible a person as he seems.
Which immunity run was the most impressive?
I personally feel like we haven't had as many strong confessionalists in the new era as we used to have, or we don't have anyone who's strongest aspect is confessionals, who genuinely stood out as a fantastic confessionalist, a la Courtney Yates, or Sandra, or Tyson. People like Genevieve, Shan, Teeny, Yam Yam, Tiffany, Venus and Carolyn are some that come to mind, but I struggle to remember any new era confessionals the way I can with some iconic confessionals from older seasons.
Who would you consider the New Era's strongest confessionalists? Whether they're the funniest, most captivating, most articulate, most charismatic, or whatever you enjoy, who do you think has stood out as a confessionalist in the New era?
hey guys! i recently finished my first watch through of the australian outback and one thing that confused me was why people tend to talk so fondly about tina swaying the vote to mitchell and how that established a foundation for her to go on and become a great winner. i do agree that she's a good winner, but i guess for me it's hard to see what was so brilliant about this move and her winning game in general? elaborate writeups welcome. thanks!
They just dropped their buffs. In the first confessional, a contestant says “I just made the merge! I’m finally datable!” Is this a call back to Kat crying after getting eliminated saying that “nobody wants to date someone that doesn’t make the merge”
Why was it so disgusting? Was there like dirt in it?
When Teeny was asked about their fire making abilities in episode 2 they said “ I’m good at like sparking it, but not building it up” 😭🪦🪦🪦 That in combination with their bag setting on fire in the merge😭 The editors had fun with this one
A winner winning again has only happened once in a season other than WAW. So going by the only data point we have, a good candidate for a 2 time winner is one whose threat is relatively low for a winner. Everyone loves Sandra and Pearl Islands but I don't think she's considered a particularly dominant winner (which is valid btw, winning is winning.) Also it's a winner who is adept at playing whatever hand they're dealt. And they just have to be so likable that you wouldn't even consider voting them out.
So... Erika? Kenzie?
But then again Parvati came EXTREMELY close and she was the biggest threat from day one. But if you're just really gifted at preventing people from getting you out with strategy and social in-roads and immunity, even though everyone knows you're really strong... then maybe it's Dee or Rachel.
Tina almost made it to the end again in BvW and she's just an effervescent lovable personality with just enough social and strategic competency to make it far. in THAT case, maybe it's Jam Jam, Gabler, or Maryanne, provided there is a Redemption Island.
Anyone who has applied and gotten contacted -- how long did it take? Applied about a month ago and wondering if I should give up hope. Thanks!
Just saw a post wondering who would have gotten the Sia award and it made me remember it!
Kind of a popular vote made by one big duper fan.
One thing that’s worn on me during the new era is how repetitive some of the challenges have gotten. Same puzzles, same obstacles, just rearranged in various orders.
I’m currently rewatching Ghost Island and there’s a reward challenge in final 6 that’s basically a larger team version of ‘Simmotion’ played with wooden spools instead of balls. It’s such a big construction I’m surprised that they haven’t used it again, on top of it being a great endurance and teamwork test. It got me thinking there’s a litany of group and individual challenges used once or twice and now probably sitting in a warehouse somewhere.
What are your favorite challenges you wish would make a comeback in the new era?
I thought Rachel played a good game. But I just don’t think I could vote for a player that didn’t get the majority of the votes correct. I would forgive someone getting votes wrong if it was say one alliance vs another alliance and they were swinging etc. But she was blindsided in way too many votes.
I actually didn’t think Sam had played that strong a game until tribal but I thought his pitch was way stronger and he got me when he said he voted correctly every time.
I think advantages and competition wins help you last but surely the main concept of the game is to know what’s going on at all times and have the information and then occasionally resteer a vote. Other than when she played her idol and got saved by Sol I don’t think she really influenced any votes. She may feel like she did as the people she wanted went home often..
